Claims
- 1. An electrically operated faucet assembly capable of being rigidly affixed to a surface, comprising;
- a faucet spout extending above the surface having an outlet for discharge of fluid at one end and a base at the other end for mounting on the surface;
- an electrically responsive device mounted on the spout between outlet and base;
- control wiring extending from the electronically responsive device through an opening in the surface to an area below the surfaces;
- a fluid conduit through the spout connecting the outlet with a threaded fluid supply connection attached to the base of the spout;
- an upper sealing means having elongated ribs on the bottom thereof and a plurality of supports on the top thereof, the upper sealing means being located between the base of the spout and the surface, and the plurality of supports being aligned underneath the spout base to provide additional support to the faucet; and
- a lower sealing means having a cutout therein to hold the control wiring in place as it passes through the opening in the surface, and having a plurality of concentric ridges on the portion thereof in engagement with the bottom of the surface.
- 2. The electrically operated faucet of claim 1, wherein the cutout in the lower sealing means provides a gap between the fluid conduit and the opening in the surface to protect the control wiring from damage without affecting the rigid mounting of the faucet.
- 3. The electrically operated faucet of claim 1, wherein the lower sealing means is securely engaged with the underside of the surface by a washer and threaded nut arranged on the threaded fluid supply.
- 4. The electrically operated faucet of claim 1, wherein the upper sealing means contains upstanding ribs on the upper surface thereof arranged to prevent movement of the spout base relative to the surface.
- 5. The electrically operated faucet of claim 1, wherein the upper sealing means has a cutout therein to hold the control wiring, the upper sealing means cutout being aligned with the cutout in the lower sealing means.
- 6. The electrically operated faucet assembly of claim 1, wherein the electrically responsive device on the faucet is a push-button actuator operable by a faucet user.
- 7. The electrically operated faucet assembly of claim 1, wherein the electrically responsive device on the faucet is a sensor which senses the presence or absence of a faucet user.
