Abstract
Apparatuses, garments, undergarments, and systems for suppressing genital bulge for a person with a penis are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a garment includes a body component having a left leg opening, a right leg opening, and a torso opening. The body component includes an inner layer and a compression component. The inner layer comprises a skin-facing side, and the compression component is configured on a side opposite the skin-facing side of the inner layer. An appendage compartment is configured to have an appendage compartment opening on the skin-facing side of the inner layer. The garment can suppress genital bulge by compressing, with the compression component, a penis received in the appendage compartment in a rearward direction, between the left leg opening and right leg opening.
Description
BACKGROUND

Whether for stylistic, personal, functional, or other reasons, garments for the lower part of a person's body, like pants, skirts, and leggings, are often configured to be form-fitting. Form-fitting garments offer little room in the crotch of a wearer, between the garment and the wearer's body, for external genitals including a penis and testicles. Accordingly, people with external genitals may display a genital bulge while wearing many garments. A visible genital bulge may be undesirable for many people.


SUMMARY

This Summary is provided to introduce a selection of concepts in a simplified form that are further described below in the Detailed Description. This Summary is not intended to identify key features or essential features of the claimed subject matter, nor is it intended to be used to limit the scope of the claimed subject matter.


A person can reduce the appearance of a genital bulge caused by external genitals by securing the penis and/or testicles against their body. For example, to reduce the prominence of a genital bulge, some people tape their penis and testicles to their body. Another option for reducing the appearance of a genital bulge is for a person to wear a gaff, which is an undergarment for “tucking” the external genitals by arranging and restricting the movement of at least the penis in a position between legs of the person.


Conventional strategies for reducing the appearance of a genital bulge are unsatisfactory for many people. Tape can harm a wearer's skin and is inconvenient for the wearer to detach and reattach for urination. Existing gaffs do not tuck external genitals tightly enough against the body to reduce the appearance of a genital bulge to an acceptable level. Indeed, many gaff wearers use multiple gaffs in order to further reduce the appearance of a genital bulge. Additionally, conventional gaffs do not properly secure external genitals from movement, and wearers often must adjust their external genitals to a position of minimal genital bulge. More broadly, strategies for reducing the prominence of a genital bulge result in undesirable skin-to-skin contact between skin of a penis and another body part, often causing chafing and itching.


Several embodiments of the disclosed technology can comfortably suppress genital bulge by securing and compressing a penis between a person's legs in a direction of the person's rear end. Several embodiments of the disclosed technology can separate a penis and scrotum for reducing chafing between skin of the penis and the scrotum. Several embodiments of the disclosed technology can comprise an undergarment that can be dressed on and removed off a person quickly and easily without hurting the person or causing damage or irritation to the person's skin. Several embodiments of the disclosed technology comprise a garment including an appendage compartment and a compression component. The garment can be configured such that when worn the compression component exerts a rearward force on a penis placed in the appendage compartment, forcing the penis in a direction of a rear end of the person and compressing the penis between the person's legs, thereby suppressing genital bulge.


A garment according to embodiments of the disclosure can be configured to comprise a torso opening and left and right leg openings. The garment can comprise an inner layer having a skin-facing side configured to contact, at least in part, skin of a person wearing the garment. In some embodiments, the garment can comprise an undergarment.


The garment is configured to comprise a compression component. In some embodiments, the compression component comprises a compression layer of the garment. In some embodiments, the compression layer can comprise a layer of compression material configured on a side opposite the skin-facing side of the inner layer of the garment. In some implementations, the compression layer is bonded and/or sewn in a seam at least partially around the torso opening. In some embodiments, the compression layer is configured continuously between the seam at a front of the garment and the seam at a back of a garment, through the left and right leg openings of garment. In some embodiments, the compression layer is configured surrounding the torso opening of the garment. In some embodiments, the compression layer comprises a stretch mesh fabric. For example, the compression layer can comprise nylon, modal, rayon, spandex, rubber, cotton, polyester, bamboo, hemp, recycled fibers, or elastane


