Abstract
Disclosed is a game package comprising at least one action figure for simulating a plurality of mixed martial arts postures, and a mixed martial arts ring adapted to support the at least one action figure thereon. The action figure comprises an upper torso, a neck portion, a head portion, a first pair of limbs, a lower torso, and a second pair of limbs. The neck portion is movably coupled to a top end portion of the upper torso. The head portion is movably coupled to a top end portion of the neck portion. The first pair of limbs is movably coupled to a pair of side end portions of the upper torso. The lower torso is movably coupled to a bottom end portion of the upper torso. The second pair of limbs is movably coupled to a pair of side end portions of the lower torso.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to a game package for kids, and, more particularly, to a game package of a mixed martial arts game.


BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Various types of game packages for kids are popular among kids these days. These game packages include toy action figures resembling humans, and animals. While playing therewith, kids enjoy posing such toy action figures in various postures. For example, while playing with a human figure, kids may pose the human figure in a running posture by moving legs and arms of the human figure in a forward direction and a backward direction.


Typically, kids enjoy playing with toy action figures of popular personalities, such as mixed martial arts champions. Conventional toy figures of the mixed martial arts champions are capable of assuming certain postures by movement of body parts thereof. However, movement of the body parts of such mixed martial arts champion toy action figures involves complex mechanisms. Incorporation of such complex mechanisms increases the cost involved in manufacturing of conventional toy figures. Moreover, the conventional toy action figures are capable of attaining limited certain postures only, thereby preventing the kids from completely experiencing the joy of playing therewith. Further, conventional toy action figures include disproportioned structures thereof. For example, various conventional toy action figures replicating a mixed martial arts champion have a larger upper torso and a relatively small lower torso, thereby imparting a comic look to the toy action figure.


Accordingly, there exists a need for a game package for a mixed martial arts game that may simulate a real-time mixed martial arts game experience to kids while playing therewith, thereby providing complete gaming experience to the kids. Additionally, there exists a need for an action figure that may be capable of attaining various mixed martial arts postures.


SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the prior art, the general purpose of the present invention is to provide a game package, configured to include all the advantages of the prior art, and to overcome the drawbacks inherent therein.


Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a game package for a mixed martial arts game which may simulate a real-time mixed martial arts game experience to users while playing therewith.


Another object of the present invention is to provide an action figure (also known as “extreme action figures” or “mixed martial arts action figures”) that may be capable of attaining a plurality of mixed martial arts postures.


In light of the above objects, in one aspect of the present invention, a game package is disclosed. The game package comprises at least one action figure for simulating mixed martial arts postures, and a mixed martial arts ring adapted to support the at least one action figure thereon. The at least one action figure comprises an upper torso, a neck portion, a head portion, a first pair of limbs, a lower torso, and a second pair of limbs. The upper torso comprises a top end portion, a bottom end portion and a pair of side end portions. The neck portion comprises a top end portion and a bottom end portion thereof. The bottom end portion of the neck portion is movably coupled to the top end portion of the upper torso. The head portion is movably coupled to the top end portion of the neck portion. The first pair of limbs is movably coupled to the pair of side end portions of the upper torso. The lower torso comprises a top end portion and a pair of side end portions. The top end portion of the lower torso is movably coupled to the bottom end portion of the upper torso. The second pair of limbs is movably coupled to the pair of side end portions of the lower torso.


In another aspect of the present invention, an action figure is disclosed. The action figure comprises an upper torso, a neck portion, a head portion, a first pair of limbs, a lower torso, and a second pair of limbs. The upper torso comprises a top end portion, a bottom end portion and a pair of side end portions. The neck portion comprises a top end portion and a bottom end portion. The bottom end portion of the neck portion is movably coupled to the top end portion of the upper torso. The head portion is movably coupled to the top end portion of the neck portion. The first pair of limbs is movably coupled to the pair of side end portions of the upper torso. The lower torso comprises a top end portion and a pair of side end portions. The top end portion of the lower torso is movably coupled to the bottom end portion of the upper torso. The second pair of limbs is movably coupled to the pair of side end portions of the lower torso.


These together with other aspects of the present invention, along with the various features of novelty that characterize the present invention, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed hereto and form a part of this present invention. For a better understanding of the present invention, its operating advantages, and the specific objects attained by its uses, reference should be made to the accompanying drawings and descriptive matter in which there are illustrated exemplary embodiments of the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The exemplary embodiments described herein detail for illustrative purposes are subject to many variations in structure and design. It should be emphasized, however, that the present invention is not limited to a game package, as shown and described. It is understood that various omissions and substitutions of equivalents are contemplated as circumstances may suggest or render expedient, but these are intended to cover the application or implementation without departing from the spirit or scope of the claims of the present invention.


