The device of this disclosure belongs to the field of handgun barrel attaching devices. More specifically it is a tapered handgun barrel to make a more secure interface between the handgun barrel and an attached accessory.
In the prior art many handgun barrels are made with a threaded end to allow for attachment of various accessories such as thread protectors, compensators, or a booster for a suppressor.
As these accessories require more precise and secure interfaces with the handgun barrel this invention of adding a taper at the end of the barrel that matches an opposing taper in the accessory enables an advance in precision of the alignment and a more secure interface.
The invention of this disclosure, consisting of opposing tapers between the handgun barrel and the accessory, enables more precision in the alignment and a more secure interface of an accessory on a handgun barrel.
The device of this disclosure belongs to the field of weaponry. More specifically in the invention of this disclosure the adding of a taper at the end of the handgun barrel before a threaded end that matches an opposing taper in the accessory enables more precision in the alignment and a more secure interface.
For a fuller understanding of the nature and objects of the invention, reference should be made to the following detailed description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which:
As discussed above, through the use of a taper at the end of a handgun barrel, threaded on accessories can be mounted with more precision and a more secure interface. Attachments might include a thread protector, compensator, or a booster for a suppressor. The taper will allow accessory attachments to mount with near perfect concentricity and also create a locking interface.
More specifically as shown in
Since certain changes may be made in the above-described device that uses a taper on a handgun barrel without departing from the scope of the invention herein involved, it is intended that all matter contained in the description thereof shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.