The garment can comprise an appendage compartment opening on the skin-facing side of the inner layer. In some embodiments, the appendage compartment comprises an appendage sleeve. In some embodiments, the appendage compartment is defined at least in part by the appendage sleeve and the inner layer of the garment. In some embodiments, the appendage sleeve can be configured on the skin-facing side of the inner layer of the garment, at least in part between the first and second leg openings of the garment. In some embodiments, the appendage sleeve can comprise a layer of material patterned to have a rectangular shape that is attached by an attachment mechanism along its opposing longer sides to the inner layer of the garment. For example, the appendage sleeve can comprise a fabric piece sewn and/or bonded along opposing sides at seams defining the left and right leg openings of the garment.


The appendage compartment can comprise the appendage compartment opening that provides access to an internal volume of the appendage compartment. In some embodiments, the garment can be configured to include the appendage compartment opening at a location of the garment that meets a base of a person's penis when the garment is worn. For example, in some embodiments, the appendage compartment opening can be configured on a front side of the garment at a location between the left and right leg openings of the garment.


A benefit according to several embodiments is that a penis can be secured and compressed, reducing an appearance of genital bulge. Another benefit according to several embodiments of the disclosure is that a penis can be separated from a person's body such that skin of the penis is prevented from touching other skin, including the scrotum, thereby reducing or eliminating chaffing associated with the penis while secured. Another benefit according to several embodiments is that testicles can be secured and protected in a position that reduces an appearance of genital bulge. Another benefit according to several embodiments is that genital bulge can be reduced in a hygienic and comfortable manner. Another benefit according to several embodiments of an undergarment disclosed herein is that the undergarment can be both dressed on a person and removed from the person quickly, easily, and without causing discomfort. Another benefit according to several embodiments is that a penis and/or testicles can be secured so that a wearer can comfortably and confidently live without risk of accidental penis slippage and/or exposure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Certain embodiments of apparatuses, systems, devices, components, modules, articles of clothing, and garments for suppressing genital bulge are described below. In the following description, specific details of components are included to provide a thorough understanding of certain embodiments of the disclosed technology. A person skilled in the relevant art will also understand that the technology can have additional embodiments. The technology can also be practiced without several of the details of the embodiments described below with reference to FIGS. 1A-7B.


As used herein, the term “skin-facing side” refers to a side of a garment or a layer of the garment that faces inward toward a person wearing the garment.



FIGS. 1A-B are schematic perspective views of a garment 100 configured to suppress genital bulge in accordance with embodiments of the disclosed technology. FIG. 1A shows the garment 100 from a front-left view, showing a front 101a and a left leg opening 110b of the garment in a foreground, and FIG. 1B shows the garment 100 from a back-right view, showing a back 101b of the garment 100 and right leg opening 110a in the foreground.


As shown in FIG. 1A, the garment 100 can be configured to comprise a band component 102, a body component 104, and an appendage sleeve 106. The appendage sleeve 106 can be configured on a skin-facing side 113a of an inner layer 112 of material of the body component 104. The garment 100 can comprise an appendage compartment (not shown) comprising a volume defined, at least in part, by the appendage sleeve 106 and the inner layer 112 of the body component 104. FIG. 1B shows an appendage compartment opening 114 of the appendage compartment, configured on the inner layer 112 of the body component 104. In some embodiments, the appendage compartment opening 114 is configured at a location on the inner layer 112 that meets a base of a penis of a person wearing the garment 100. In some embodiments, the location on the inner layer 112 that meets the base of a penis is on the front 101a of the garment 100.