The terms “first,” “second,” and the like, herein do not denote any order, quantity, or importance, but rather are used to distinguish one element from another, and the terms “a” and “an” herein do not denote a limitation of quantity, but rather denote the presence of at least one of the referenced item.


The present invention provides a game package for a mixed martial arts game. The game package of the present invention is configured to simulate a real time mixed martial arts game for kids to play therewith. Referring to FIG. 1, a perspective view of a game package 100 is illustrated, in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. The game package 100 includes a mixed martial arts ring 200 and at least one action figure, such as an action FIG. 300. The mixed martial arts ring 200 is capable of supporting the action FIG. 300 thereon such that the action FIG. 300 and the mixed martial arts ring 200 simulate a mixed martial arts game.


For the ease of description, in the present embodiment, the game package 100 is described with a single action figure, such as the action FIG. 300. However, it will be apparent to a person skilled in the art that the game package 100 may include a plurality of such other action figures. The action FIG. 300 is capable of simulating a plurality of mixed martial arts postures upon moving various parts of the action FIG. 300. The description of the action FIG. 300 and the movement of various parts thereof are further explained in detail in conjunction with FIG. 2.


The mixed martial arts ring 200 may include a base 202 having a mixed martial arts area 204 and a projection 206 extending downwardly form the mixed martial arts area 204. The projection 206 supports the mixed martial arts area 204 thereon. The mixed martial arts ring 200 further includes a plurality of support members, such a support member 208a, a support member 208b, a support member 208c, a support member 208d, a support member 208e, a support member 208f, a support member 208g, and a support member 208h configured at corners of the base 202, and a plurality of stretchable ropes, such as a rope 210a, a rope 210b and a rope 210c fastened to the plurality of support members 208a, 208b, 208c, 208d, 208e, 208f, 208g, and 208h.


In one embodiment of the present invention, the mixed martial arts area 204 is configured to assume an octagonal shape. However, it will be apparent to a person skilled in the art that the mixed martial arts area 204 may be configured to assume any other shape apart from the rectangular shape, such as a circular shape, an elliptical shape and polygonal shapes. Further, number of support members, such as the support members 208a, 208b, 208c, 208d, 208e, 208f, 208g, and 208h may vary based on a shape of the mixed martial arts area 204. Moreover, numbers of ropes, such as ropes 210a, 210b and 210c may vary based on a length of the support members 208a, 208b, 208c, 208d, 208e, 208f, 208g, and 208h. Furthermore, in an alternate embodiment, fencing may be fastened to the support members in place of the stretchable ropes. In an embodiment, padding (not shown) may be disposed on the ends of the support members 208 that are distal to the mixed martial arts area 204 to simulate safety padding present in human combat or fighting arenas. The action FIG. 300 may be positioned on the mixed martial arts area 204 to simulate a mixed martial arts game.


The game package 100 of the present invention may further include at least one decorative accessories (not shown) associated with the mixed martial arts ring 200. The decorative accessories may be attached on the base 202 of the mixed martial arts ring 200 for enabling the mixed martial arts ring 200 to be aesthetically pleasing and simulate a real time mixed martial arts ring. In one embodiment of the present invention, the decorative accessories may include logos, stickers and the like.


The game package 100 described herein may further include at least one accessory (not shown) associated with the action FIG. 300. In one embodiment of the present invention, the at least one accessory is a title belt and a trading card. The title belt enables in representing a title, such a champion title held by a fighter champion represented by the action FIG. 300. Further, in the one embodiment of the present invention, the action FIG. 300 may be configured to imitate the looks of a real time fighter associated with a mixed martial arts competition, such as an Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC). More specifically, face and physique of the action FIG. 300 may be configured to resemble face and physique of a real time UFC fighter, for enabling the action FIG. 300 to imitate the looks thereof. Furthermore, the trading card may include a signature of the real time fighter, featured as an action figure, such as the action FIG. 300. Moreover, it will be apparent to a person skilled in the art that the at least one accessory associated with the action FIG. 300 may include other accessories apart from the title belt and the trading card, such as a weapons, apparels and the like of the action FIG. 300.


It will be obvious to a person skilled in the art that the game package 100 may further include a container (not shown) for enclosing the action FIG. 300 and the mixed martial arts ring 200 therein. For example, the container may be a box-like structure capable of enclosing the action FIG. 300 and the mixed martial arts ring 200 therein. Further, the container may be composed of a lightweight material, which includes but is not limited to a corrugated paper and a plastic material.


