Abstract
A gas burner includes a cylindrical hollow body, a top casing integrally mounted on top of the body and having multiple through holes defined in two opposed side faces of the top casing to communicate with an interior of the body and a supporting baffle formed inside the top casing to engage with a bottom face and a top face of the top casing so as to increase rigidity of the top casing so that distortion of the top casing is avoided.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to a gas burner, and more particularly to a gas burner having multiple through holes defined in opposed sides of a body of the burner, a supporting baffle provided inside the body to engage with both a bottom face of the cover and a top face of the base of the gas burner.

2. Description of Related Art

An existing gas burner shown in FIG. 4 has a cylindrical hollow body (5) in communication with a chamber (6) defined in a covering (7) on top of the body (5) and having holes (71) defined through a side face of two opposed side faces of the covering (7) to communicate with the chamber (6) as well as an interior of the body (5). Thus gas flow is able to exit from the holes (72) when provided to the body (5).

When this conventional gas burner is in application, temperature around the holes (71) is higher than any other portion of the gas burner because of the flame from the holes (72) due to the ignited gas. The opposed sides (72) of the covering (7) will eventually distort (as shown in the dashed lines) as a result of heat. Distortion of the opposed sides (72) of the covering (7) causes the holes (72) to deform, which results in insufficient burning effect. Then carbon monoxide is generated and causes a serious hazard to the user and others around the gas burner.

To overcome the shortcomings, the present invention tends to provide an improved gas burner to mitigate the aforementioned problems.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The primary objective of the present invention is to provide an improved gas burner to obviate the distortion of the extensions and to maintain efficient burning effect even after a long time of using the gas burner.

In one aspect of the present invention, the gas burner of the present invention has a supporting baffle formed inside the gas burner to enhance rigidity of the gas burner.

In yet another aspect of the present invention, multiple supporting posts are formed along the supporting baffle so as to increase the stiffness of the supporting baffle.

Other objects, advantages and novel features of the invention will become more apparent from the following detailed description when taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the gas burner of the present invention with a portion in cross section to show the internal structure thereof;

FIG. 2 is a schematic cross sectional side plan view of the gas burner in FIG. 1;

FIG. 3 is a schematic cross sectional top plan view of the gas burner in FIG. 1; and

FIG. 4 is a side plan view of a conventional gas burner.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference to FIGS. 1, 2 and 3, it is noted that the gas burner in accordance with the present invention includes a cylindrical hollow body (1) and a top casing (2) integrally mounted on top of the body (1) and having multiple through holes (21) defined in two opposed side faces of the top casing (2) to communicate with an interior of the body (1). A supporting baffle (3) is formed inside the top casing (2) to engage with a bottom face and a top face thereof so as to increase the rigidity and stiffness of the top casing (2). Furthermore, multiple supporting posts (31) are formed along the supporting baffle (3) to increase the supporting effect of the supporting baffle (3). Furthermore, because the supporting baffle is made of a material having a melting point and rigidity higher than those of the material for the hollow body (1) and the top casing (2), the gas burner of the present invention is not easily distorted.

It is noted from the above description that with the provision of the supporting baffle (3) and the supporting posts (31), even after a long period of time using the gas burner and when the temperature around the through holes (21) is high, the gas burner of the present invention does not distort. Thus the efficient burning effect is sustained.

It is to be understood, however, that even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and function of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only, and changes may be made in detail, especially in matters of shape, size, and arrangement of parts within the principles of the invention to the full extent indicated by the broad general meaning of the terms in which the appended claims are expressed.

Claims
  • 1. A gas burner comprising: a cylindrical hollow body; a top casing integrally mounted on top of the body and having multiple through holes defined in two opposed side faces of the top casing to communicate with an interior of the body; and a supporting baffle formed inside the top casing to engage with a bottom face and a top face of the top casing so as to increase rigidity of the top casing so that distortion of the top casing is avoided.
  • 2. The gas burner as claimed in claim 1 further comprising multiple supporting posts formed along the supporting baffle to increase stiffness of the supporting baffle.
  • 3. The gas burner as claimed in claim 2, where the supporting baffle is made of a material having a rigidity and melting point higher than those of brass.