The garment 100 includes a torso opening 108, the right leg opening 110a, and the left leg opening 110b. The garment 100 can be configured to be worn by a person such that the front 101a of the undergarment 100 is on a face side of the person and the back 101b of the undergarment is on a rear end side of the person when a right leg of the person is inserted through the right leg opening 110a, a left leg of the person is inserted through the left leg opening 110b, and the garment 100 is pulled up to the person's waist, with a torso of the person inserted through the torso opening 108 and the band component 102 positioned between a penis of the person and the person's bellybutton. A penis of the person wearing the garment 100 can be inserted in the appendage compartment via the appendage compartment opening 114, and directed toward the back 101b of the garment, between the left and right leg openings 110a-b.


The garment 100 can be configured to fit tightly around a person's waist at the torso opening 108. In some implementations, the garment 100 can be configured to include the band component 102 defining the torso opening 108. In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 1A, the band component 102 can comprise a strip of material having a length that defines the torso opening 108, sewn and/or bonded at its ends in a band seam 127 and to the body component 104 along the length of the strip of material, at a waist seam 120 around the torso opening 108.


The band component 102 can be configured to restrict movement of the garment 100 relative to a torso of a person wearing the garment 100. In some embodiments, the band component 102 can comprise an elastic waistband. For example, in some embodiments, the band component 102 can comprise a layer of knit elastic. Other suitable materials include nylon, modal, rayon, spandex, rubber, or elastane. In some embodiments, the band component 102 can comprise a material that is inelastic. For example, in some embodiments, the band component 102 can include a drawstring that is inelastic. Suitable materials for the band component comprising an inelastic material include cotton, polyester, bamboo, hemp, or recycled fibers. In some embodiments, the band component 102 can also comprise at least one layer of the body component 104. For example, as discussed herein, the band component 102 can also comprise a compression layer of the body component 104. As another example, the band component 102 can be configured to comprise the inner layer 112 and outer layer 116 of the body component 104.


In some embodiments, the garment 100 can be configured to not include the band component 102. For example, the torso opening 108 can be defined by a top edge of the body component 104, such where the waist seam 120 is shown in FIG. 1A. In some embodiments, the band component 102 can consist of the inner layer 112 and outer layer 116 sewn and/or bonded together. Similarly, in some embodiments, the band component 102 can consist of the inner layer 112, outer layer 116, and compression layer sewn and/or bonded together.


The body component 104 can comprise multiple layers of material cut according to a pattern and sewn and/or bonded together. As shown in FIG. 1A, at least some of the multiple layers of material can be sewn and/or bonded together at waist seam 120, right and left body side seams 115a-b, and leg seams 107a-b, which can be configured to define left and right leg openings 110a-b, respectively. In some embodiments, at least one of the multiple layers of fabric from the body component 104 is sewn and/or bonded with the band component 102 via the band seam 127. In some embodiments, the body component 104 can comprise more or fewer seams. The body component can be configured by being cut according to a pattern and sewn and/or bonded, defining the right leg opening 110a, the left leg opening 110b, and the torso opening 108.


As shown in FIG. 1A-B, the body component 104 comprises the inner layer 112 comprising the skin-facing side 113a. The inner layer 112 can comprise any of various suitable materials. In some embodiments, the inner layer 112 can comprise a moisture-wicking fabric. For example, the inner layer 112 can comprise a performance stretch nylon fabric. In other embodiments, the inner layer 112 can comprise modal, rayon, spandex, rubber, cotton, polyester, bamboo, hemp, recycled fibers, or elastane.


In some embodiments, the body component 104 also comprises at least one outer layer 116. The outer layer 116 can comprise any of various suitable materials. In some embodiments, the outer layer 116 can comprise a moisture-wicking fabric. For example, in some embodiments, the outer layer 116 can comprise a performance stretch nylon. In some embodiments, the outer layer 116 is a superficial layer of the body component 104. In some embodiments, the outer layer 116 can comprise briefs. In some embodiments, the outer layer 116 can comprise a thong. In some embodiments, the outer layer 116 can comprise form-fitting pants, such as yoga pants or biker shorts. In some embodiments, the outer layer 116 can comprise boxer briefs. As shown in FIG. 1A-B, the garment 100 can be configured to include both the inner layer 112 and the outer layer 116 in the front 101a and the back 101b of the garment 100. Also as shown in FIG. 1A-B, the inner layer 112 and outer layer 116 can be configured sewn and/or bonded together at the leg seams 107a-b.


