Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present disclosure. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art nor material to the presently described or claimed inventions, nor that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates generally to the field of golf accessories and more specifically relates to a golf training aid.

2. Description of Related Art

Many people enjoy playing golf. Golf is a club and ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. A golf club is used to hit a golf ball. Each club is composed of a shaft with a grip and a club head. Many golfers desire a way to improve their chip shot, as well as their putting game. With improved rhythm and tempo, players can achieve consistency. This will ultimately reduce their strokes on the green and strengthen their game overall. A training aid that affords players the ability to improve their shots is needed. Therefore, a suitable solution is desired.

U.S. Pat. No. 8,968,113 to John R Spelman, et al. relates to a golf putting trainer device. The described golf putting trainer device includes a device for assisting and training golfers with their putts. The device includes an elongated section configured to be placed on the ground where the golfer intends to make his back-swing for a selected put. A vertical section or “backstop” is configured to be placed at selected locations along the elongated section to corresponding to different putt lengths, and therefore different back-swing lengths. A distance scale may be printed on the elongated section. Light projection devices may be included to project a predicted ball path. A back-swing speed indicator system may also be included.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known golf art, the present disclosure provides a novel golf training aid apparatus. The general purpose of the present disclosure, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a golf training aid that assists users in developing distance control and strengthening in their chipping and putting game.

An apparatus for use as a golf training aid is disclosed herein. The apparatus for use as a golf training aid includes a piece of fabric; the piece of fabric may have an elongate body with a first end and a second end. A plurality of grommets may be included. A first of the plurality of grommets may be located on the first end of the elongate body and a seventh of the plurality of grommets may be located on the second end of the elongate body. The elongate body may define a predetermined length. Furthermore, the elongate body may include a plurality of different colored segments which may be configured to represent a different distance interval. Each of the plurality of different colored segments may be separated by a second, a third, a fourth, a fifth, and a sixth of said plurality of grommets. In a preferred embodiment, the elongate body is 30 feet in length and has each of the plurality of different colored segments measuring 5 feet long. In an alternative embodiment, the elongate body is 90 feet in length and has each of the plurality of different colored segments measuring 15 feet in length. The present disclosure may be advantageous in providing the apparatus that may be configured to be used as a golf training aid and improve golfing skills by utilizing the above stated features, such as the plurality of different colored segments, during golf play.

For purposes of summarizing the invention, certain aspects, advantages, and novel features of the invention have been described herein. It is to be understood that not necessarily all such advantages may be achieved in accordance with any one particular embodiment of the invention. Thus, the invention may be embodied or carried out in a manner that achieves or optimizes one advantage or group of advantages as taught herein without necessarily achieving other advantages as may be taught or suggested herein. The features of the invention which are believed to be novel are particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification. These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings and detailed description.
