(J) DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 6 thereof, a new hair brush and comb device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 6, the hair brush and comb assembly 10 generally comprises a handle 12 that has a pair of receivers 14 each being integrated the handle 12. The handle 12 has a first end 16, a second end 18 and an outer surface 20 extending between the first end 16 and the second end 18. The outer surface 20 has a plurality of intersecting sides 22 such that the handle 12 has a rectangular shape, and the handle 12 is elongated between the first end 16 and the second end 18. The plurality of intersecting sides 22 includes a bottom side 24 and the bottom side 24 is scalloped adjacent to each of the first end 16 and the second end 18.

The first end 16 has a first well 26 extending toward the second end 18 such that the first well 26 defines a respective one of the receivers 14 and the first well 26 has a bounding surface 28. The bounding surface 28 has a first depression 30 that is recessed into the bounding surface 28. The second end 18 has a second well 32 extending toward the first end 16 such that the second well 32 defines a respective one of the receivers 14 and the second well 32 has a bounding surface 34. Additionally, the bounding surface 34 of the second well 32 has a second depression 36 that is recessed into the bounding surface 34 of the second well 32.

A comb 38 is provided which is removably attachable to a respective one of the receivers 14 to comb a user’s baby hairs 40 that commonly grow around a person’s hairline. The comb 38 comprises a member 42 that has a primary end 44, a secondary end 46 and a lower surface 48 extending between the primary end 44 and the secondary end 46. The member 42 is elongated between the primary end 44 and the secondary end 46, and the member 42 includes a first finger 50 extending away from the primary end 44. The first finger 50 is insertable into the first well 26 having the primary end 44 abutting the first end 16 of the handle 12.

The first finger 50 has a first lobe 52 extending away from the first finger 50. The first lobe 52 engages the first depression 30 in the bounding surface 28 of the first well 26 when the first finger 50 is inserted into the first well 26 for releasably retaining the first finger 50 in the first well 26. The comb 38 includes a plurality of teeth 54 that is each coupled to and extends away from the lower surface 48 of the member 42 to brush the user’s baby hairs 40. The teeth 54 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed between the primary end 44 and the secondary end 46. Each of the teeth 54 may be comprised of a resiliently compressible material such as rubber or the like.

A brush 56 is provided that is removably attachable to a respective one of the receivers 14 to brush the user’s baby hairs 40. The brush 56 comprises a panel 58 which has an upper surface 60, a lower surface 62 and a perimeter surface 64 extending between the upper surface 60 and the lower surface 48. The perimeter surface 64 has a first lateral side 66, a second lateral side 68, a third lateral side 70, a fourth lateral side 72 and a rear side 74. Each of the first lateral side 66 and the second lateral side 68 angle outwardly from a centerline 77 of the panel 58 such that the first lateral side 66 and the second lateral side 68 intersect at a first point 76. Additionally, each of the third lateral side 70 and the fourth lateral side 72 angle outwardly from the centerline 77 of the panel 58 such that the third lateral side 70 and the fourth lateral side 72 intersect at a second point 78.

The first point 76 is aligned with the second point 78 having the first point 76 opposing the second point 78 such that the panel 58 has a diamond shape. The rear side 74 extends between the second lateral side 68 and the fourth lateral side 72. The first lateral side 66 intersects the third lateral side 70 at a front point 80 opposing the rear side 74. Moreover, the centerline 77 of the panel 58 extends between the front point 80 and the rear side 74.

The panel 58 has a second finger 82 extending away from the rear side 74. The second finger 82 is insertable into the second well 32 having the rear side 74 abutting the second end 18 of the handle 12. Additionally, the second finger 82 has a second lobe 84 extending away from the second finger 82. The second lobe 84 engages the second depression 36 in the bounding surface 34 of the second well 32 when the second finger 82 is inserted into the second well 32 for releasably retaining the second finger 82 in the second well 32. The brush 56 includes a plurality of bristles 86. Each of the bristles 86 is coupled to and extends away from the lower surface 48 of the panel 58 to brush the user’s baby hairs 40. The plurality of bristles 86 is arranged into a plurality of rows 88 and the plurality of rows 88 extends between the rear side 74 and the front point 80. Additionally, each of the bristles 86 may be comprised of a stiffened material such as plastic or the like.

In use, each of the comb 38 and the brush 56 are manufactured to be sterile and are individually packaged. Each of the comb 38 and the brush 56 are attached to the handle 12 for brushing the user’s baby hairs 40 in a salon environment. Moreover, each of the comb 38 and the brush 56 are discarded when the comb 38 and the brush 56 are finished being employed. In this way the comb 38 and the brush 56 are inhibited from potentially transferring bacteria or infectious diseases between users. A new comb 38 and a new brush 56 are each attached to the handle 12 to facilitate another user’s baby hairs 40 to be brushed. In this way every user is exposed to a sterile and uncontaminated comb 38 and brush 56 when the user’s baby hairs 40 are brushed.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
