a. Field of Invention
The present invention relates generally to multilayered protective carrier packs for at least one tactical device (in some cases, especially a gas mask) and a plurality of flexible disposable handcuffs. Historically, military, police, special operations personnel and others carry separate pouches or packs with such items as gas masks, grenades, incendiary devices, diversion devices (known as “flash-bangs”), weapons, radio and first aid kits. This practice creates problems, such as available space, accessibility, and resulting clumsiness. The present invention takes note of the newly developed compact disposable plastic handcuffs and there compactness, and couples that with a synergistic arrangement that allows personnel to carry a single pouch in which two or more items are combined and one item further acts as a protective layer for the other item(s). More specifically, in the present invention packs, a row of cuffs inserted around the inside periphery or part of the periphery of the pack provides quick and ready access to the cuffs, yet the cuffs act as a springy cushion layer to protect one or more tactical devices within the pack.

The present invention is a multilayered protective carrier pack for a gas mask and a plurality of flexible disposable handcuffs. It includes a carrier having a bottom, sidewalls, a back, an open top and a cover for the open top the sidewalls being connected to the back and to the bottom to form a containment area adapted to hold and support a gas mask. The sidewalls have a first protective layer being an outer layer, and have a second protective layer being an inner layer, the inner layer being a plurality of elongated pouches with an open top, each of the plurality of elongated pouches adapted to receive at least one folded flexible disposable handcuff. When a gas mask is placed in the containment area, and a plurality of flexible disposable handcuffs are placed in the plurality of elongated pouches, the sidewalls provide protection to the gas mask by way of the sidewall outer layer, the sidewall inner layer and a protective flexible interlayer established by the plurality of flexible disposable handcuffs located in the plurality of elongated pouches.
In some embodiments of the present invention multilayered protective carrier pack for a gas mask and a plurality of flexible disposable handcuffs, the carrier is a flexible carrier of material selected from the group consisting of synthetic woven material, natural woven material, synthetic film material and combinations thereof.
In some embodiments of the present invention multilayered protective carrier pack for a gas mask and a plurality of flexible disposable handcuffs, the carrier is at least partially a rigid material selected from the group consisting of plastic material, metal material, laminated material and combinations thereof.
In some embodiments of the present invention multilayered protective carrier pack for a gas mask and a plurality of flexible disposable handcuffs, the cover is a flap.
