Abstract
An illusive backless garment includes a front portion that covers breasts of a wearer, and a back portion connected to distal edges of the front portion and that surrounds at least a portion of a rear side of a torso of the wearer. The back portion includes a mesh that is nude color or substantially transparent. Such garment is an illusively backless bra or bralette.
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The embodiments described herein pertain generally to illusive backless garment, and more particularly, to illusive backless bra for providing seamless appearance, supporting breasts, and not only for providing back support and back compression to a wearer, but also for providing a virtually invisible back surface to the bra.

BACKGROUND

In the production of undergarments, a bra is often required so that it can be worn with backless, low cut, bare-shoulder, or other revealing garments. For example, when a backless dress or top is worn, a bra that cannot be seen or is virtually invisible to others is needed. Such bra should maintain seamless appearance, uniform lift, compression, and support not only for the wearer's breasts but also the wearer's back.

Conventional undergarments employ one of the following four options for the backless bra on the market. The first option is a sticky cup with no straps that adheres to the wearer's breasts with sticky glue. The first option does not offer adequate support to the wearer's breasts or back, and moreover also weighs down the wearer's breasts. When the wearer is doing daily activities such as dancing, perspiring, running, yoga or any other athletic or physical activity, the sticky cups tend to lose their grip and slip off from the breasts. Also, the sticky cups are equipped with an adhesive layer which make it difficult to remove from skin of the wearer. The adhesive layer on the sticky bra often gets excessively stuck to the skin, thereby causing pain when the wearer removes them. Often, the sticky cups with no straps are not reusable. The second option is a strappy bra that pinches side and back skin creating unflattering pinched skin where the wearer experiences side or back bulge, commonly referred to as bra bulge. The third option is a bra with a holster style strap wherein the cups lift away from the breasts, and create no support. The fourth option is a bra with a plastic strap that digs into the wearer's back and is still visible because of the conspicuous nature of the plastic strap. The color of the plastic strap often turns cloudy after washing, thereby losing the invisible clear appearance. Further, the plastic strap also causes the wearer experience bra bulge.

No existing backless bra option provides seamless appearance, support for breasts and back, back compression to the wearer, or virtually invisible backside of the bra.

Therefore, there exists the need for a garment which is illusively backless, that can be worn with revealing clothing or any clothing, while also providing seamless appearance, support for back and breasts, back compression to the wearer, and smoothing the effect of undesirable bra bulge. The revealing clothing includes asymmetric clothing, strapless clothing, low-back clothing, sleeveless or racerback clothing, low-cut sides and backless halter dress, plunging neckline clothing, low-cut with narrow straps, front-plunging and backless dress, etc.

SUMMARY

An embodiment of the present application provides an illusively backless bra that provides the bra with virtually invisible back surface, allows for seamless appearance, supports breasts and back, provides back compression, and smooths the undesirable bra bulge.

One or more embodiments of the present application relate to an illusively backless garment which includes a front portion that covers breasts of a wearer, and a back portion connected to distal edges of the front portion, wherein the back portion surrounds at least a portion of the rear side of the torso of the wearer. Further, the present application provides that the back portion includes a mesh that is nude color or substantially transparent. The illusively backless garment can be an illusively backless bra or an illusively backless bralette.

Several embodiments of the present application relate to the back portion of the illusively backless garment to comprise a mesh that is nude color or substantially transparent, thereby providing the illusion of being backless or substantially transparent, but at the same time also supporting the wearer's back and breasts and providing adequate compression to the wearer.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

In the following detailed description, reference is made to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of the description. In the drawings, similar symbols typically identify similar components, unless context dictates otherwise. Furthermore, unless otherwise noted, the description of each successive drawing may reference features from one or more of the previous drawings to provide clearer context and a more substantive explanation of the current example embodiment. Still, the example embodiments described in the detailed description, drawings, and claims are not meant to be limiting. Other embodiments may be utilized, and other changes may be made, without departing from the spirit or scope of the subject matter presented herein. It will be readily understood that the aspects of the present disclosure, as generally described herein and illustrated in the drawings, may be arranged, substituted, combined, separated, and designed in a wide variety of different configurations, all of which are explicitly contemplated herein.

In accordance with some embodiments, an illusively backless garment includes a front portion that covers breasts of a wearer, and a back portion connected to distal edges of the front portion that surrounds at least a portion of a rear side of a torso of the wearer. The back portion includes a mesh that is nude color or substantially transparent.

Several embodiments of the present application provide a bra with an inconspicuous back portion. Such bra will effectively maintain seamless appearance, maintain uniform lift, provide back compression, and support not only for the wearer's breasts but also for the wearer's back. Further, the bra smooths the effect of undesirable bra bulge. The embodiments described herein enhances user's experience as an illusively backless garment, e.g. a bra or bralette, intended to be worn by a wearer for providing virtually invisible back surface, while maintaining seamless appearance, supporting breasts and back of the wearer, and providing back compression functions.

