Claims
- 1. A multi-part aqueous gypsum dental casting composition comprising: 100 parts by weight of gypsum; 20 to 40 parts by weight of water; there is in the water, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of aluminum ammonium sulfate, 0.0 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of the second compound, and 0.2 to 18 parts by weight of at least one acid selected from boric acid, trisodium citric acid and phosphoric acid; and said second compound is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide.
- 2. A multi-part aqueous gypsum dental casting composition comprising: 100 parts by weight of gypsum; 20 to 40 parts by weight of water; there is in the water, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of aluminum ammonium sulfate, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of boric acid, and 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of phosphoric acid or tri-sodium citric acid.
- 3. A dosage size gypsum dental casting container comprising:a closed shaped container containing 50 to 600 grams of a gypsum, said container having means to input water therein and being less than ¾ full with sufficient free volume to accommodate a volume of water to mix with the gypsum and allow the contents of the container to be hand shaken to permit complete mixing of said gypsum and water, and said container containing per 100 parts by weight of gypsum, 0.2 to 24 parts by weight of two or more of an acid selected from the group consisting of oxalic acid, boric acid, phosphoric acid, citric acid, sodium citric acid, tri-sodium citric acid, tartaric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, malic acid, ascorbic acid, and aspartic acid; and 0.0 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a second compound selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide; the alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium; and the lower alkyl is dimethyl.
- 4. The dental casting container of claim 3 wherein the gypsum contains dental gypsum dental enhancers selected from the group consisting of dental gypsum hardening agents, dental gypsum water reducing agents, dental gypsum accelerating agents, dental gypsum retarding agents, and mixtures thereof to provide an appropriate dental casting when mixed with a water composition in said closed container.
- 5. The container of claim 4 wherein the dental gypsum hardening agent is selected from the group consisting of water soluble ethylene vinyl acetates, vinyl acetates, polyvinylacetate, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl alcohols and cellulose ethers;the dental gypsum retarding agent is selected from the group consisting of water soluble lime, gum arabic, borates, acetates and sodates; the dental gypsum water reducing agent is selected from the group consisting of lignosulfonates, naphthalene sulfonates, carboxylic acids, polycarboxylic acids, amino sulfonic acids, amines, sulfonated amino acids, melamines, and a liquid triazide; and the dental gypsum accelerating agent is selected from the group consisting of metal chlorides such as sodium, calcium and aluminum chloride.
- 6. A dosage size gypsum dental casting container comprising:a closed shaped container containing 50 to 600 grams of a gypsum, said container having means to input water therein and being less than ¾ full with sufficient free volume to accommodate a volume of water to mix with the gypsum and allow the contents of the container to be hand shaken to permit complete mixing of said gypsum and water, and said container containing per 100 parts by weight of gypsum, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a first compound selected from the group consisting of ammonium chloride, potassium chloride, ammonium fluorosilicate, magnesium fluorosilicate, magnesium sulfate, magnesium aluminum sulfate, aluminum sulfate, and aluminum ammonium sulfate; 0.0 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a second compound; said second compound is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide; the alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium; and the lower alkyl is dimethyl; and 0.2 to 18 parts by weight of two or more of an acid selected from the group consisting of oxalic acid, boric acid, phosphoric acid, citric acid, sodium citric acid, tri-sodium citric acid, tartaric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, malic acid, ascorbic acid, and aspartic acid.
- 7. The dental casting container of claim 6 wherein the two acids are boric acid and a phosphoric acid or trisodium citric acid.
- 8. A dosage size gypsum dental casting container comprising:a closed shaped container containing 50 to 600 grams of a gypsum, said container having means to input water therein and being less than ¾ full with sufficient free volume to accommodate a volume of water to mix with the gypsum and allow the contents of the container to be hand shaken to permit complete mixing of said gypsum and water, and said container containing per 100 parts by weight of gypsum, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of aluminum ammonium sulfate; and up to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a second compound; said second compound is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide; the alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium; and the lower alkyl is dimethyl and 0.2 to 18 parts by weight of at least one acid selected from boric acid, trisodium citric acid and phosphoric acid.