Referring to FIG. 2, a front view of the action FIG. 300 is illustrated, in accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention. The action FIG. 300 includes an upper torso 302, a neck portion 304, a head portion 306, a first pair of limbs, such as a limb 308a and a limb 308b (hereinafter collectively referred to as first pair of limbs 308), a lower torso 310, and a second pair of limbs, such a limb 312a and a limb 312b (hereinafter collectively referred to as second pair of limbs 312).


The upper torso 302 of the action FIG. 300 includes a top end portion 314, a bottom end portion 316 and a pair of side end portions, such as a side end portion 318a and a side end portion 318b. Further, the neck portion 304 of the action FIG. 300 includes a top end portion, such as a top end portion 320 and a bottom end portion, such a bottom end portion 322. The neck portion 304 is supported on the top end portion 314 of the upper torso 302. More specifically, the bottom end portion 322 of the neck portion 304 is movably coupled to the top end portion 314 of the upper torso 302. In one embodiment of the present invention, the movable coupling between the bottom end portion 322 of the neck portion 304 and the top end portion 314 of the upper torso 302 is enabled by a ball and socket joint configured therebetween.


The ball and socket joint between the neck portion 304 and the top end portion 314 of the upper torso 302 enables the neck portion 304 to move in a plurality of directions. More specifically, the neck portion 304 may be rotated and tilted about the top end portion 314 of the upper torso 302 such that neck portion 304 may attain a plurality of postures with respect to the upper torso 302. Further, it will be evident to a person skilled in the art that the movable coupling between the neck portion 304 and the upper torso 302 may be enabled by other mechanism apart from the ball and socket joint, such as an ellipsoidal joint, a saddle joint, a hinge joined and a pivot joint.


The head portion 306 of the action FIG. 300 is supported on the neck portion 304 of the action FIG. 300. More specifically, the head portion 306 is movably coupled to the top end portion 320 of the neck portion 304. The movable coupling between the head portion 306 and the top end portion 320 of the neck portion 304 is also enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. The ball and socket joint between the head portion 306 and the neck portion 304 enables the head portion 306 to move about the top end portion 320 of the neck portion 304 in a plurality of directions. More specifically, the head portion 306 may be rotated and tilted about the top end portion 320 of the neck portion 304 such that the head portion 306 may attain various postures with respect to the neck portion 304.


The first pair of limbs 308 of the action FIG. 300 extends laterally from the side end portions 318a and 318b of the upper torso 302 of the action FIG. 300. More specifically, the limb 308a is movably coupled to the side end portion 318a of the upper torso 302 and the limb 308a is movably coupled to the side end portion 318a of the upper torso 302. The movable coupling between the first pair of limbs 308 and the side end portions 318a and 318b of the upper torso 302 may be enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. The ball and socket joint between the first pair of limbs 308 and the side end portions 318a and 318b of the upper torso 302 enables the first pair of limbs 308 to rotate and tilt towards the side end portions 318a and 318b of the upper torso 302. Further, the first pair of limbs 308 may attain a plurality of postures with respect to the side end portions 318a and 318b of the upper torso 302.


As shown in FIG. 2, the first pair of limbs 308 forms the arm portions of the action FIG. 300. Accordingly, each limb of the first pair of limbs 308 includes an upper arm portion, a lower arm portion and a hand portion. More specifically, the limb 308a includes an upper arm portion 324a, a lower arm portion 326a and a hand portion 328a. Similarly, the limb 308b includes an upper arm portion 324b, a lower arm portion 326b and a hand portion 328b. The term ‘upper arm portion’ used herein refers to a portion of an arm between a shoulder portion and an elbow portion and the term ‘lower arm portion’ refers to a forearm portion of the arm.


The upper arm portion 324a of the limb 308a is movably coupled to the side end portion 318a of the upper torso 302 of the action FIG. 300. The movable coupling between the upper arm portion 324a and the side end portion 318a of the upper torso 302 may be enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. The ball and socket joint configured between the upper arm portion 324a and the side end portion 318a may enable the upper arm portion 324a to rotate and tilt about the side end portion 318a of the upper torso 302, thereby enabling the upper arm portion 324a to attain a plurality of postures with respect to the side end portion 318a of the upper torso 302.


The upper arm portion 324a of the limb 308a of the action FIG. 300 is further movably coupled to the lower arm portion 326a of the action FIG. 300. The movable coupling between the lower arm portion 326a and the upper arm portion 324a may be enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. The ball and socket joint configured between the lower arm portion 326a and the upper arm portion 324a enables the lower arm portion 326a to rotate and tilt about the upper arm portion 324a, thereby enabling the lower arm portion 326a to attain a plurality of postures with respect to the upper arm portion 324a.


