Claims
- 1. A fused electric switch comprising:
- a molded plastic case including a front and a rear wall joined by a pair of opposing sidewalls and a bottom;
- a peripheral rim extending around said front and rear walls and said side walls and defining a first platform between said peripheral rim and said front wall and a second platform between said peripheral rim and said rear wall;
- a first pair and a second pair of guide slots formed within said first platform;
- a pair of elongated guide recesses formed on an interior surface of said peripheral rim;
- a pair of line terminal assemblies attached to said case proximate one end having a pair of line stab contacts;
- a pair of load terminal assemblies attached to said case at an opposite end having a pair of load stab contacts;
- a molded plastic cover-operator having a pair of pins extending from opposite sides thereof at one end, said pins being captured within corresponding ones of said eleongated guide recesses for pivotally retaining said cover-operator to said case;
- a pair of blade conductors extending from an interior surface of said cover-operator and arranged for movement between said line and load stab contacts in response to lateral "ON"-"OFF" movement of said cover-operator between said first and second platforms; and
- a pair of flexible tabs attached to said cover-operator at an opposite end and extending within said first and second guide slots for retaining said cover-operator to said case during said "ON"-"OFF" movement of said cover operator.
- 2. The fused electric switch of claim 1 wherein said second pair of guide slots is wider than said first pair of guide slots to allow clearance of said flexible tabs on said cover-operator.
- 3. The fused electric switch of claim 1 wherein said blade conductors are positioned on a pair of insulating pedestals integrally forced with said cover-operator.
- 4. The fused elcctric switch of claim 1 wherein said line terminal assemblies comprise:
- an angled line strap having a line terminal screw attached thereto; and
- a line terminal stab connector attached to said line strap.
- 5. The fused electric switch of claim 1 wherein said load terminal assemblies comprise:
- a load strap conductor having a fuse receptacle and a load terminal screw attached to one end; and
- a load terminal stab connector attached to said load strap conductor at an opposite end thereof.
- 6. The fused electric switch of claim 1 further including a load strap attached to said case and containing a plurality of load terminal screws attached thereto.
- 7. The fused electric switch of claim 1 wherein said line and load terminal assemblies are arranged within insulating corridors integrally formed with said case.
- 8. The fused electric switch of claim 1 including "ON" indicia impressed within said first platform and "OFF" indicia impressed within said second platform to indicate "ON" and OFF positions of said cover-operator.
- 9. The fused electric switch of claim 1 including through-hole means formed within said first and second platforms for locking said cover-operator within said "ON" and "OFF" positions.
- 10. The fused electric switch of claim 1 wherein said cover-operator is made from a transparent plastic.
- 11. The fused electric switch of claim 1 wherein said cover-operator includes a pair of grooves formed opposite said flexible tabs for providing tactile access to said flexible tabs.
- 12. The fused electric switch of claim 1 including first and second pairs of knockouts formed within said case for electrical access to said pair of line terminal assemblies and said pair of load terminal assemblies.
- 13. The fused electric switch of claim 7 wherein said insulating corridors comprise a first pair of upstanding walls integrally formed with said case and a second pair of upstanding walls integrally formed with said case.
- 14. The fused electric switch of claim 13 wherein at least one of said first upstanding walls and at least one of said second upstanding walls include an anti-turn slot formed therein.
