Claims
- 1. A delivery system for delivering gobs of glass from a plurality of feeder orifices to a plurality of sets of a plurality of blank molds, said sets being rotated about a central axis with each said blank mold of each set being positioned a different radial distance from said central axis, said delivery system including a plurality of individual gob guiding units, each one feeding a gob from one orifice to one of the blank molds in a set of blank molds, and means mounting said gob guiding units so that the upper ends thereof are substantially under the orifice and the other ends are positioned over the blank molds as each set of blank molds are rotated underneath and the other end of each unit is moved at a different relative tangential velocity to match the different relative tangential velocity of its associated blank mold.
- 2. For use with a glassware forming machine having a plurality of individual sections with each section having a plurality of blank mold cavities, a delivery system for feeding gobs of glass from a feeder having orifices therein to the blank molds, said delivery ststem including a set of scoops, said set having a plurality of scoops equal in number to the number of blank molds for directing gobs of glass from the feeder toward the blank molds of one section at a given time, said scoops of said set each being moveable between an operative position under the orifice for feeding gobs to said blank molds and an inoperative position wherein said scoops are positioned out of feeding relationship with respect to its associated orifice, means for moving each said scoop between its feeding and inoperative positions, said means enabling at least one of said scoops of said set to be positioned in its inoperative position while at least one of said scoops of said set is positioned in its feeding position.
- 3. The delivery system of claim 2 wherein said means also enables all of said scoops to be positioned in their inoperative position.
- 4. The delivery system of claim 2 wherein the delivery system includes a set of troughs equal in number to the number of said blank molds each of said scoops being in alignment with an associated trough in its feeding position, the individual sections of said glassware forming machine are mounted for rotation about a central machine axis whereby said blank mold of each section are successively moved into feeding position in alignment with said delivery system.
- 5. In the delivery system of claim 2, said means including an individual piston and cylinder mechanism associated with each scoop and operable separately from the others to move its scoop between its inoperative position and its operative position.
