Claims
- 1. A method for designing a multicomponent gaseous insulator comprising determining the attachment cross section of candidate gases for electrons having energies in the range of 0-1.3 eV; selecting as a first component a gas having an electron attachment cross section greater than 10.sup.-16 cm.sup.2 ; selecting as a second comonent a gas from the group of N.sub.2, H.sub.2, CO and CO.sub.2 ; and mixing said first and second components.