The body component 104 can also be configured to comprise a compression component. In some embodiments, the compression component can comprise a compression layer. FIG. 1B shows a cutaway 117 of the outer layer 116, showing a compression layer 118 that is configured between the inner layer 112 and the outer layer 116, on a side of the inner layer 112 opposite the skin-facing side 113a of the inner layer 112. The compression layer 118 is shown highlighted by a hatch pattern in FIG. 1B.



FIG. 2A shows a schematic front left perspective view of the garment 100 including a depiction of the compression layer 118, which is shown highlighted by a hatch pattern in FIG. 2A, that is configured between the inner layer 112 and outer layer 116. In some embodiments, the compression layer 118 can be configured to comprise material cut in a pattern as shown in FIG. 2A and attached to at least one other layer of the body component 104 and/or the band component 102. The compression layer can be attached to other layers of the body component by being sewn and/or bonded to the other layers. FIG. 2A shows a compression seam 121, shown with a dashed line around the torso opening 108, including in the front 101a and the back 101b of the garment 100. In some embodiments, the compression seam 121 can be configured to attach the compression layer 118 to the inner layer 112. In some embodiments, the compression seam 121 can be configured to attach the compression layer 118 to the band component 102 and/or the outer layer 116. In some embodiments, at least a portion of the compression seam 121 comprises the band seam 127. In some embodiments, the waist seam 120 comprises the compression seam 121. For example, in some embodiments, the inner layer 112, outer layer 116, and compression layer 118 can be sewn and/or bonded together around the torso opening 108 by the waist seam 120.


In some embodiments, the compression layer 118 can be constructed in a pattern and attached to the garment 100 such that the compression layer 118 includes material on the front 101a of the body component 104 and on the back 101b of the body component 104, with a continuous portion of material from the front 101a to the back 101b included in an area between the left and right leg openings 110a-b. In some embodiments, the compression layer 118 is only attached to the body component 104 at a location near the torso opening, such as at the band component 102, as shown in FIG. 2A. In other embodiments, the compression layer 118 can be attached to the inner layer 112 and/or outer layer 116 at other locations as well, including, for example at least partially around a perimeter of the compression layer 118 between the left leg opening 110b and the right leg opening 110a.


In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 2A, the compression layer 118 can be configured in a pattern that includes a greater surface area for a portion of the compression layer 118 that is on the back 101b of the garment 100 relative to the portion of the compression layer 118 that is on the front 101a of the garment 100. In some embodiments, a larger surface area of the portion of the compression layer 118 on the back 101b than the front 101a can, when worn by a person, generate a stronger rearward compression of a penis in an appendage compartment, and a greater suppression of genital bulge, than if the surface area of the back 101b were equal to or smaller than that of the front 101a.


As shown in FIG. 2A, the compression layer 118 can be configured to have a surface area that is less than the surface area of the inner layer 112. In some embodiments, the compression layer 118 can be configured to cover a surface area that is approximately equal to, or only slightly less than, the surface area of the inner layer 112. As shown in FIG. 2A, the compression layer 118 can be configured to have a surface area that is less than the surface area of the outer layer 116. In some embodiments, the compression layer 118 can be configured to cover a surface area that is equal to, or slightly less than, the surface area of the outer layer 116.


