The present invention concerns games and methods for playing same. More particularly, the present invention concerns a game played with game pieces and methods of playing the game. Even more particularly, the present invention concerns a multiple player game having game pieces and method of playing same.
The art is replete with games involving, game boards, dice, and game pieces involving discreet rules, etc. Such games have been developed over many, many years. Many of the original games that were played with game cards, boards and dice have been converted into digital games, leaving a dearth of new games played “manually.”
In fact, one such game is Monopoly which was patented by Parker Brothers under U.S. Pat. No. 2,026,082. It is to be appreciated that little advancement has taken place in connection with creating new “manual” games which can be played by two or more persons. Without access to a computer and without computer proficiency, many people are blocked from enjoying new games.
The present invention, generally, provides a plurality of sets of hexagonal game pieces dimensioned to abut against each other and wherein an upper surface of each game piece is divided into six sections each having an assigned point value. The first set has point values associated with each segment. The second set represents a bonus value associated with the top surface numbers and the third set has a second set of bonus numbers. Colors can be provided to the various sections of each game piece for simplifying the associated bonus numbers associated therewith.
The present invention deploys the game pieces in a manual game of chance to be played by two or more persons, the game comprising: a first polygon game piece having a top surface and a second surface and six sides; wherein the top surface includes six, divided, top surface sections and wherein the top surface sections alternate between an opaque top surface section and a visible information top surface section and wherein: the visible information top surface sections comprise a first visible information section having a first number representing a game point value; a second visible information section having a second number representing a game point value; and a third visible information section having a similar number representing a game point value. The game further comprises similar game pieces having bonus values of double and quadruple bonus game pieces.
The invention further includes playing a game using eight first game pieces, six first bonus game pieces, six second bonus game pieces, and six third bonus pieces. The invention further includes playing a game wherein the players roll die having six sides numbered 1 through 6 and each player rolls the die and receives a number; and the player rolling the highest number selects a tile first and the player with the next highest number selects second and this step repeats until all tiles are selected and each player has the same number of tiles.
Next, the first player is awarded a fist amount of game points and then the first player selects and places a first tile; and then the second player selects and places a second tile and aligns the side of the second tile having the matching point amount with the point value of the side of the first tile and the second player is awarded that amount of game points multiplied by the bonus amount of the matching tile section of the second tile.
The invention further includes playing the above game and repeating it until a player's total game points exceeds a predetermined amount of total game points.
For a more complete understanding of the present invention, reference is made to the following detailed description and accompanying drawings. In the drawings, like reference characters refer to like parts throughout the several views in which:
Now, and with reference to the drawings and in accordance with the present invention, there is provided a game which generally comprises a plurality of game pieces or tiles in which random selection of the tiles, having previously appointed point values, enables a winner in accordance with the rules thereof.
A first bonus polygon game piece having a top surface and a second surface and six sides; wherein the top surface includes six, divided, top surface sections and wherein the top surface sections alternate between an opaque top surface section and a visible information top surface section and wherein: the visible information top surface sections comprise a first visible information section having a first number representing a game point value; a second visible information section having a second number representing a game point value; and a third visible information section having a third number representing a game point value and wherein the first visible information section includes a first bonus indicia representing a first bonus multiplier; a second bonus polygon game piece having a top surface and a second surface and six sides; wherein the top surface includes six, divided, top surface sections and wherein the top surface sections alternate between an opaque top surface section and a visible information top surface section and wherein: the visible information top surface sections comprise a first visible information section having a first number representing a game point value; a second visible information section having a second number representing a game point value; and a third visible information section having a third number representing a game point value and wherein the second visible information section includes a second bonus indicia representing a second bonus multiplier; and a third bonus polygon game piece having a top surface and a second surface and six sides; wherein the top surface includes six, divided, top surface sections and wherein the top surface sections alternate between an opaque top surface section and a visible information top surface section and wherein: the visible information top surface sections comprise a first visible information section having a first number representing a game point value; a second visible information section having a second number representing a game point value; and a third visible information section having a third number representing a game point value and wherein the third visible information section includes a third bonus indicia representing a third bonus multiplier.
The invention further includes wherein the first number of the first visible information section is 10 game points value; the second number of the second visible information section is 20 game points value; and the third number of the third visible information section is 30 game points value. The invention further includes wherein the first bonus indicia of the first visible information section of the first bonus game piece comprises the color yellow and has a first bonus multiplier of 2×. The invention further includes wherein the second bonus indicia of the second visible information section of the second bonus game piece comprises the color red and has a second bonus multiplier of 3×.
The invention further includes wherein the third bonus indicia of the third visible information section of the third bonus game piece comprises the color green and has a third bonus multiplier of 4×.
More particularly, referring to
As shown in the drawings and
According to the present invention as shown in
According to the present example, the color yellow on the tile 28 prescribes a double value (i.e., 2×) to the inscribed point value (i.e., 10) when the tile 22 is played during the game and the inscribed point value is matched for a total increase of 20 game points. The color red on the tile 30 prescribes a triple value (i.e., 3×) to the amount of points (i.e., 20) ascribed to the tile 30 when the tile 30 is played during the game and the inscribed point value is matched for a total increase of 60 game points. The color green on the tile 32 prescribes a quadruple value (i.e., 4×) to the amount of points (i.e., 30) ascribed to the tile 32 when the tile 32 is played during the game and the inscribed point value is matched for a total increase of 120 game points. It is to be understood, though, that not all tiles have color coded bonus point values.
In playing the game, once a player achieves an accumulated number of game points, such as 500, 600, 700, then he or she is declared the winner. The present game can be played by any number of players, from two up to, preferably, no more than four. Where three players are involved, one or more game pieces 10, including tiles 14, are removed from the game to make the remaining number of game pieces 10, including tiles divisible by three or by five, or by six.
For example, selecting 20 as the desired number of game pieces 10 or tiles to be used, two tiles are blindly removed, and each of the three players receives six tiles. The tiles are selected randomly by turning them over, before selection, so that no numbers are visible thereon. A single die is used to determine the first player to select his or her game piece(s) 10. The die is rolled and the player with the highest number selects first. The player with the second highest rolled die number selects second and the third highest selects last, etc. In order not to penalize the first player, he or she is awarded in initial number of points.
If there are five players and there are 20 game pieces 10 available, then each player gets four tiles 14 and if there are six players, then two tiles 14 are removed from the twenty, and each player selects three game pieces 10. After each player uses all of their game pieces 10, the game pieces 10 can again be scrambled together, turned, the die rolled, and the game piece 10 selection repeated. Once a player reaches the designated total point value, he or she is the winner.
In
Once the die is rolled, the first player selects his or her allotment of tiles, followed by the second highest roller, and the third highest roller, etc. The first player turns over a tile to start the game.
A predetermined number of points results in the first person reaching that goal is declared as the winner of the game. It is to be understood that any number of game pieces or tiles 10, 28, 30, 32 can be used herein. It is to be appreciated that the present invention provides a game readily played by two persons, or more, which is readily understood by the players.
The present application claims priority to and incorporates herein the entire contents including the drawing of U.S. Provisional Patent Application Ser. No. 63/066,889, filed Aug. 18, 2020, in the name of Christopher A. Hewitt, and entitled “Game and Method of Playing Same”.