The lower arm portion 326a of the action FIG. 300 is further movably coupled to the hand portion 328a of the action FIG. 300. The hand portion 328a includes a palm portion 330a and a plurality of fingers 332a movably coupled to the palm portion 330a. The palm portion 330a is movably coupled to the lower arm portion 326a. The movable coupling between the palm portion 330a and the lower arm portion 326a may be enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. Similarly, the movable coupling between the plurality of fingers 332a and the palm portion 330a may be enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. The ball and socket joint configured between the palm portion 330a and the lower arm portion 326a enables the palm portion 330a to rotate and tilt about the lower arm portion 326a, thereby enabling the palm portion 330a to attain a plurality of postures with respect to the lower arm portion 326a. Similarly, the ball and socket joint configured between the plurality of fingers 332a and the palm portion 330a enables the plurality of fingers 332a to rotate and tilt about the palm portion 330a, thereby enabling the plurality of fingers 332a to attain a plurality of postures with respect to the palm portion 330a.


The limb 308b of the action FIG. 300 is configurationally and functionally similar to the limb 308a of the action FIG. 300. More specifically, as explained herein, the limb 308b includes the upper arm portion 324b, the lower arm portion 326b and the hand portion 328b similar to the upper arm portion 324a, the lower arm portion 326a and the hand portion 328a, respectively, of the limb 308a. Further, the hand portion 328b includes a palm portion 330b and a plurality of fingers 332b similar to the palm portion 330a and the plurality of fingers 332a, respectively, of the limb 308a. Accordingly, a detailed explanation for the limb 308b has been avoided for sake of brevity.


The lower torso 310 includes a top end portion 334 and a pair of side end portions, such as a side end portion 336a and a side end portion 336b. The lower torso 310 is movably coupled to the upper torso 302. More specifically, the top end portion 334 of the lower torso 310 is movably coupled to the bottom end portion 316 of the upper torso 302. The movable coupling between the lower torso 310 and the upper torso 302 may be enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. The ball and socket joint configured between the lower torso 310 and the upper torso 302 may enable the lower torso 310 to rotate and tilt about the upper torso 302, thereby enabling the lower torso 310 to attain a plurality of postures with respect to the upper torso 302.


The lower torso 310 of the action FIG. 300 is further movably coupled to the second pair of limbs 312 of the action FIG. 300. More specifically, the limb 312a is movably coupled to the side end portion 336a of the lower torso 310 and the limb 312b is movably coupled to the side end portion 336b of the lower torso 310. The movable coupling between the second pair of limbs 312 and the side end portions 336a and 336b of the lower torso 310 may be enabled by ball and socket joints, configured therebetween. The ball and socket joints between the second pair of limbs 312 and the side end portions 336a and 336b of the lower torso 310 enables the second pair of limbs 312 to rotate and tilt about the side end portions 336a and 336b of the lower torso 310. Further, the second pair of limbs 312 may attain a plurality of postures with respect to the side end portions 336a and 336b of the lower torso 310 due the ball and socket joint configured therebetween.


As shown in FIG. 2, the second pair of limbs 312 forms the leg portions of the action FIG. 300. Accordingly, each limb of the second pair of limbs 312 includes an upper leg portion, a lower leg portion and a foot portion. More specifically, the limb 312a includes an upper leg portion 338a, a lower leg portion 340a and a foot portion 342a. Similarly, the limb 312b of the second pair of limbs 312 includes an upper leg portion 338b, a lower leg portion 340b and a foot portion 342b. The term ‘upper leg portion’ used herein refers to a thigh portion of a leg and the term ‘lower leg portion’ refers to a portion of the leg between a knee portion and an ankle portion.


The upper leg portion 338a of the limb 312a of the action FIG. 300 is movably coupled to the side end portion 336a of the lower torso 310 of the action FIG. 300. The movable coupling between the upper leg portion 338a and the side end portion 336a of the lower torso 310 is enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. The ball and socket joint configured between the upper leg portion 338a and the side end portion 336a enables the upper leg portion 338a to rotate and tilt about the side end portion 336a of the lower torso 310, thereby enabling the upper leg portion 338a to attain a plurality of postures with respect to the side end portion 336a of the lower torso 310.


The upper leg portion 338a of the limb 312a of the action FIG. 300 is further movably coupled to the lower leg portion 340a of the action FIG. 300. The movable coupling between the lower leg portion 340a and the upper leg portion 338a may be enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. The ball and socket joint configured between the lower leg portion 340a and the upper leg portion 338a enables the lower leg portion 340a to rotate and tilt about the upper leg portion 338a, thereby enabling the lower leg portion 340a to attain a plurality of postures with respect to the upper leg portion 338a.