Also shown in FIG. 2A, the band component 102 can be configured to include the compression layer 118. In some embodiments, the band component 102 does not include the compression layer 118. For example, in some embodiments, the compression layer 118 can be configured in a pattern that does not include material that extends into the band component 102, and the compression layer 118 can be affixed to the inner layer 112 near the band component 102 on at least both the front 101a and back 101b of the garment 100. In embodiments that include no band component 102, the compression layer 118 can be affixed to the inner layer at locations near the torso opening 108. For example, the compression layer 118 can be affixed to the inner layer at the compression seam 121, which defines the torso opening 108. In some embodiments, the compression layer 118 can be configured to be double layered around the torso opening 108. For example, in some embodiments, the compression layer 118 can be folded and sewn to itself by the compression seam 121 such that the band component includes two layers of the compression layer 118. A double layered compression layer 118 around the torso opening 108 can provide an improved hold around a torso of a person.


The compression layer 118 can comprise a compression material. In some embodiments, a compression material comprises a stretch mesh fabric. For example, suitable materials include nylon, modal, rayon, spandex, rubber, cotton, polyester, bamboo, hemp, recycled fibers, or elastane. In some embodiments, the compression material can comprise spandex.



FIG. 2B shows a schematic front-left perspective view of the garment 100 including a depiction of an appendage compartment 122, which is shown highlighted with a hatch pattern in FIG. 2B. The appendage compartment 122 can comprise a volume defined, at least in part, by the appendage sleeve 106 and the skin-facing side 113a of the inner layer 112 of the body component 104. FIG. 2B shows a depiction of an appendage compartment opening 114, which is configured to receive a penis of a person wearing the garment 100. In some embodiments, the appendage compartment opening 114 is configured to contact a person wearing the garment 100 at a base of the penis. The appendage compartment 122 can be configured to comprise a volume between the appendage sleeve 106 and the inner layer 112, from the appendage compartment opening 114 toward the back 101b of the garment 100 to an opposite end of the appendage sleeve 106.


The appendage sleeve 106 can be affixed to the inner layer 112 of the body component 104. In some embodiments, the appendage sleeve 106 can be affixed by being sewn and/or bonded to the inner layer 112 along the left leg opening 110a and along the right leg opening 110b. In some embodiments, the appendage sleeve 106 can be sewn and/or bonded to the inner layer 112 at an end of the appendage sleeve that is opposite the appendage compartment opening 114. In some embodiments, the end opposite the appendage compartment opening 114 can be unattached to the inner layer 112.


The appendage sleeve 106 can be configured to separate a penis inserted in the appendage compartment opening 114 from other skin of a person wearing the garment 100. In some embodiments, the appendage sleeve 106 can be configured to comprise a moisture-wicking fabric. For example, the appendage sleeve 106 can comprise nylon, modal, rayon, spandex, rubber, cotton, polyester, bamboo, hemp, recycled fibers, or elastane.



FIG. 2C shows a schematic perspective exploded view of the garment 100 according to embodiments of the disclosure. FIG. 2C shows the band component 102, the appendage sleeve 106, the inner layer 112, the compression layer 118, and the outer layer 116. The appendage sleeve 106 can be configured attached by being bonded and/or sewn to the skin-facing surface of the inner layer 112. The compression layer 118 can be configured between the inner layer 112 and the outer layer 116. The band component 102 can be configured to comprise a strip of material attached to the inner layer 112, outer layer 116, and/or compression layer 118. In some embodiments, the band component 102 can be configured to include at least a portion of the inner layer 112, compression layer 118, and outer layer 116. In some embodiments, the strip of material comprising the band component 102 can be configured between the inner layer 112 and the compression layer 118. In other embodiments, the strip of material comprising the band component 102 can be configured on the skin-facing side of the inner layer 112. In other embodiments, the strip of material comprising the band component 102 can be configured between the outer layer 116 and the compression layer 118. In other embodiments, the strip of material comprising the band component 102 can be configured on a side of the outer layer 116 opposite the compression layer 118.



FIG. 3A shows a schematic top plan view of the garment 100 according to embodiments of the disclosure. The body component 104 comprises the right and left leg openings 110a-b. The garment also includes the band component 102.


