Abstract

To provide a hair curler in which large areas to put on fingers are maintained at two ends of the curler and facilitate use, a lot of hairs can be wound at once, hairs are hardly left unwound, and hairs can be wound loosely or vertically with ease. A hair curler of the present invention is provided with a hair winder outside a cylindrical core, and has extensions to put on fingers on two ends of the hair curler. A metal member may be attached between the cylindrical core made of synthetic resin and the hair winder. The extensions may be constructed to be continuous to and integral with the hair winder.

Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a hair curler which is usable set on a head with hair wounded thereon.

BACKGROUND ART

There has been a conventional hair curler in which a hair winder is provided outside a cylindrical core as described in Patent Document 1. This kind of hair curler has a so small width as about 60 to 65 mm. Therefore, hair curlers can be positioned such that the curlers do not contact each other when plural hair curlers are used simultaneously.

On the other side, sufficient areas to allow fingers to put on are not maintained at two ends of the hair curler. The hair curler is therefore hard to use. Besides, a lot of hairs cannot be wound because of the small width. When hair spreads, hair easily unwinds. The hair curler is therefore not suitable for loosely or vertically curling hairs.

[Object of the Invention]

The present invention hence has an object of providing a hair curler in which large areas to put on fingers are maintained at two ends of the curler and facilitate use, and which allows a lot of hairs to be wound at once, causes less hairs to be left unwound, and allows hairs to be curled loosely or vertically with ease.

[Means for Achieving the Object]

A hair curler according to the present invention comprises a hair winder provided outside a cylindrical core, wherein the hair curler has, at two ends thereof, extensions to put on fingers.

A metal member may be attached between the cylindrical core made of synthetic resin and the hair winder.

The extensions H may be constructed to be continuous to and integral with the hair winder.

[Advantage of the Invention]

The hair curler according to the present invention has a structure as described above. Since large areas, which allow fingers to be put on, are maintained at two ends of the hair curler, the hair curler is easy to use. In addition, a lot of hairs can be wound at once, and hairs are hardly left unwound. Hairs can be curled loosely or vertically with more ease.

[Best Mode for Carrying Out the Invention]

In a hair curler according to the present invention, a hair winder 2 is provided outside a cylindrical core 1. The hair curler has, at two ends thereof, extensions H to allow fingers to put on.

Preferred embodiments of the present invention will now be described below with reference to the appended drawings.

In the hair curler shown in the figures, a metal member 3 is wound on the cylindrical core 1, like in the other hair curler shown in Patent Document 1. A hair winder 2 is wound on the metal member 3. Thus, the metal member 3 is attached between the cylindrical core 1 and the hair winder 2.

The cylindrical core 1 has a width of about 90 to 130 mm and a diameter of 25 to 60 mm. It is particularly preferred that the width is about 105 mm and the diameter is about 40 mm. If the width is smaller than 90 mm, the area of the extension H is too small to ensure easy handling, and hairs may easily be left unwound. If the width is greater than 130 mm, the long extension H causes difficulties in setting hair curlers on hairs in the front, top, and back of the head.

The cylindrical core 1 is formed by integral molding from synthetic resin in a structure having a large number of through holes 6 sectioned by plural longitudinal frames 4 and lateral frames 5. Air permeability thus improves. However, there are no particular limitations as far as the cylindrical core 1 is made of synthetic resin.

The metal member 3 can preferably be wound on the cylindrical core 1, and may be made of a thin plate such as an aluminum plate or an iron plate. However, any metal member 3 can be used as far as the member can be attached between the cylindrical core 1 and the hair winder 2. A large number of through holes 7 are also formed in the metal member 3 to improve air permeability.

The hair winder 2, as a structure having a surface on which a lot of fine hook-like hair stoppers are grown densely on a net 9, can be wound on the metal member 3. Alternatively, the hair winder 2 may be a structure covered with a sponge-like cylindrical member (not shown). The hair winder 2 is not particularly limited as far as hair can be wound on the hair winder 2.

The hair stoppers 8 are not provided within areas of 20 mm from two ends of the curler. These areas where the hair stoppers 8 do not exist are extensions H to put on fingers. The width of the extension H can be varied appropriately in practical use.

The hair curler according to the present invention can be set on hairs in the front, top, and back of the head, as shown in FIG. 3. In any cases of setting the hair curler, the hair curler can be used very easily since the hair curler can be used with fingers put on the extensions H at two ends. Besides, the large width of the extension causes less hair to be left unwound, enables a loose curl, and allows tails of hairs to be curled vertically.

The hair curler is set on the head of the user by winding hair on the hair winder 2. Hair is blown with hot air from a drier. Thus, curling does not take a long time but sufficient curling can be effected. Specifically, the heat of hot air from the drier blowing hair is transferred to the metal member 3, raising the temperature of the metal member 3. In this case, the metal member 3 is attached between the cylindrical core 1 and the hair winder 2, and is therefore hard to cool down and has an excellent heat retaining property. Even if hair is not constantly kept blown with hot air, the raised temperature of the whole hair curler is kept. Accordingly, the hair wound on the hair winder 2 can be curled sufficiently without taking a long time.

Further, in the hair curler according to the present invention, the metal member 3 can be so thin that material can be reduced and manufacture and processing do not require much labor.

FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing another embodiment of the present invention. In this hair curler, extensions H are formed to be continuous to and integral with the hair winder 2. The other features of the structure are the same as those of the hair curler shown in FIG. 1. In this hair curler, hair stoppers 8 are provided up to areas near two ends of the curler. The areas on which hair can be wound are thus enlarged. Therefore, much less hairs are left unwound, and hair can be curled loosely or vertically with more ease.

Claims

1. A hair curler comprising a hair winder provided outside a cylindrical core, wherein the hair curler has, at two ends thereof, extensions to put on fingers.

2. The hair curler according to claim 1, wherein a metal member is attached between the cylindrical core made of synthetic resin and the hair winder.

3. The hair curler according to claim 1, wherein the extensions are constructed to be continuous to and integral with the hair winder.

4. The hair curler according to claim 2, wherein the extensions are constructed to be continuous to and integral with the hair winder.
