1. Field of the Invention
The present invention relates to a hair curling device used to form and shape hair and, more particularly, to a hair curling device having a resilient sheath to keep the hair securely attached to a hair roller.
2. Description of the Related Art
Generally a variety of hair rollers which may be heated by steam, by electricity, and by a combination of steam and electricity have been used for imparting curls to straight strands of hair. More particularly, both professional hair stylists and individuals have used hair rollers to alter the shape and configuration of straight hair to approximate the appearance of natural curls.
Most prior art hair rollers have an elongated cylindrical configuration and may be solid or hollow. In use, the hair is separated into groups of strands, with each group of strands being tightly wrapped around the exterior cylindrical surface of the roller. The wrapped strand is then fixed relative to the roller by any suitable means such as a bobby pin. When the strand is unwrapped from the roller after a suitable period of time, curls will be formed along the length thereof.
However, the common suitable means can not provide the group of strands fixed securely and quickly, when a lot of or a little hair is separated into the groups of strands. The common suitable means such as a bobby pin get lost easily when detached with the hair roller.
Moreover, the conventional hair rollers cannot attach with the group of strands of hair securely because they usually have a flat and smooth outside surface so that the hair will slide with respect to the outside surface of the conventional hair roller easily to cause the curvature of the hair to be controlled hardly.
The present invention is, therefore, intended to obviate or at least alleviate the problems encountered in the prior art.
According to the present invention, a hair curling device includes a hair roller adapted to provide the hair wrapped and attached on it, and a resilient sheath adapted for surrounding the hair roller. The resilient sheath is adapted to be changed in the elastic deformation with respect to the outlines of the hair roller to surround and abut against the hair roller to keep a lot of or a little hair securely attached to the hair roller.
In view of the foregoing, it is an object of the present invention that the resilient sheath is adapted to be changed in the elastic deformation with respect to the outlines of the hair roller to surround and abut against the hair roller to keep a lot of or a little hair securely attached to the hair roller.
It is another object of the present invention that the hair curling device is adapted to be used to form and shape hair in any length.
It is another object of the present invention that the hair curling device only includes two elements to manufacture easily and faster.
It is yet another object of the present invention that the hair wrapped around and received in the spiral groove cannot slide with respect to the side edge so that it not only can save time but also control the curvature of the hair easily.
It is further object of the present invention that the second annular portion is firmly coupled with the periphery of the second end face to avoid the sheath and hair roller getting lost easily when detached.
Other objects, advantages, and new features of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description of the invention when considered in conjunction with the accompanied drawings.

Referring to
The hair roller 10 includes first and second ends 11 and 12 disposed at two opposite ends thereof and extended along a longitudinal axis thereof. A side edge 13 is extended between the first and second ends 11 and 12. In the embodiment, the hair roller 10 is generally formed as a solid cylinder. The first and second ends 11 and 12 respectively include first and second end faces 111 and 121. A periphery of the first end face 111 and a periphery of the second end face 121 are respectively surrounded and delimited by the side edge 13. The peripheries of the first and second end faces 111 and 121 are respectively defined first and second circumferences, and a periphery of the side edge 13 is defined a third circumference. The hair roller 10 further includes a spiral groove 14 extended along the longitudinal axis thereof from the first end 11 to the second end 12. The spiral groove 14 includes an arc shaped bottom 141 adapted for receiving the hair 9 and a plurality of turning sections 142 arranged to space the side edge 13. Each two of the plurality of turning sections 142 are defined a longitudinal distance. The longitudinal distances are able to control and relate with the curvature of the hair 9. However, the short longitudinal distances are able to wrapping the hair 9 more curly than the long longitudinal distances. The hair 9 is wrapped around and received in the spiral groove 14, so that the hair 9 is attached to the arc shaped bottom 141 and the plurality of turning sections 142 to cause the hair 9 cannot slide with respect to the side edge 13. Therefore, the hair 9 received in the spiral groove 14 not only can save time, but also control the curvature of the hair 9 easily.
The resilient sheath 20 is adapted for surrounding and covering the hair roller 10 and the hair 9 wrapped around the spiral groove 14 to keep the hair 9 securely attached to the hair roller 10. The resilient sheath 20 includes first and second annular portions 21 and 22 disposed at two opposite ends thereof and extended along a longitudinal axis thereof. A side portion 23 is extended between the first and second annular portions 21 and 22. A periphery of the first annular portion 21 and a periphery of the second annular portion 22 are respectively surrounded and delimited by the side portion 23. The peripheries of the first and second end faces 111 and 121 are respectively received in and abutted against the first and second annular portions 21 and 22. An inner peripheries of the first and second annular portions 21 and 22 are respectively defined fourth and fifth circumferences, and an inner periphery of the side portion 23 is defined a sixth circumference. Furthermore, the fourth circumference is less than the first circumference, and the fifth circumference is less than the second circumference, and the sixth circumference is less than the third circumference. The side portion 23 are faced to and adapted to attach with the side edge 13, so that the hair 9 is disposed between the side portion 23 and the side edge 13 to be fixed in the spiral groove 14. Moreover, in a preferred form, the side portion 23 includes a plurality of first and second strings 231 and 232 interlacing to each other to form a plurality of quadrilateral meshes 233. Two opposite ends of the first string 231 are respectively connected with the first and second annular portions 21 and 22, and two opposite ends of the second string 232 are respectively connected with the first and second annular portions 21 and 22, too. The plurality of meshes 233 causes the smooth circulation of the internal and external air of the resilient sheath 20.
Hence, the hair 9 is separated into a group of strands, with the group of strands receiving in the spiral groove 14 and being wrapped around the hair roller 10. The resilient sheath 20 is adapted to be changed in the elastic deformation with respect to the outlines of the hair roller 10 to surround and abut against the hair roller 10, so that the first and second annular portions 21 and 22 of the resilient sheath 20 are respectively abutted against the periphery of the first end face 111 and the periphery of the second end face 121, and the side portion 23 of the resilient sheath 20 is abutted against the side edge 13 of the hair roller 10 and the group of strands of the hair 9 received in the spiral groove 14 to keep the hair 9 securely attached to the hair roller 10 (as shown in
In view of the foregoing, it is an object of the present invention that the resilient sheath is adapted to be changed in the elastic deformation with respect to the outlines of the hair roller to surround and abut against the hair roller to keep a lot of or a little hair securely attached to the hair roller.
Thus since the invention disclosed herein may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit or general characteristics thereof, some of which forms have been indicated, the embodiments described herein is to be considered in all respects illustrative and not restrictive. The scope of the invention is to be indicated by the appended claims, rather than by the foregoing description, and all changes which come within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claims are intended to be embraced therein.
