Abstract
A hair covering assembly for protecting a user's face and neck during hair treatment includes a hair cap that is worn over hair on a head when a fluid treatment has been applied to the hair. Thus, the hair cap inhibits the fluid treatment from spilling onto a user's face and neck. A first brim is coupled to the hair cap and the first brim angles rearwardly away from a back of the user's head when the hair cap is worn. A second brim is coupled to the hair cap and the second brim is positioned on an opposite side of the hair cap from the first brim. The second brim angles forwardly away from the user's forehead when the hair cap is worn.

The disclosure and prior art relates to covering devices and more particularly pertains to a new covering device for protecting a user's face and neck during hair treatment.


BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a hair cap that is worn over hair on a head when a fluid treatment has been applied to the hair. Thus, the hair cap inhibits the fluid treatment from spilling onto a user's face and neck. A first brim is coupled to the hair cap and the first brim angles rearwardly away from a back of the user's head when the hair cap is worn. A second brim is coupled to the hair cap and the second brim is positioned on an opposite side of the hair cap from the first brim. The second brim angles forwardly away from the user's forehead when the hair cap is worn.


There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.


The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 4 thereof, a new covering device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.


As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 4, the hair covering assembly 10 generally comprises a hair cap 12 that is worn over hair on a head 14 when a fluid treatment has been applied to the hair. Thus, the hair cap 12 inhibits the fluid treatment from spilling onto a user's face 16 and neck 18. The fluid treatment may be hair dye or other fluid that can be irritating to human skin. The hair cap 12 has an inwardly facing surface 20 and a perimeter edge 22. The inwardly facing surface 20 is concavely arcuate with respect to the perimeter edge 22 such that the hair cap 12 forms a dome-like shape.


The perimeter edge 22 defines an opening 24 into the hair cap 12 to receive the user's head 14. The hair cap 12 is comprised of a deformable and fluid impermeable material. Moreover, the hair cap 12 has a channel 26 therein and the channel 26 is aligned with and is coextensive with the perimeter edge 22. The channel 26 may be an integral structure with respect to the hair cap 12, the channel 26 may be in independent structure that is coupled to the hair cap 12 and the channel 26 may be formed by rolling the hair cap 12 onto itself. Additionally, the channel 26 has a pair of terminal ends 28 that are spaced apart from each other.


A band 30 is coupled to the hair cap 12 and the band 30 abuts the user's skin when the hair cap 12 is worn. The band 30 is comprised of a fluid absorbent material to absorb the fluid treatment that passes between the user's skin and the hair cap 12. In this way the band 30 inhibit the fluid treatment from leaving the hair cap 12 and contacting the user's face 16 or neck 18. The band 30 is positioned on the inwardly facing surface 20 of the hair cap 12. Moreover, the band 30 is aligned with and is coextensive with the perimeter edge 22 of the hair cap 12.


A first brim 32 is coupled to the hair cap 12 and the first brim 32 is oriented to angle rearwardly away from a vertical centerline of the hair cap 12. Thus, the first brim 32 angles rearwardly away from a back of the user's head 14 when the hair cap 12 is worn. The first brim 32 has a first edge 34 and a second edge 36, and the second edge 36 is concavely arcuate with respect to the first edge 34. The first edge 34 is aligned with the channel 26 in the hair cap 12 having the second edge 36 curving upwardly on the hair cap 12. The first brim 32 may be comprised of a deformation resistant material thereby supporting the hair cap 12 away from the hair when the hair cap 12 is worn.


A second brim 38 is coupled to the hair cap 12 and the second brim 38 is positioned on an opposite side of the hair cap 12 from the first brim 32. The second brim 38 is oriented to angle forwardly from the vertical centerline of the hair cap 12. Thus, the second brim 38 angles forwardly away from the user's forehead 14 when the hair cap 12 is worn. The second brim 38 has a primary edge 40 and a secondary edge 42, and the secondary edge 42 is concavely arcuate with respect to the primary edge 40. The primary edge 40 is aligned with the channel 26 in the hair cap 12 having the secondary edge 42 curving upwardly on the hair cap 12. Additionally, the second brim 38 may be comprised of a deformation resistant material thereby supporting the hair cap 12 away from the hair when the hair cap 12 is worn. The first brim 32 may have a height and a width greater than that of the second brim 38.


A mating member 44 is provided and the mating member 44 is coupled to the hair cap 12. The mating member 44 is matable to itself when the hair cap 12 is worn thereby retaining the hair cap 12 on the user's head 14. The mating member 44 has a first end 46 and a second end 48, and the mating member 44 is slidably positioned in the channel 26. Additionally, the mating member 44 extends outwardly through each of the terminal ends 28 of the channel 26 having each of the first 46 and second 48 ends being exposed. The mating member 44 is tightened around the user's head 14 when the hair cap 12 is worn and the first end 46 is mated to the second end 48.


In use, the hair cap 12 is worn over the hair when the fluid treatment has been applied to the hair. The first brim 32 is positioned on the user's forehead and the second brim 38 is positioned on the back of the user's head 14. The mating member 44 is tightened on the user's head 14 and the mating member 44 is mated to itself. The hair cap 12 and the band 30 inhibit the fluid treatment from contacting the user's neck 18 and face 16 while the fluid treatment is on the hair. The hair cap 12 is worn until such time that the fluid treatment is to be washed from the hair.


