Claims
- 1. A gun barrel cleaning device for cleaning an inside surface of a gun barrel comprising:
- a tubular sheath having a first end, a second end and a wall;
- a brush enclosed within the tubular sheath, the brush including bristles extending through the wall of the tubular sheath; and
- a cleaning section enclosed within the tubular sheath, for cleaning the inside surface of the gun barrel.
- 2. The gun barrel cleaning device of claim 1 wherein the cleaning section comprises a resilient insert enclosed within the tubular sheath.
- 3. The gun barrel cleaning device of claim 1 wherein the cleaning section comprises a foam insert enclosed within the tubular sheath.
- 4. The gun barrel cleaning device of claim 3 wherein the foam insert further comprises a non-absorbent closed-cell foam.
- 5. The gun barrel cleaning device of claim 3 wherein the foam insert further comprises an absorbent foam.
- 6. The gun barrel cleaning device of claim 1 wherein the cleaning section comprises a section of tubular sheath folded back and fixed in a folded position.
- 7. The gun barrel cleaning device of claim 1 wherein the cleaning section comprises a section of tubular sheath inserted within the tubular sheath and fixed in an inserted position.
- 8. A method for cleaning the inside of a gun barrel in one pass with a gun barrel cleaning device having a first end and a second end which comprises the steps of:
- dropping the first end of the gun barrel cleaning device into a first end of the gun barrel;
- pulling the gun barrel cleaning device through the inside of the gun barrel by the first end of the gun barrel cleaning device;
- scrubbing the inside surface of the gun barrel with a brush connected to and aligned with the length of the gun barrel cleaning device; and
- cleaning the inside surface of the gun barrel with a cleaning section connected to and aligned with the length of the gun barrel cleaning device.
