Claims
- 1. An isolated polypeptide comprising residues 151 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2.
- 2. The isolated polypeptide of according to claim 1 wherein the polypeptide comprises residues 42 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2.
- 3. The isolated polypeptide of according to claim 2 wherein the polypeptide comprises residues 1 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2.
- 4. An isolated polypeptide selected from the group consisting of:
a) a polypeptide comprising residues 1 to 41 of SEQ ID NO:2; b) a polypeptide comprising residues 42 to 150 of SEQ ID NO:2; c) a polypeptide comprising residues 151 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2; and d) a polypeptide comprising residues 42 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2.
- 5. An isolated polynucleotide encoding the polypeptide according to claim 1.
- 6. The isolated polynucleotide according to claim 5, wherein the polypeptide molecule is chosen from:
a) a polypeptide comprising residues 42 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2; and b) a polypeptide comprising residues 1 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2.
- 7. An expression vector comprising the following operably linked elements:
a) a transcription promoter; b) a DNA segment wherein the DNA segment is a polynucleotide encoding the polypeptide of claim 1; and c) a transcription terminator.
- 8. The expression vector according to claim 7 wherein the DNA segment further encodes an affinity tag.
- 9. A cultured cell that has been transformed by the expression vector according to claim 8, wherein said cell expresses the polypeptide encoded by the DNA segment.
- 10. A method of producing a polypeptide comprising culturing a cell according to claim 8, whereby said cell expresses the polypeptide encoded by the DNA segment; and recovering the polypeptide.
- 11. The polypeptide produced by the method of claim 10.
- 12. A method of producing an antibody comprising the following steps in order:
inoculating an animal with a polypeptide selected from the group consisting of:
a) a polypeptide comprising residues 1 to 41 of SEQ ID NO:2; b) a polypeptide comprising residues 42 to 150 of SEQ ID NO:2; c) a polypeptide comprising residues 151 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2; d) a polypeptide comprising residues 42 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2; and e) a polypeptide comprising residues 1 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2. wherein the polypeptide elicits an immune response in the animal to produce the antibody; and isolating the antibody from the animal.
- 13. An antibody produced by the method of claim 12, which binds to a residues 1 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2.
- 14. The antibody of claim 12, wherein the antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
- 15. An antibody which specifically binds to the polypeptide of claim 3.
- 16. A method of producing an antibody comprising the following steps in order:
inoculating an animal with an epitope bearing portion of a polypeptide; wherein the polypeptide elicits an immune response in the animal to produce the antibody; and isolating the antibody from the animal.
- 17. An antibody produced by the method of claim 16, which binds to a residues 1 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2.
- 18. The antibody of claim 17, wherein the antibody is a monoclonal antibody.
- 19. A method of forming a reversible complementary molecule-anti-complementary molecule complex comprising;
providing an complementary molecule comprising residues 151 to 415 of SEQ ID NO:2; and contacting the complementary molecule with a anti-complementary molecule; whereby the complementary molecule binds the anti-complementary molecule.
- 20. The method of claim 19, wherein the anti-complementary molecule is selected from the group consisting of:
a) glycoproteins; b) glycolipids; and c) antibodies.