FIGS. 1A and 1B illustrate an exemplary bra 100 in accordance with at least some embodiments described herein. FIG. 1A illustrates a front view of an exemplary bra 100 and FIG. 1B illustrates a rear view of the exemplary bra 100. The bra 100 includes a front portion 102 that covers breasts of a wearer, and a back portion 104 connected to distal edges of the front portion 102, wherein the back portion 104 that surrounds at least a portion of a rear side of a torso of the wearer. The back portion 104 of the bra 100 includes a mesh 112 that is nude color or substantially transparent. The mesh 112 is illustrated as a part of the back portion 104. In one or more embodiments, an entirety of the back portion 104 is made of the mesh 112.

In some embodiments, the mesh 112 is a type of fabric characterized by its net-like open appearance. The spaces between yarns in each of the nets create the illusion of being substantially transparency or a nude or skin color effect. In some embodiments, the mesh 112 is lightweight which feels smooth out the skin of the wearer, while also giving the appearance that the wearer's back is nude. Hence, the back portion of the bra is almost invisible such that if the wearer has freckles, birthmarks or a tattoos on the back, such freckles, birthmarks or the tattoos are visible through the mesh 112. Since the back portion also provides for lightweight compression, such aspect eliminates bulges in the skin that a conventional bra would create. In one or more embodiments, the mesh 112 includes nude illusion stretch net with Spandex, Lycra or elastane, which is formed from four way stretch knitted fabric. The exemplary nude illusion stretch nets include at least one of tulle, spandex mesh, gauze, sheer net, bobbinet, illusion tulle, illusion mesh, cotton tulle, etc. In some embodiments, the mesh fabric is a lot finer than the regular stretch tulle and when held against the skin of the wearer, viewers can hardly differentiate the bare skin with the mesh fabric. Therefore, the mesh is hardly differentiated the edge of the net against the wearer's skin.

As illustrated in FIG. 1B, as the back portion 104 is made of the mesh 112 that is substantially transparent or lightweight nude color such that the front portion 102 of the bra 100 is visible through the back portion 104.

Since the back portion 104 of the bra 100 is made of the mesh 112, the back portion 104 allows the wearer to feel a tight fit, with support at the ribs, armhole, and the back, while providing virtually invisible back surface of the bra.

The back portion 104 of bra 100 is seamless. A seam may be a visible interface, joining point, or transition point between the edges of two portions of a material on an innermost or outermost surface of the bra. The portions may be overlapped and bonded together or stitched. In contrast, “seamless”, in one or more embodiments, includes transition points between different portions of material that would not be visible to a user of the bra, and that do not include significant edge overlapping or stitching.

The front portion 102 of the bra 100 includes a pair of cups 108 (i.e. a first cup and a second cup), a center front gore 110, and a channel 114 within which a structural member, for example, a bra wire, is disposed. The pair of cups 108 are molded cups, according to some embodiments. The center front gore 110 is associated with each of the pair of cups 108. The center of the center front gore 110 includes a front closure member 111, such as a hook & eye, Velcro, a clip, or a zipper. Therefore, the front closure member 111 is located between the pair of cups 108, which the wearer grabs from each side of the front closure member 111 (for example, a hook and eye each of which is attached to the center front gore 110 of respective pair of cups 108), and slides the hook over the top of, and through the bra's eye to fasten the bra in place. Alternatively, a closure member is located in the back instead of the front, for example, center of the back portion 104, and this closure member is referred as a back closure member. Otherwise, a closure member is located in side of the bra and under the arms, and is referred as a side closure member. The side closure member or back closure member is a hook & eye, Velcro, a clip, or a zipper, according to one or more embodiments. Further, a bra is pulled on over a wearer's head without closures or fasteners, in some embodiments. The channel 114 can define the cup boundary which is located on the lower edges of the cups. The bra wires support the breasts of the wearer. In some embodiments, the cups 108 do not include wire and the bra 100 can be non-underwire bras.

The combination of the pair of cups 108 and back portion 104 which is made of mesh allows the wearer to feel a tight fit, with supports at the rib, back, and breasts, while providing virtually invisible back surface of the bra.

In some embodiments, each of the cups 108 includes push-up pad with a contoured shape that traces the shape of the underwire extending to the edge of the cups 108, thereby providing lift and shape to the wearer's breast. Alternatively, the bra 100 may be a bralette without molded cups or wires that provides a reasonable amount of support for females who prefer such design.

