BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
(1) Field of the Invention

The disclosure relates to garment assemblies and more particularly pertains to a new garment assembly for medical professionals.

(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98

The prior art relates to garment assemblies.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a scrub top and a scrub trousers that are configured to be donned by a user. Each of a set of first panels has opposing side edges and a bottom edge that are coupled to one of the scrub top and the scrub trousers to define a first pocket. Each of a set of bands, which are resiliently stretchable, is coupled to a top edge of a respective first panel so that the band is configured to be stretched to insert an article into an associated first pocket and to rebound to retain the article in the associated first pocket.

There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)

The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:

FIG. 1 is a front view of a garment assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 2 is a back view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 3 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

FIG. 4 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new garment assembly embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the garment assembly 10 generally comprises a scrub top 12 and a scrub trousers 14 that are configured to be donned by a user. Each of a set of first panels 16 has opposing side edges 18 and a bottom edge 20 that are coupled to one of the scrub top 12 and the scrub trousers 14 to define a first pocket 22. Each of a set of bands 24, which comprise elastomer and are thus are resiliently stretchable, is coupled to a top edge 26 of a respective first panel 16 so that the band 24 is configured to be stretched to insert an article into an associated first pocket 22 and to rebound to retain the article in the associated first pocket 22. Prior garment assemblies lack the bands 24 and therefore objects positioned in pockets of prior art garment assemblies are prone to falling out as the user bends over.

Legs 52 of the scrub trousers 14 are tapered from proximate to a crotch 28 of the scrub trousers 14 to leg openings 30 of the scrub trousers 14. The tapering of the legs 52 promotes retention of heat and helps to keep the user warm.

The scrub top 12 and the scrub trousers 14 are resiliently stretchable so that the scrub top 12 and the scrub trousers 14 are substantially form fitting. The scrub top 12 and the scrub trousers 14 comprise stretch fabric. The scrub top 12 and the scrub trousers 14 comprise polyether-polyurea copolymer. Prior garment assemblies are not form fitting and thus are prone to snagging on catch points as the user moves about.

The set of first panels 16 comprises two first panels 16 that are positioned on the scrub trousers 14 so that the first panels 16 are positioned singly over thighs of the user, as shown in FIG. 1. The associated first pockets 22 are particularly suited to stow larger articles, such as cellular phones and the like.

The set of first panels 16 comprises a first panel 16 that is positioned on the scrub trousers 14 so that the first panel 16 is positioned proximate to a respective buttock of the user. The first panel 16 may be positioned proximate to a right buttock of the user, as shown in FIG. 2, so as to be most conveniently positioned for a right-handed user.

The set of first panels 16 comprises a first panel 16 that is positioned on the scrub top 12 so that the first panel 16 is positioned proximate to a respective breast of the user. The first panel 16 may be positioned proximate to a left breast of the user, as shown in FIG. 3, so as to be most conveniently positioned for the right-handed user.

The set of first panels 16 comprises a first panel 16 that is positioned on the scrub top 12 so that the first panel 16 is positioned proximate to a respective shoulder of the user. The first panel 16 may be positioned proximate to a left shoulder of the user, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, so as to be most conveniently positioned for the right-handed user.

A sheath 32 is coupled to and extends circumferentially around a waist 34 of the scrub trousers 14, as shown in FIG. 1. A slit 36 is substantially centrally positioned in a front of the sheath 32. A string 38 is positioned in the sheath 32 so that opposing ends 40 of the string 38 extend from the slit 36. The string 38 is positioned to be grasped proximate to the opposing ends 40, positioning the user to draw and tie the string 38 to secure the scrub trousers 14 around a waistline of the user.

Each of a pair of second panels 42 has opposing side limits 44 and a bottom limit 46 that are coupled to the scrub trousers 14 to define a second pocket 48, as shown in FIG. 1. The second panels 42 are positioned singly proximate to opposing sides 50 and the waist 34 of the scrub trousers 14. Each second pocket 48 is configured to position at least one of a respective hand of the user and an item. The second pockets 48 are positioned such that they can be used to keep the hands of the user warm.

In use, the scrub top 12 and the scrub trousers 14 are donned by the user. As may be required, the first pockets 22 and the second pockets 48 are available to the user to stow and retain articles and items of the user.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the elements is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