As shown in FIG. 3A, the garment 100 comprises the appendage sleeve 106 configured on the skin-facing side 113a of the inner layer 112 of the body component 104. As shown, the appendage sleeve 106 can be configured having the appendage compartment opening 114 on the front 101a of the garment 100. The appendage sleeve 106 can be affixed to the inner layer 112 of the body component 104 by being sewn and/or bonded to the inner layer 112. As shown in FIG. 3A, in some embodiments, the appendage sleeve 106 can be sewn and/or bonded to the inner layer 112 by opposing appendage sleeve seams 124 along the left and right leg openings 110a-b. A side of the appendage sleeve 106 opposite the appendage compartment opening 114 can be configured unattached to the inner layer 112. In some embodiments, the side opposite the appendage compartment opening can be configured attached to the inner layer 112.


In some embodiments, the appendage sleeve 106 can be configured such that the appendage compartment opening 114 fits snugly around a penis inserted in the opening. As shown in FIG. 3A, in some embodiments, the appendage sleeve 106 can comprise a restriction component 123 configured to help restrict movement of a penis inserted in the appendage compartment when the garment 100 is worn. For example, the restriction component 123 can comprise a strip of elastic applied to an end of the appendage sleeve that defines the appendage compartment opening 114. In some embodiments, the opposing appendage sleeve seams 124 can be configured closer together than shown, and the appendage sleeve 106 can be patterned such that the appendage compartment is separated by a distance from each of the left and right leg openings 110a-b.



FIG. 3B shows a schematic bottom plan view of the garment 100 comprising the inner layer 112 and the compression layer 118, according to embodiments of the disclosure. In FIG. 3B, the compression layer 118 is shown highlighted by a hatch pattern. The outer layer is not shown in FIG. 3B. The compression layer 118 is configured on an outer side 113b of the inner layer 112, opposite the skin-facing side 113a of the inner layer 112. The compression layer 118 can be affixed to the inner layer 112 via the compression seam 121. In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 3B, the compression layer 118 can also be affixed to the inner layer 112 by being sewn and/or bonded to the inner layer 112 via compression side seams 125a-b. As shown in FIG. 3B, in some embodiments, the compression layer 118 can comprise a single piece of material that surrounds the torso opening and that also is configured between the left leg opening 110b and the right leg opening 110a.



FIG. 4 shows a schematic side view of a garment 200, configured according to embodiments of the disclosure, being worn by a person, including a penis 202 of the person inserted in the appendage compartment 122. FIG. 4 includes a depiction of the appendage sleeve 106 shown with a dot-dash line, the penis 202 and a testicle 204 shown using a dot line, and the compression layer 118 with a dash line. The appendage compartment 122 is configured between the left leg opening 110b and the right leg opening (not shown). The penis 202 is inserted in the appendage compartment opening 114 and directed toward the back 101b of the garment 200. The compression layer 118 is configured to compress the penis 202. The compression layer can be configured to exert a force on the penis 202 in a direction of the back 101b of the garment 200. The appendage sleeve 106 separates the skin of the penis 202 from other skin of the body. The band component 102 is shown around a torso 206 of the person. FIG. 4 shows testicles 204 of the person tucked into the inguinal canal via sockets located at the pelvic floor.