- 9. A dosage size gypsum dental casting container comprising:a closed shaped container containing 50 to 600 grams of a gypsum, said container having means to input water therein and being less than ¾ full with sufficient free volume to accommodate a volume of water to mix with the gypsum and allow the contents of the container to be hand shaken to permit complete mixing of said gypsum and water, and said container containing per 100 parts by weight of gypsum, 0.0 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a second compound; said second compound is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide; the alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium, and the lower alkyl is dimethyl, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of aluminum ammonium sulfate, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of boric acid, and 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of phosphoric acid or tri-sodium citric acid.
- 10. A closed dental casting water container containing 20 to 40 parts by weight of water for every 100 parts by weight of gypsum to be reacted with said water, comprising there is dissolved in the water, 0.0 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a second compound, said second compound is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide; the alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium; and the lower alkyl is dimethyl; 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of aluminum ammonium sulfate, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of boric acid, and 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of phosphoric acid or tri-sodium citric acid.
- 11. A closed dental casting water container containing 20 to 40 parts by weight of water for every 100 parts by weight of gypsum to be reacted with said water, comprising there is dissolved in said water, 0.2 to 24 parts by weight of two or more of the acids an acid selected from the group consisting of oxalic acid, boric acid, phosphoric acid, citric acid, sodium citric acid, tri-sodium citric acid, tartaric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, malic acid, ascorbic acid, and aspartic acid; and 0.0 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a second compound selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide; the alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium; and the lower alkyl is dimethyl.
- 12. A closed dental casting water container containing 20 to 40 parts by weight of water for every 100 parts by weight of gypsum to be reacted with said water, comprising there is dissolved in said water, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a first compound selected from the group consisting of ammonium chloride, potassium chloride, ammonium fluorosilicate, magnesium fluorosilicate, magnesium sulfate, magnesium aluminum sulfate, aluminum sulfate, and aluminum ammonium sulfate; and 0.0 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a second compound; said second compound is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide; the alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium; and the lower alkyl is dimethyl and 0.2 to 24 parts by weight of two or more of said acids an acid selected from the group consisting of oxalic acid, boric acid, phosphoric acid, citric acid, sodium citric acid, tri-sodium citric acid, tartaric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, malic acid, ascorbic acid, and aspartic acid.
- 13. The dental casting water container of claim 12 wherein the two acids are boric acid and a phosphoric acid or trisodium citric acid.
- 14. The dental casting water container of claim 13 wherein there is in the water, aluminum ammonium sulfate, one or more of the second compound, and at least one acid selected from boric acid, trisodium citric acid and phosphoric acid.
- 15. The dental casting water container of claim 13 wherein in the water there are dental gypsum dental enhancers selected from the group consisting of dental gypsum hardening agents, dental gypsum water reducing agents, dental gypsum accelerating agents, dental gypsum retarding agents, and mixtures thereof to provide an appropriate dental casting when mixed with a gypsum composition in a closed gypsum container.
- 16. The dental casting water container of claim 15 wherein the dental gypsum hardening agent is selected from the group consisting of water soluble ethylene vinyl acetates, vinyl acetates, polyvinylacetate, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl alcohols and cellulose ethers;the dental gypsum retarding agent is selected from the group consisting of water soluble lime, gum arabic, borates, acetates and sodates; the dental gypsum water reducing agent is selected from the group consisting of lignosulfonates, naphthalene sulfonates, carboxylic acids, polycarboxylic acids, amino sulfonic acids, amines, sulfonated amino acids, melamines, and Melment; and the dental gypsum accelerating agent is selected from the group consisting of metal chlorides such as sodium, calcium and aluminum chloride.
- 17. The dental casting water container of claim 13 wherein in the water there are gypsum, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of aluminum ammonium sulfate, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of boric acid, and 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of phosphoric acid or tri-sodium citric acid.
- 18. A dosage size gypsum dental casting container having separate first and second compartments sealed from each other; comprisingsaid first compartment containing 50 to 600 grams of a gypsum and being less than ¾ full with sufficient free volume to accommodate a volume of water to mix with the gypsum and allow the contents of the container to be hand shaken to permit complete mixing of said gypsum and water; said second compartment containing 20 to 40 parts by weight of water per 100 parts by weight gypsum in said first compartment; wherein there is in either or both the gypsum and water 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a first compound selected from the group consisting of ammonium chloride, potassium chloride, ammonium fluorosilicate, magnesium fluorosilicate, magnesium sulfate, magnesium aluminum sulfate, aluminum sulfate, and aluminum ammonium sulfate; and 0.0 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a second compound; said second compound is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide; the alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium; and the lower alkyl is dimethyl.
