The disclosure and prior art relates to covering devices and more particularly pertains to a new covering device for protecting a user's face and neck during hair treatment.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a hair cap that is worn over hair on a head when a fluid treatment has been applied to the hair. Thus, the hair cap inhibits the fluid treatment from spilling onto a user's face and neck. A first brim is coupled to the hair cap and the first brim angles rearwardly away from a back of the user's head when the hair cap is worn. A second brim is coupled to the hair cap and the second brim is positioned on an opposite side of the hair cap from the first brim. The second brim angles forwardly away from the user's forehead when the hair cap is worn.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.

The perimeter edge 22 defines an opening 24 into the hair cap 12 to receive the user's head 14. The hair cap 12 is comprised of a deformable and fluid impermeable material. Moreover, the hair cap 12 has a channel 26 therein and the channel 26 is aligned with and is coextensive with the perimeter edge 22. The channel 26 may be an integral structure with respect to the hair cap 12, the channel 26 may be in independent structure that is coupled to the hair cap 12 and the channel 26 may be formed by rolling the hair cap 12 onto itself. Additionally, the channel 26 has a pair of terminal ends 28 that are spaced apart from each other.
A band 30 is coupled to the hair cap 12 and the band 30 abuts the user's skin when the hair cap 12 is worn. The band 30 is comprised of a fluid absorbent material to absorb the fluid treatment that passes between the user's skin and the hair cap 12. In this way the band 30 inhibit the fluid treatment from leaving the hair cap 12 and contacting the user's face 16 or neck 18. The band 30 is positioned on the inwardly facing surface 20 of the hair cap 12. Moreover, the band 30 is aligned with and is coextensive with the perimeter edge 22 of the hair cap 12.
A first brim 32 is coupled to the hair cap 12 and the first brim 32 is oriented to angle rearwardly away from a vertical centerline of the hair cap 12. Thus, the first brim 32 angles rearwardly away from a back of the user's head 14 when the hair cap 12 is worn. The first brim 32 has a first edge 34 and a second edge 36, and the second edge 36 is concavely arcuate with respect to the first edge 34. The first edge 34 is aligned with the channel 26 in the hair cap 12 having the second edge 36 curving upwardly on the hair cap 12. The first brim 32 may be comprised of a deformation resistant material thereby supporting the hair cap 12 away from the hair when the hair cap 12 is worn.
A second brim 38 is coupled to the hair cap 12 and the second brim 38 is positioned on an opposite side of the hair cap 12 from the first brim 32. The second brim 38 is oriented to angle forwardly from the vertical centerline of the hair cap 12. Thus, the second brim 38 angles forwardly away from the user's forehead 14 when the hair cap 12 is worn. The second brim 38 has a primary edge 40 and a secondary edge 42, and the secondary edge 42 is concavely arcuate with respect to the primary edge 40. The primary edge 40 is aligned with the channel 26 in the hair cap 12 having the secondary edge 42 curving upwardly on the hair cap 12. Additionally, the second brim 38 may be comprised of a deformation resistant material thereby supporting the hair cap 12 away from the hair when the hair cap 12 is worn. The first brim 32 may have a height and a width greater than that of the second brim 38.
A mating member 44 is provided and the mating member 44 is coupled to the hair cap 12. The mating member 44 is matable to itself when the hair cap 12 is worn thereby retaining the hair cap 12 on the user's head 14. The mating member 44 has a first end 46 and a second end 48, and the mating member 44 is slidably positioned in the channel 26. Additionally, the mating member 44 extends outwardly through each of the terminal ends 28 of the channel 26 having each of the first 46 and second 48 ends being exposed. The mating member 44 is tightened around the user's head 14 when the hair cap 12 is worn and the first end 46 is mated to the second end 48.
In use, the hair cap 12 is worn over the hair when the fluid treatment has been applied to the hair. The first brim 32 is positioned on the user's forehead and the second brim 38 is positioned on the back of the user's head 14. The mating member 44 is tightened on the user's head 14 and the mating member 44 is mated to itself. The hair cap 12 and the band 30 inhibit the fluid treatment from contacting the user's neck 18 and face 16 while the fluid treatment is on the hair. The hair cap 12 is worn until such time that the fluid treatment is to be washed from the hair.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure.