With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.


Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.

Claims
  • 1. A hair covering assembly being worn during hair coloring procedures wherein said assembly is configured to inhibit hair dye from contacting a user's neck and face, said assembly comprising: a hair cap being worn over hair on a head when a fluid treatment has been applied to the hair wherein said hair cap is configured to inhibit the fluid treatment from spilling onto a user's face and neck;a first brim being coupled to said hair cap, said first brim being oriented to angle rearwardly away from a vertical centerline of said hair cap wherein said first brim is configured to angle rearwardly away from a back of the user's head when said hair cap is worn; anda second brim being coupled to said hair cap, said second brim being positioned on an opposite side of said hair cap from said first brim, said second brim being oriented to angle forwardly from said vertical centerline of said hair cap wherein said second brim is configured to angle forwardly away from the user's forehead when said hair cap is worn.
  • 2. The assembly according to claim 1, wherein said hair cap has an inwardly facing surface and a perimeter edge, said inwardly facing surface being concavely arcuate with respect to said perimeter edge such that said hair cap forms a dome-like shape having said perimeter edge defining an opening into said hair cap wherein said opening is configured to receive the user's head, said hair cap being comprised of a deformable and fluid impermeable material.
  • 3. The assembly according to claim 2, wherein said hair cap has a channel therein being aligned with and being coextensive with said perimeter edge.
  • 4. The assembly according to claim 2, further comprising a band being coupled to said hair cap, said band abutting the user's skin when said hair cap is worn, said band being comprised of a fluid absorbent material to absorb the fluid treatment passes between the user's skin and said hair cap wherein said band is configured to inhibit the fluid treatment from leaving said hair cap.
  • 5. The assembly according to claim 4, wherein said band is positioned on said inwardly facing surface of said hair cap, said band being aligned with and being coextensive with said perimeter edge of said hair cap.
  • 6. The assembly according to claim 3, wherein said first brim has a first edge and a second edge, said second edge being concavely arcuate with respect to said first edge, said first edge being aligned with said channel in said hair cap having said second edge curving upwardly on said hair cap.
  • 7. The assembly according to claim 3, wherein said second brim has a primary edge and a secondary edge, said secondary edge being concavely arcuate with respect to said primary edge, said primary edge being aligned with said channel in said hair cap having said secondary edge curving upwardly on said hair cap.
  • 8. The assembly according to claim 3, further comprising a mating member being coupled to said hair cap, said mating member being matable to itself when said hair cap is worn wherein said mating member is configured to retain said hair cap on the user's head.
  • 9. The assembly according to claim 8, wherein said mating member has a first end and a second end, said mating member being slidably positioned in said channel having each of said first end and said second end being exposed, said mating member being tightened around the user's head when said hair cap is worn having said first end being mated to said second end.
  • 10. A hair covering assembly being worn during hair coloring procedures wherein said assembly is configured to inhibit hair dye from contacting a user's neck and face, said assembly comprising: a hair cap being worn over hair on a head when a fluid treatment has been applied to the hair wherein said hair cap is configured to inhibit the fluid treatment from spilling onto a user's face and neck, said hair cap having, an inwardly facing surface and a perimeter edge, said inwardly facing surface being concavely arcuate with respect to said perimeter edge such that said hair cap forms a dome-like shape having said perimeter edge defining an opening into said hair cap wherein said opening is configured to receive the user's head, said hair cap being comprised of a deformable and fluid impermeable material, said hair cap having a channel therein being aligned with and being coextensive with said perimeter edge;a band being coupled to said hair cap, said band abutting the user's skin when said hair cap is worn, said band being comprised of a fluid absorbent material to absorb the fluid treatment passes between the user's skin and said hair cap wherein said band is configured to inhibit the fluid treatment from leaving said hair cap, said band being positioned on said inwardly facing surface of said hair cap, said band being aligned with and being coextensive with said perimeter edge of said hair cap;a first brim being coupled to said hair cap, said first brim being oriented to angle rearwardly away from a vertical centerline of said hair cap wherein said first brim is configured to angle rearwardly away from a back of the user's head when said hair cap is worn, said first brim having a first edge and a second edge, said second edge being concavely arcuate with respect to said first edge, said first edge being aligned with said channel in said hair cap having said second edge curving upwardly on said hair cap;a second brim being coupled to said hair cap, said second brim being positioned on an opposite side of said hair cap from said first brim, said second brim being oriented to angle forwardly from said vertical centerline of said hair cap wherein said second brim is configured to angle forwardly away from the user's forehead when said hair cap is worn, said second brim having a primary edge and a secondary edge, said secondary edge being concavely arcuate with respect to said primary edge, said primary edge being aligned with said channel in said hair cap having said secondary edge curving upwardly on said hair cap; anda mating member being coupled to said hair cap, said mating member being matable to itself when said hair cap is worn wherein said mating member is configured to retain said hair cap on the user's head, said mating member having a first end and a second end, said mating member being slidably positioned in said channel having each of said first end and said second end being exposed, said mating member being tightened around the user's head when said hair cap is worn having said first end being mated to said second end.
