Claims
- 1. A process for the production of a glass-ceramic article decorated with ceramic color, comprising:
- decorating a glass article, which can be ceramized, with a ceramic color, and
- baking-in said ceramic color during ceramization to form a glass-ceramic article decorated with ceramic color,
- wherein, prior to decorating, a layer of SiO.sub.2 or of silica gel thermally convertible into SiO.sub.2 is applied to said glass article.
- 2. A process according to claim 1, wherein said SiO.sub.2 or silica gel layer is applied the sol-gel process.
- 3. A process according to claim 2, wherein said SiO.sub.2 or silica gel layer is applied by dipping said article into a solution of one or more silicic acid esters and subsequently subjecting the layer to hydrolysis and drying.
- 4. A process according to claim 2, wherein said SiO.sub.2 or silica gel layer is applied by spraying said article with a solution of one or more silicic acid esters and subsequently subjecting the layer to hydrolysis and drying.
- 5. A process according to claim 3, wherein drying is performed at temperatures of 50.degree.-500.degree. C.
- 6. A process according to claim 4, wherein drying is performed at temperatures of 50.degree.-500.degree. C.
- 7. A process according to claim 3, wherein up to 66.5 wt. %, calculated as oxide relative to the sum of metal oxide plus SiO.sub.2, of hydrolyzable alkoxides of titanium, zirconium, tin, magnesium and/or aluminum are contained in said solution.
- 8. A process according to claim 4, wherein up to 66.5 wt. %, calculated as oxide relative to the sum of metal oxide plus SiO.sub.2, of hydrolyzable alkoxides of titanium, zirconium, tin, magnesium and/or aluminum are contained in said solution.
- 9. A process according to claim 1 wherein said SiO.sub.2 layer is 20-200 nm.
- 10. A process according to claim 1, wherein said SiO.sub.2 layer is 60-80 nm.
- 11. A process according to claim 1, wherein said SiO.sub.2 layer contains up to 15 weight % of oxides which affect refractive index.
- 12. A process according to claim 1, wherein said SiO.sub.2 layer contains up to 15 weight % of oxides which affect refractive index.
- 13. A process according to claim 1, wherein said SiO.sub.2 layer contains 7-15 weight % TiO.sub.2.
