Claims
- 1. An angiosperm plant comprising at least one cell transformed with a vector comprising the nucleic acid sequence according to SEQ ID NO: 1 wherein the codon for the Asn residue at position 134 has been mutated to a codon for Leu and said sequence is operably link to a promoter.
- 2. An angiosperm plant comprising at least one cell that expresses a dihydroflavanol-4-reductase enzyme according to SEQ ID NO: 2 wherein said enzyme has a point mutation at the residue 134 that changes to Asn to Leu.
- 3. An angiosperm plant according to claim 1 wherein said dihydroflavanol-4-reductase enzyme selectively catalyzes the reduction of dihydrokaempferol to leucopelargonidin in the presence of dihydroquercetin and dihydromyricetin.
- 4. An angiosperm plant as recited in claim 1 wherein said promoter is selected from a group consisting of a constitutive promoter, a cauliflower mosaic virus promoter, a tissue specific promoter and an inducible promoter.
- 5. An angiosperm plant as recited in claim 4 wherein said promoter comprises a cauliflower mosaic virus promoter.