- 19. The dental casting container of claim 18 wherein there is in either or both the gypsum and water, 0.2 to 18 parts by weight of one or more of an acid selected from the group consisting of oxalic acid, boric acid, phosphoric acid, citric acid, sodium citric acid, tri-sodium citric acid, tartaric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, malic acid, ascorbic acid, and aspartic acid.
- 20. The dental casting container of claim 18 wherein the first compound is aluminum ammonium sulfate, one or more of the second compound, and at least one acid selected from boric acid, trisodium citric acid and phosphoric acid.
- 21. The dental casting container of claim 18 wherein there is in the water 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of aluminum ammonium sulfate, 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of boric acid, and 0.2 to 12 parts by weight of phosphoric acid or tri-sodium citric acid.
- 22. The dental casting container of claim 18 wherein there is in either or both the gypsum and water, a gypsum casting enhancer that allows the gypsum to be hand shaken, poured and set for casting wherein the enhancer is selected from a gypsum retarder, a gypsum accelerator, a gypsum hardener, and a gypsum water reducer.
- 23. The dental casting container of claim 22 whereinthe dental gypsum hardening agent is selected from the group consisting of water soluble polyvinylacetate, ethylene vinyl acetates, vinyl acetates, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl alcohols and cellulose ethers; the dental gypsum retarding agent is selected from the group consisting of water soluble lime, gum arabic, borates, acetates and sodates; the dental gypsum water reducing agent is selected from the group consisting of lignosulfonates, naphthalene sulfonates, carboxylic acids, polycarboxylic acids, amino sulfonic acids, amines, sulfonated amino acids, melamines, and a liquid triazide; and the dental gypsum accelerating agent is selected from the group consisting of metal chlorides such as sodium, calcium and aluminum chloride.
- 24. A dosage size gypsum dental casting container having separate first and second compartments sealed from each other; comprisingsaid first compartment containing 50 to 600 grams of a gypsum and being less than ¾ full with sufficient free volume to accommodate a volume of water to mix with the gypsum and allow the contents of the container to be hand shaken to permit complete mixing of said gypsum and water; said second compartment containing 20 to 40 parts by weight of water per 100 parts by weight gypsum in said first compartment; wherein there is in either or both the gypsum and water 0.2 to 36 parts by weight of one or more of a first compound and an acid; and 0.0 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a second compound; said first compound is selected from the group consisting of ammonium chloride, potassium chloride, ammonium fluorosilicate, magnesium fluorosilicate, magnesium sulfate, magnesium aluminum sulfate, aluminum sulfate, and aluminum ammonium sulfate; said acid is selected from the group consisting of oxalic acid, boric acid, phosphoric acid, citric acid, sodium citric acid, tri-sodium citric acid, tartaric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, malic acid, ascorbic acid, and aspartic acid; said second compound is selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide; the alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium; and the lower alkyl is dimethyl.
- 25. A dosage size gypsum dental casting container having separate first and second compartments sealed from each other; comprisingsaid first compartment containing 50 to 600 grams of a gypsum and being less than ¾ full with sufficient free volume to accommodate a volume of water to mix with the gypsum and allow the contents of the container to be hand shaken to permit complete mixing of said gypsum and water; said second compartment containing 20 to 40 parts by weight of water per 100 parts by weight gypsum in said first compartment; wherein there is in either or both the gypsum and water, 0.2 to 24 parts by weight of two or more of an acid selected from the group consisting of oxalic acid, boric acid, phosphoric acid, citric acid, sodium citric acid, tri-sodium citric acid, tartaric acid, sulfuric acid, acetic acid, formic acid, malic acid, ascorbic acid, and aspartic acid; and 0.0 to 12 parts by weight of one or more of a second compound selected from the group consisting of alkali metal sulfate, alkali metal metaborate, alkali metal tetraborate, and lower alkyl sulfoxide; the alkali metal is selected from the group consisting of lithium, potassium and sodium; and the lower alkyl is dimethyl.
- 26. The dental casting container of claim 25 wherein there are two or more of said acids.
- 27. The dental casting container of claim 26 wherein the two acids are boric acid and a phosphoric acid or trisodium citric acid.
