Claims
- 1. A gaming device comprising:
a processor; a plurality of stored sound files; a memory device accessible by the processor; and a game program stored in the memory device, wherein the processor operates in accordance with the game program to: (i) pitch-shift one of the sound files; and (ii) play the pitch-shifted sound file via a sound emitting device.
- 2. The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein the pitch-shifted sound file is a sped up version of the one sound file.
- 3. The gaming device of claim 1, wherein the pitch-shifted sound file is a slowed down version of the one sound file.
- 4. The gaming device of claim 1, wherein a pitch produced by the pitch-shifted sound file is different than a pitch of the one sound file.
- 5. The gaming device of claim 1, wherein a tempo produced by the pitch-shifted sound file is different than a pitch of the one sound file.
- 6. The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein a key of the pitch-shifted sound file is different than a pitch of the one sound file.
- 7. The gaming device of claim 1 , wherein a duration of the pitch-shifted sound file is different than a duration of the one sound file.
- 8. The gaming device of claim 1, wherein the pitch-shifted second sound file is produced via a modified sample rate.
- 9. A gaming device comprising:
a processor; a plurality of stored sound files; a memory device accessible by the processor; and a game program stored in the memory device, wherein the processor operates in accordance with the game program to: (i) select a first one of the plurality of sound files; (ii) select a second one of the plurality of sound files; (iii) pitch-shift the second sound file based on the selected first sound file; and (iv) play the first sound file and the pitch-shifted sound file via a sound emitting device.
- 10. The gaming device of claim 9, wherein the first sound file and the pitch-shifted sound file are configured to be concurrently played by the sound emitting device.
- 11. The gaming device of claim 9, wherein the first sound file and the pitch-shifted sound file are configured to be sequentially played by the sound emitting device.
- 12. The gaming device of claim 9, wherein the pitch-shifted sound file has been sped up or slowed down to match a duration of the first sound file.
- 13. The gaming device of claim 9, wherein a pitch produced by the pitch-shifted sound file is musically compatible with a pitch of the first sound file.
- 14. The gaming device of claim 9, wherein a tempo produced by the pitch-shifted sound file is musically compatible with a tempo of the first sound file.
- 15. The gaming device of claim 9, wherein a key of the pitch-shifted sound file is musically compatible with a key of the first sound file.
- 16. The gaming device of claim 9, which includes a set of reels controlled by the processor, and wherein the first sound file and the pitch-shifted sound file are played during a spin of the set of reels.
- 17. The gaming device of claim 9, which includes a display device controlled by the processor, and wherein the first sound file and the pitch-shifted sound file are played during an event displayed by the display device.
- 18. The gaming device of claim 17, wherein the event is selected from the group consisting of: a credit roll-up, a bonus round triggering event, a player input, an award of a jackpot, a display designed to attract the player to play and a cash out.
- 19. A gaming device comprising:
a processor; a plurality of stored sound files; a memory device accessible by the processor; and a game program stored in the memory device, wherein the processor operates in accordance with the game program to: (i) select a sound file from the plurality of sound files; (ii) pitch-shift the sound file in accordance with a game event; and (iii) play the pitch-shifted sound file via a sound emitting device.
- 20. The gaming device of claim 19, wherein the game event is selected from the group consisting of: a credit roll-up, a bonus round triggering event, a player input, an award of a jackpot, a display designed to attract the player to play and a cash out.
- 21. The gaming device of claim 19, wherein the event includes a selection of an input by a player from a plurality of possible input selections, the sound file pitch-shifted in accordance with the selected input.
- 22. The gaming device of claim 21, wherein the sound file is pitch-shifted differently if the player selects a different input.
- 23. A gaming device comprising:
a processor; a plurality of stored sound files; a memory device accessible by the processor; and a game program stored in the memory device, wherein the processor operates in accordance with the game program to: (i) select a sound file from the plurality of sound files; and (ii) create a melody, the melody including the sound file pitch-shifted to produce a first pitch for a first amount of time and to produce a second pitch for a second amount of time; and (iii) play the melody via a sound emitting device.
- 24. The gaming device of claim 23, wherein the melody includes a plurality of pitch-shifts of the sound file.
- 25. The gaming device of claim 23, wherein the processor operates in accordance with the game program to create a plurality of melodies by modulating pitch and duration of the plurality of files.
- 26. The gaming device of claim 25, wherein the plurality of melodies are configured to be concurrently played by the at least one speaker.
- 27. The gaming device of claim 25, wherein the plurality of melodies are configured to be sequentially played by the at least one speaker.