The lower leg portion 340a of the action FIG. 300 is further movably coupled to the foot portion 342a of the action FIG. 300. The foot portion 342a includes an instep portion 344a and a plurality of toes 346a movably coupled to the instep portion 344a. The instep portion 344a is movably coupled to the lower leg portion 340a. The movable coupling between the instep portion 344a and the lower leg portion 340a may be enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. Similarly, the movable coupling between the plurality of toes 346a and the instep portion 344a may be enabled by a ball and socket joint, configured therebetween. The ball and socket joint configured between the instep portion 344a and the lower leg portion 340a may enable the instep portion 344a to rotate and tilt about the lower leg portion 340a, thereby enabling the instep portion 344a to attain a plurality of postures with respect to the lower leg portion 340a. Similarly, the ball and socket joint configured between the plurality of toes 346a and the instep portion 344a may enable the plurality of toes 346a to rotate and tilt about the instep portion 344a, thereby enabling the plurality of toes 346a to attain a plurality of postures with respect to the instep portion 344a.


The limb 312b is configurationally and functionally similar to the limb 312a of the action FIG. 300. More specifically, as explained herein the limb 312b includes the upper leg portion 338b, the lower leg portion 340b and the foot portion 342b similar to the upper leg portion 338a, the lower leg portion 340a and the foot portion 342a, respectively, of the limb 312a. Further, the foot portion 342b of the limb 312b also includes an instep portion 344b and a plurality of toes 346b similar to the instep portion 344a and the plurality of toes 346a, respectively, of the limb 312a. Accordingly, a detailed explanation for the limb 312b has been avoided for sake of brevity.


The game package, as explained herein in conjunction with FIGS. 1 and 2, may be manufactured in a cost effective manner. More specifically, as explained herein the disclosed action figure includes a simple mechanism that enables movements between various parts of the action figure. Additionally, the game package may be configured to have a lightweight configuration. Specifically, the action figure and the mixed martial arts ring may be composed of a lightweight material, such as a plastic material, a rubber material and the like.

Claims
  • 1. A game package comprising: at least one action figure for simulating a plurality of mixed martial arts postures, the at least one action figure comprising: an upper torso having a top end portion, a bottom end portion and a pair of side end portions,a neck portion having a top end portion and a bottom end portion, the bottom end portion of the neck portion movably coupled to the top end portion of the upper torso,a head portion movably coupled to the top end portion of the neck portion,a first pair of limbs movably coupled to the pair of side end portions of the upper torso,a lower torso having a top end portion and a pair of side end portions, the top end portion of the lower torso movably coupled to the bottom end portion of the upper torso, anda second pair of limbs movably coupled to the pair of side end portions of the lower torso; anda mixed martial arts ring adapted to support the at least one action figure thereon.
  • 2. The game package of claim 1 further comprising at least one accessory associated with the action figure.
  • 3. The game package of claim 2, wherein the at least one accessory comprises at least one of a title belt and a trading card.
  • 4. The game package claim of 1, further comprising decorative accessories associated with the mixed martial arts ring.
  • 5. An action figure for simulating a plurality of mixed martial arts postures, the action figure comprising: an upper torso having a top end portion, a bottom end portion and a pair of side end portions;a neck portion having a top end portion and a bottom end portion, the bottom end portion of the neck portion movably coupled to the top end portion of the upper torso;a head portion movably coupled to the top end portion of the neck portion;a first pair of limbs movably coupled to the pair of side end portions of the upper torso;a lower torso having a top end portion and a bottom end portion, the top end portion of the lower torso movably coupled to the bottom end portion of the upper torso; anda second pair of limbs movably coupled to the bottom end portion of the lower torso.
  • 6. The action figure of claim 5, wherein each limb of the first pair of limbs comprises an upper arm portion movably coupled to a side end portion of the pair of side end portions of the upper torso,a lower arm portion movably coupled to the upper arm portion, anda hand portion movably coupled to the lower arm portion.
  • 7. The action figure of claim 6, wherein the hand portion comprises a palm portion movably coupled to lower arm portion, and a plurality of fingers movably coupled to the palm portion.
  • 8. The action figure of claim 5, wherein each limb of the second pair of limbs comprises an upper leg portion movably coupled to the lower torso,a lower leg portion movably coupled to the upper leg portion, anda foot portion movably coupled to the lower leg portion.
  • 9. The action figure of claim 8, wherein the foot portion comprises an instep portion movably coupled to the lower leg portion, anda plurality of toes movably coupled to the instep portion.
