The disclosure and prior art relates to tag devices and more particularly pertains to a new tag device for displaying selected indicia on a golf tee.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a golf tee that may penetrate ground having the golf tee extending upwardly from the ground. The golf tee has a top end and a bottom end. A tag slidably receives the golf tee. Moreover, the tag is positioned between the top end and the ground when the bottom end of the golf tee penetrates the ground. Indicia are printed on the tag to enhance an ornamental appearance of the golf tee.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated.
There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

The tag 20 has a first surface 24, a second surface 26 and a peripheral surface 28 extending therebetween. The peripheral surface 28 has a top side 30 and a bottom side 32 and each of the first 24 and second 26 surfaces has the indicia 22 thereon. The indicia 22 may comprise initials, an image, a logo and any other selected indicia 22. Additionally, the indicia 22 may be printed on the tag 20, carved into the tag 20 and presented on the tag 20 in any conventional means. The tag 20 may be comprised of an impact resistant material such as plastic or the like to resist is deformed when the tag 20 is struck by a golf club.
The peripheral surface 28 has an aperture 34 extending through the top side 30 and the bottom side 32. The aperture 34 insertably receives the bottom end 18 of the golf tee 12 and the aperture 34 has a bounding surface 36. The tag 20 may have a length of approximately 9.0 mm, a height of approximately 3.0 mm and a width of approximately 2 mm. A nodule 38 extends outwardly from the bounding surface 36. The nodule 38 frictionally engages the golf tee 12 when the golf tee 12 is inserted into the aperture 34. In this way the nodule 38 facilitates the tag 20 to frictionally engage a variety of diameters of the golf tees 12.
In use, the golf tee 12 is extended through the aperture 34 in the tag 20 and the bottom end 18 of the golf tee 12 is inserted into the ground 14. Thus, the tag 20 is positioned between the ground 14 and the top end 16 of the golf tee 12. The golf ball is positioned on the top end 16 of the golf ball and the golf ball is driven from the tee. Moreover, the tag 20 be is positioned on a new golf tee 12 when the golf tee 12 breaks during driving. In this way the tag 20 facilitates the indicia 22 on the tag 20 to be displayed on golf tees 12 of a variety of sizes and lengths.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, system and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure.
