The present invention generally relates to games and more particularly, to a strategy type guessing game for two players.
Many games have been devised wherein the game is played upon a board and the rules of the game are so determined so that each player operates with a strategy to avoid detection from the other player.
A popular game merchandised under the mark BATTLESHIP employs boards screened from opposing players with co-ordinate location of targets. The game is played by two players, wherein each player has a playing board marked in checkerboard like squares, and the players, in turn, select any square on their playing board by marking, covering or otherwise designating the selected squares, each selection being called a shot. The object of the game is to locate and sink the opposing players ships.
The U.S. Pat. No. 1,932,524 features screened boards in a special arrangement which is exceptionally simple and economical to manufacture, and which is, moreover, automatically located by the simple movement of placing the game board in v position for use.
The Korean Patent 101B09525 describes a board game having a plurality of game horses having a ship name. The various movements defined therein, N horizontal lines and M vertical lines intersecting to form a checkered board game having a plurality of intersections of cards. The win and loss of the game are assumed to be the destruction of the general line game in which both teams start one by one.
However, all such board games provides same location and naval ships as icons. Thus, there is a dire need of a games which provide different locations on the board of the game and multiple variations in icon not associated with war. The icons can be varied such as rail roads, states and countries, famous buildings, cars, car raceways, sports, zoo animals, foods, energy ie fossil vs, green, etc. The variations in icons are diet food such as protein shake, desserts such as cheesecake and brownies, food such as pizza and french fries, cars such as classic or racing or popular etc. The combinations are many.

The present invention relates a new and useful improvements in game apparatus. The Inventor an avid board game player is not aware of any games using a game board as described herein. This invention is capable of being played in several ways under many different rules. Thus, the variety of game uses can be readily changed by the players thereof for any given game situation using the same game board. In one embodiment the game is played by two contestants or players, each player has a playing board in pegboard like structure, and the players, in turn, select any coordinates on their playing board by marking, covering, or otherwise designating the selected coordinates, each selection being made to locate and capture the opposing piece. The object of the game is to locate and capture the opposing players element (pieces). The opposing players playing pieces constitute lines of pegs on a selecting panel/grid which he/she has previously marlced in some manner, but which is not visible to the other player. The selecting panel/grid peg lines corresponding to the lines of the other players playing board, and the playing pieces usually consist of straight lines of arranged either horizontally or vertically on the grid. Also, the number of pegs in the line designating each element may be varied; for example, one peg might represent a protein shake, two pegs a sunday ice cream, three squares a cheesecake, and four squares a brownie. An element is captured when all of the pegs corresponding thereto on the opposing contestants playing board have been selected, and the first player to capture all of the opponents playing pieces wins the game. The playing pieces of the present invention includes but is not limited to different locations such as rail roads, states and countries, properties, famous buildings/streets and/or diet food such as protein shake, desserts such as cheesecake, brownies, sunday ice cream, donuts and/or food such as pizza and french fries, collectables such as stamps, coins, jewelry etc.
According to another embodiment, the invention has a provision of ari apparatus to play the game as outlined above electrically. Each playing board consists of a grid in which are arranged a series of electrically powered indicators each corresponding to a peg of the playing board above described. Each selector panel consists of a board in which are arranged a series of manually operable switches each corresponding to an indicator on the opponents playing board. To play, each contestant in turn manually moves a selector member over the indicator on his playing board at which he desires to capture, then presses a button. The selected indicator is moved physically to indicate that it has been selected. Further, if that indicator corresponds to one of the opponents selector switches which has been previously closed, the indicator will also be lighted to indicate a location is identified. The contestant who first scores on the indicators corresponding to all of the closed selector switches of his opponent wins the game. The number of selector switches to be closed by each contestant is a prearranged rule of the game.
According to another embodiment, the pegs selected by each contestant are counted and coordinates are selected/pronounced when the required number of selections have been made, meaning once the play has begun each contestant is prevented from altering the number or pattern of his selections without notifying his opponent. According to another embodiment, the play is commenced after both contestants have completed their selections. In the end the hits made by each player is counted and the player with maximum hits wins the game.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the game device has a planer base of rectangular box. The box has top wall, side walls and end walls and the said side and end walls are secured at their lower edges to the corresponding edges of base by any suitable fastener including but not limited to screw. The playing board consists of a pair of rectangular, vertically spaced apart and horizontally coextensive sheets of an insulating material, said sheets extending longitudinally of the housing below top wall thereof.

According to one embodiment, before the game starts, each opponent secretly places their own five playing pieces 306, 307, 308, 309 and 310 on the grid (lower part of the board) by laying out their five playing pieces and putting them into the peg holes 303 on the grid. Each element must be placed horizontally or vertically across grid spaces-not diagonally. The Playing pieces can't hang off the grid. According to one embodiment, the playing pieces can touch each other, but they cannot occupy the same grid space. Moreover, the playing pieces once placed cannot change the location after the game begins. According to one embodiment, the grid has numbers and letters written on the grid wall for the coordinates 304. The same numbers and letters are written on the bottom grid for the coordinates 305.
According to one embodiment, the players take turns calling out the coordinates to attempt to hit the opponent's elements. The coordinates spoken by the players identifies rows and column on the target grid on the lower part 302. The other player who is sitting opposite to the speaking player checks those coordinates on their grid and verbally response “YES” if the player has correctly guessed a space that is occupied by the element, or “NO” if you there is no element there. According to one embodiment, each of the players attempts are marked to fire using the target grid which is the upper part of the grid by using different coloured pegs to remember the “YESSES” and “NOS”, As the game proceeds, the desired coloured pegs will gradually identify the size and location of the opponent's elements.
According to one embodiment, when the opponent player selects a peg at the other player, the player will have to put a peg into the hole of the element corresponding to the grid space. When the playing pieces has every slot filled with the pegs, that player will announce to the opposite player when the playing pieces are captured. The game has 4 playing pieces while some of the games can have more than 4 pieces according to the rules of the game. The rules for the game include dessert game which is also known as the junk food game wherein the goal of the game is to get all the protein shakes of the opponent player and avoid desserts. Each side of the player gets 3 desserts and 2 shakes. According to one embodiment, the other rule includes classic cars wherein you own the cars when you acquire all the element pieces of the opponent. The playing pieces include 1967 Chevy Corvette, 1973 Porsche, 1975 BMW 3 0 CSL, 1960 Jagvar E Type and Lamborghini Mivra.
