Claims
- 1. Apparatus comprising spaced parallel bars defining parallel channel tracks with facing mouths, a shade extending laterally through said mouths and including bulbous peripheries accommodated and retained in said tracks, said bars including ends at which said shade selectively enters and exits said tracks, roller means operatively associated with said ends to take up and play out said shade, said roller means being displaced from said bars, and guide means to guide a change in direction of said shade as the shade enters or exits the tracks to adapt the shade to the relative positions of said roller means and the ends of the bars, said guide means being provided with open guide tracks for receiving said bulbous peripheries, said guide tracks being of arcuate configuration to change direction of the bulbous peripheries and thereby of said shade, said guide tracks having proximal lateral guide walls which slope apart in the direction of the ends of said bars whereby to effect a stretching of the shade.
- 2. Apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said guide tracks have distal lateral guide walls which slope together in the direction of the ends of said bars whereby the guide tracks are generally of funnel shape.
- 3. Apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said guide tracks are of arcuate cross-section.
- 4. Apparatus as claimed in claim 3, wherein said cross-section has a radius which increases in a direction away from the ends of said bars.
- 5. Apparatus as claimed in claim 1, wherein said guide means include tubular extensions in continuation of said guide tracks, said tubular extensions being accommodated in said channel tracks at the ends of the bars and coupling said guide means to said bars.
- 6. Apparatus as claimed in claim 5, wherein said bars each include a wall extending between the channel tracks, said guide means each including a further extension which with the corresponding tubular extension straddles said wall.
- 7. Apparatus as claimed in claim 6, wherein said wall is provided with a threaded opening, said further extension being provided with an opening aligned with the threaded opening, said apparatus further including a locking member extending through the openings and engaging in said threaded opening.
- 8. Apparatus as claimed in claim 5, wherein the ends of the bars are sloped relative to the channel tracks and the guide means include flanges sloped relative to the tubular extensions and in correspondence with the sloped ends.