FIG. 5A shows a schematic front plan view of briefs underwear 300, and FIG. 5B shows a schematic back plan view of the briefs underwear 300, configured in accordance with several embodiments of the disclosure. FIGS. 5A-B show a depiction of the compression layer 118, which is shown highlighted by a hatch pattern. The compression layer 118 is configured internal in the body component 104, between an inner layer 112 and an outer layer 116. The waist seam 120 is configured to attach the compression layer 118 and the inner layer 112 and outer layer 116. FIGS. 5A-B also show a depiction of the appendage compartment 122, which is outlined with a dashed line. FIG. 7A shows a schematic front plan view of biker shorts 304, and FIG. 7B shows a schematic back plan view of the biker shorts 304, configured in accordance with several embodiments of the disclosure. FIGS. 7A-B show a depiction of the compression layer 118, which is shown highlighted by a hatch pattern. The compression layer 118 is configured internal in the body component 104, between an inner layer (not shown) and an outer layer 116. The waist seam 120 is configured to attach the compression layer 118 and the inner layer and outer layer 116. FIGS. 7A-B also show a depiction of the appendage compartment 122, which is outlined with a dashed line. The appendage compartment 122 comprises an appendage compartment opening (not shown) on the skin-facing side of the inner layer 112. The biker shorts comprise a gusset 306, which is outlined in a bold line, to which the appendage sleeve of the appendage compartment 122 can be sewn and/or bonded. The gusset 306 can comprise a layer of the body component 104 in addition to the outer layer 116 and inner layer (not shown). In some embodiments, the inner layer can be configured to have material matching a pattern shown for the outer layer 116. In other embodiments, the inner layer can be configured to have material matching a pattern that has less area than the outer layer 116. For example, the inner layer can be configured to have material matching a pattern of the inner layer 112 shown in FIG. 1A.


In some embodiments, a garment according to embodiments of the disclosed technology can be manufactured by constructing an inner layer of material in an inner layer pattern; constructing a compression layer of material in a compression layer pattern; constructing an outer layer of material in an outer layer pattern; attaching the inner layer of material, the compression layer of material, and the outer layer of material together around a torso opening of the garment; and attaching the inner layer of material and the outer layer of material around a left leg opening of the garment and around a right leg opening of the garment. The compression layer of material can be configured between the inner layer of material and the outer layer of material. The inner layer of material can be configured to comprise a skin-facing side opposite the compression layer of material, and an appendage sleeve can be attached on the skin-facing side of the inner layer of material. In some embodiments, attaching the inner layer of material, the compression layer of material, and the outer layer of material together around the torso opening of the garment can comprise attaching a band component around the torso opening. The band component can comprise the compression layer of material. In some embodiments, the compression layer of material surrounds the torso opening and is configured between the left leg opening and the right leg opening. The compression layer of material can comprise a single piece of material. In some embodiments, the compression layer of material can be attached to the inner layer of material and/or the outer layer of material in at least a location between the right leg opening and the left leg opening.


Specific embodiments of the technology have been described above for purposes of illustration. However, various modifications can be made without deviating from the foregoing disclosure. For example, in some embodiments, padding may be included in the garment to enhance a person's figure at the person's hips and/or glutes. As another example, in some embodiments, decorative enhancements can be added, such as inset lace and/or decorative seams. As a further example, in some embodiments, the garment can be configured to comprise a high waist. As another example, in some embodiments, the garment can be configured to include an added control top. As another example, in some embodiments, the garment can comprise a body suit. In addition, many of the elements of one embodiment can be combined with other embodiments in addition to or in lieu of the elements of the other embodiments. In some embodiments, elastic can be attached around the leg openings to provide extra stability. Accordingly, the technology is not limited except as by the appended claims. Furthermore, even if not labeled as such, Figures may not be drawn to scale.

