The present invention relates generally to the field of haircut capes. More specifically, the present invention relates to a haircut cape device that preferably resembles the upper body and cape of a superhero. The body of the device is also comprised of a curved lip that encircles the body such that any hair cut from the user during a haircut is collected within the lip. The lip preferably ends above the lower arm of the user such that their hands are free to move during the haircut. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.
Haircut capes are used during a haircut to prevent hair from falling on the wearer. However, existing haircut capes known in the art are hot and restrictive. As a result, young children may be reluctant to wear a haircut cape during a haircut. In addition, existing haircut capes often allow hair to fall onto the floor from the cape, which is undesirable as the floor must then be swept regularly. Furthermore, existing haircut capes known in the art obstruct the hands of a wearer during use. As a result, a user cannot use their cell phone without removing their hands and lower arms from under the haircut cape. This is undesirable as cut hair may then fall on the hands and arms of the wearer.
Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an improved haircut cape device. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a haircut cape device that is less restrictive on the wearer than existing haircut capes known in the art. In addition, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a haircut cape device that is more breathable on the wearer than existing haircut capes known in the art. Further, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a haircut cape device that is appealing to children. Finally, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a haircut cape device that allows a user to use their cell phone during a haircut without allowing cut hair to fall on the user's hands, arms, and cell phone.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a haircut cape device. The device is primarily comprised of a body with a lip, a neck opening, and at least one indicia. The body of the device preferably resembles a superhero's upper body and cape. The lip encircles the bottom of the body and is curved such that any hair cut from a user is caught between the lip and the body and does not fall onto the user. The device is preferably sized such that the bottom of the body ends above the elbow of the user. In this manner, a user is free to move their lower arms and use their hands and a cell phone during a haircut while wearing the device.
In this manner, the haircut cape device of the present invention accomplishes all the foregoing objectives and provides an improved haircut cape device that is less restrictive on the wearer and that is more breathable on the wearer than existing haircut capes known in the art. Further, the superhero theme of the device makes the device more appealing to children. In addition, the lip allows a user to use their cell phone during a haircut without allowing cut hair to fall on the user's hands, arms, and cell phone.
The following presents a simplified summary to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some general concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a haircut cape device primarily comprised of a body with a lip, a neck opening, and at least one indicia. The body is designed to fit over the shoulders, back, and chest area of the user during a haircut. It should be appreciated that during use, the device does not obstruct the lower arms and hands of a user. In this manner, the user can still access and use a cell phone while getting their hair cut.
The body is preferably colored in the color scheme of a superhero. The body is preferably made from a flexible material. The body may be one continuous piece of material or may have a first half and a second half that are connected at the rear of the body via at least one flexible connector that allows the body to stretch such that the body can accommodate larger users.
The body is comprised of an opening that functions as a neck hole. This allows the body to be placed over a user. The body is also comprised of a flared lip that serves to collect any hair cut from the user's head during a haircut while wearing the device. The lip is preferably a curved shape and encircles the entirety of the bottom of the body to prevent any cut hair from falling to the floor around the user.
The body may also be comprised of a cape. The area of the lip at the rear of the body may further be included as part of the cape such that it gives the appearance that the cape flows from the body (while the lip still functions to collect hair). The cape may have the appearance of any superhero cape known in the art.
The present invention is also comprised of a method of use. The method first involves providing a device comprised of a body with a lip and an opening, and a neck cover. Then, the neck cover is secured around the neck of a user. Then, the body is placed over the head of the user such that the user's head/neck travel through the opening and the user's chest, back, and shoulders are covered by the body. Next, the user's hair can be cut, wherein the cut hair is collected between the body and the lip. After the haircut is complete, the body can be removed from the user by lifting it upward around the head of the user, wherein the cut hair collected between the lip and the body can be discarded.
Accordingly, the haircut cape device of the present invention is particularly advantageous as it provides an improved haircut cape device that is less restrictive on the wearer and that is more breathable on the wearer than existing haircut capes known in the art. In addition, the superhero theme of the device makes the device more appealing to children. Furthermore, the lip allows a user to use their cell phone during a haircut without allowing cut hair to fall on the user's hands, arms, and cell phone. In this manner, the haircut cape device overcomes the limitations of existing haircut capes known in the art.
