Claims
- 1. A method of forming a plurality of rope form bundles for use in preparing a fusion bonded carpet having a cut face wear surface of a selected pattern, which method comprises:
- a) forming multiple strands of a fibrous yarn material of selected characteristics into a rope form;
- b) securing together the yarn material of the rope form, by employing a filament material about the exterior surface of the rope form, or by employing an adhesive, to maintain the integrity of the rope form during subsequent processing, to form a fusion bonded carpet;
- c) bundling the rope forms together in a selected arrangement in a rope form bundle machine, to form a plurality of rope form bundles of the rope forms;
- d) securing together the rope form of the rope form bundles, to maintain the integrity of the rope form bundles during subsequent processing, to form a fusion bonded carpet; and
- e) clamping and cutting the plurality of rope form bundles to a predetermined height.
- 2. The method of claim 1 which includes securing the rope form by employing a monofilament or multifilament material wrapped about the exterior surface of the rope form.
- 3. The method of claim 1 which includes securing the rope form bundles by employing an adhesive or a filament material wrapped about the exterior surface of the rope form bundles.
- 4. The method of claim 1 wherein each rope form has a general diameter of 3 mm to 13 mm, and comprises 2 to 20 strands of yarn material.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein the rope form bundles comprise from 4 to 12 rope forms.
- 6. The method of claim 1 wherein the yarn material of the rope form is yarn material having selected characteristics selected from the group consisting of yarn size, yarn ply, yarn twist level, yarn twist direction, yarn color, yarn heat setting properties and combinations thereof.
- 7. The method of claim 1 which includes selecting yarn material of different color for each rope or rope form bundle form to form a fusion-bonded carpet with a face wear surface of a selected color pattern.
- 8. The method of claim 1, wherein the rope forms comprise straight and generally parallel, fibrous yarn material.
- 9. The method of claim 1, which includes selecting yarn material of a different color for the rope forms or rope form bundles, for preparing a fusion bonded carpet with a cut face wear surface of a selected color pattern.
- 10. A method of forming a plurality of rope form bundles for use in preparing a fusion bonded carpet having a cut face wear surface of a selected pattern, which method comprises:
- a) forming multiple strands of a fibrous straight and generally parallel yarn material of selected characteristics into a rope form;
- b) securing together the yarn material of the rope form to maintain the integrity of the rope form during subsequent processing, to form a fusion bonded carpet;
- c) bundling the rope forms together in a selected arrangement in a rope form bundle machine, to form a plurality of rope form bundles of the rope forms;
- d) securing together the rope form of the rope form bundles, to maintain the integrity of the rope form bundles during subsequent processing, to form a fusion bonded carpet; and
- e) clamping and cutting the plurality of rope form bundles to a predetermined height, prior to preparing a fusion bonded carpet.
- 11. The method of claim 10, which includes securing the rope form by employing an adhesive or a filament material wrapped about the exterior surface of the rope form.
- 12. The method of claim 10, which includes securing the rope form bundles by employing an adhesive or a filament material wrapped about the exterior surface of the rope form bundles.