Claims
  • 1. A garment for suppressing genital bulge, the garment comprising: an inner layer comprising a skin-facing side, the skin-facing side configured to contact, at least in part, skin of a person wearing the garment;a left leg opening for receiving a left leg of the person wearing the garment;a right leg opening for receiving a right leg of the person wearing the garment;a torso opening configured to receive a torso of the person wearing the garment;a compression component configured on a side of the inner layer opposite the skin-facing side, wherein the compression component is configured at least in part on a front of the garment and at least in part on a back of the garment, the front of the garment configured for wearing on a face side of the person wearing the garment and the back of the garment configured for wearing on a rear end side of the person wearing the garment.
  • 2. The garment of claim 1, further comprising: an appendage compartment configured at least partially between the left leg opening and the right leg opening, the appendage compartment comprising an appendage compartment opening on the skin-facing side of the inner layer, the appendage compartment opening configured to open to an internal volume of the appendage compartment.
  • 3. The garment of claim 1, wherein the garment includes an outer layer, wherein the outer layer is configured on a side of the compression component opposite the inner layer, and wherein the left and right leg openings are defined by an attachment of the inner layer and the outer layer.
  • 4. The garment of claim 1, further comprising a band configured to the inner layer around the torso opening, wherein the inner layer and the band are attached by an attachment around the torso opening, wherein the band comprises at least a portion of the compression component.
  • 5. The garment of claim 1, wherein the compression component comprises a compression layer attached to the inner layer at the front of the garment and at the back of the garment.
  • 6. The garment of claim 5, wherein the compression layer is attached to the inner layer at the torso opening.
  • 7. The garment of claim 1, wherein the compression component comprises a compression layer, and wherein the compression layer comprises a stretch-mesh fabric.
  • 8. The garment of claim 2, wherein the appendage compartment comprises an appendage sleeve configured to separate the penis of the person wearing the garment, received through the appendage opening, from other skin of the person.
  • 9. The garment of claim 1, wherein: the compression component comprises a compression layer,the compression layer comprises a single piece of fabric, andthe compression layer is configured encircling the torso opening and between the left leg opening and the right leg opening.
  • 10. An undergarment for suppressing genital bulge, the undergarment comprising: an inner layer of material, the inner layer of material comprising a skin-facing side, the skin-facing side configured to contact skin of a person wearing the undergarment;an appendage compartment comprising an appendage compartment opening configured on the skin-facing side of the inner layer, the appendage compartment opening configured to open to a volume of the appendage compartment located at least in part between a left leg opening of the undergarment and a right leg opening of the undergarment; anda compression layer of material configured on an opposite side of the skin-facing side of the inner layer of material.
  • 11. The undergarment of claim 10, wherein the undergarment further comprises an outer layer of material configured on an opposite side of the compression layer of material from the inner layer of material.
  • 12. The undergarment of claim 11, further comprising a band component comprising at least a portion of the compression layer of material.
  • 13. The undergarment of claim 10, wherein the compression layer of material comprises an elastic material.
  • 14. The undergarment of claim 10, wherein the appendage compartment comprises an appendage sleeve comprising fabric sewn and/or bonded to the undergarment, and the volume of the appendage compartment is defined, at least in part, by the appendage sleeve and the inner layer of material.
  • 15. The undergarment of claim 10, further comprising a torso opening configured to receive a torso of a person wearing the undergarment, wherein: the compression layer of material is configured surrounding the torso opening and between the left leg opening and the right leg opening.
  • 16. A method for manufacturing an undergarment that includes a compression component configured to exert a rearward force on a penis of a person wearing the undergarment, the method comprising: constructing an inner layer of material in an inner layer pattern;constructing a compression layer of material in a compression layer pattern;constructing an outer layer of material in an outer layer pattern;attaching the inner layer of material, the compression layer of material, and the outer layer of material together around a torso opening of the undergarment, wherein the compression layer of material is configured enclosed between the inner layer of material and the outer layer of material; andattaching the inner layer of material and the outer layer of material around a left leg opening of the undergarment and around a right leg opening of the undergarment.
  • 17. The method of claim 16, wherein the inner layer of material comprises a skin-facing side opposite the compression layer of material, and the method further comprises: attaching an appendage sleeve on a skin-facing side of the inner layer of material.
  • 18. The method of claim 16, wherein attaching the inner layer of material, the compression layer of material, and the outer layer of material together around the torso opening of the undergarment comprises attaching a band component around the torso opening, the band component comprising the compression layer of material enclosed by the outer layer of material and the inner layer of material.
  • 19. The method of claim 16, wherein the compression layer of material surrounds the torso opening and is configured between the right leg opening and the left leg opening.
  • 20. The method of claim 19, further comprising attaching the compression layer of material to the inner layer of material in a location between the right leg opening and the left leg opening.