The bra 100 further includes shoulder straps 106 (i.e. left and right shoulder straps) that extend from the front portion 102 of bra 100 toward the back portion 104 of bra 100. Shoulder straps 106 are formed integrally with or attached to upper edges of respective first and second cups 108 of the front portion 102. The shoulder straps 106 are connected between the respective first and second cups and the back portion 104, thereby also defining the armholes. The shoulder straps 106 attached to the back portion are configured to extend over the shoulders of the wearer and help to keep the bra 100 in place. In some embodiments, the shoulder straps 106 of the bra 100 include a mesh 112 that is nude color or substantially transparent. In some embodiments, the shoulder straps 106 are made from the same fabric forming the back portion 104 of the bra 100. In at least one embodiment, an entirety of shoulder straps 106 and back portion 104, except front portion 102 of the bra are made of mesh 112. In some embodiments, the back portion has a rounded back neckline.

FIGS. 2A and 2B illustrate an exemplary bra 200 in accordance with at least some embodiments described herein. In particular, FIGS. 2A and 2B illustrate an illusively backless bra with no strap (i.e. strapless) 200. FIG. 2A illustrates a front view of an exemplary bra 200 and FIG. 2B illustrates a rear view of the exemplary bra 200. The bra 200 includes a front portion 202 that covers breasts of a wearer, and a back portion 204 connected to distal edges of the front portion 202 that surround at least a portion of a rear side of a torso of the wearer. As described above regarding FIGS. 1A and 1B, the back portion 204 of the bra 200 includes a mesh that is nude color or substantially transparent.

As illustrated in FIG. 2B, since the back portion 204 is made of the mesh that is substantially transparent and lightweight nude color, the front portion 202 of the bra 200 is visible through the back portion 204.

The front portion 202 of the bra 200 includes a pair of cups 208 (i.e. a first cup and a second cup), a center front gore 210, and a channel 214 within which a structural member, for example, a bra wire, is disposed. In some embodiments, the pair of cups 208 are molded cups. The center front gore 210 is associated with each of the pair of cups 208. The center of the center front gore 210 includes a front closure member 211, such as a hook & eye, Velcro, a clip, or a zipper. Therefore, the front closure member 211 is located between the pair of cups 208 such that the wearer grabs each side of the front closure member 211 (for example, a hook and eye each of which are attached to the center front gore 210 of respective pair of cups 208), and slides the hook over the top of, and through the bra's clasp to fasten the bra in place. Alternatively, as described above regarding FIGS. 1A and 1B, a closure member is either a side closure member or a back closure member, according to one or more embodiments. Further, a bra is pulled on over a wearer's head without closures or fasteners, in some embodiments. The channel 214 can define the cup boundary, which is located on the lower edges of the cups. The bra wires support breasts of the wearer. In some embodiments, the cups 208 lack the wire, thereby being a non-underwire bras.

The combination of the pair of cups 208 and back portion 204 that is made of mesh allows the wearer to feel a tight fit, adequate compression, with support at the ribs, armholes, back, and breasts, while providing a back surface of the bra that is virtually invisible.

In some embodiments, each of the cups 208 includes push-up pad with a contoured shape that traces the shape of the underwire extending to the edge of the cups 208, thereby providing lift and shape to a wearer's breast. Alternatively, the bra 200 may be a bralette without molded cups or wires that provides a reasonable amount of support for females who prefer such design.

FIGS. 3A and 3B illustrate an illusively backless bra 300 having supportive cups with one shoulder (i.e. right shoulder strap), thereby making it an asymmetrical one shoulder bra. FIG. 3A illustrates a front view of an exemplary bra 300 and FIG. 3B illustrates a rear view of the exemplary bra 300. The bra 300 includes a front portion 302 that covers the breasts of a wearer, and a back portion 304 connected to a distal edge of the front portion 302, wherein the back portion 304 surrounds at least a portion of a rear side of a torso of the wearer. As described above regarding FIGS. 1A and 1B, the back portion 304 of the bra 300 includes a mesh that is nude color or substantially transparent.

As illustrated in FIG. 3B, since the back portion 304 is made of the mesh that is substantially transparent and lightweight nude color, the front portion 302 of the bra 300 is visible through the back portion 304.

The front portion 302 of the bra 300 includes a pair of cups 308 (i.e. a first cup and a second cup), a center front gore 310, and a channel 314 within which a structural member, for example, a bra wire, is disposed. In some embodiments, the pair of cups 308 are molded cups. The center front gore 310 is associated with each of the pair of cups 308. The center of the center front gore 310 includes a front closure member 311, such as a hook & eye, Velcro, a clip, or a zipper. Therefore, the front closure member 311 is located between the pair of cups 308 such that the wearer grabs each side of the front closure member 311 (for example, a hook and eye each of which are attached to the center front gore 310 of respective pair of cups 308), and slides the hook over the top of, and through the bra's clasp to fasten the bra in place. Alternatively, as describe above regarding FIGS. 1A and 1B, a closure member is either a side closure member or a back closure member, according to one or more embodiments.
