Not applicable.
The present invention relates to a half head wig, and more particularly, to a half head wig having an upper wig base, a lower wig base and a plurality of attachment means.
Generally, wigs are divided into full-head wigs, partial wigs (called toupees or hairpieces), and wigs for a baldhead. The wigs generally include a wig base having a convexly curved surface conforming to the shape of wearer's head and a plurality of hairs attached to the wig base. The wig base includes a net or network bands made of nylon fiber, polyester fibers, polyurethane, polycarbonate, artificial skin or the like. The wig hairs are natural, synthetic or combination thereof.
Conventional full head wigs are placed on top of the natural hair, and hot, cumbersome and bulky. In addition, full head wigs do not satisfy the needs of partially bald wearers. Person having hair loss on top and/or crown of his head may have natural hair on the temple, side or nape of his head and he may need partial wig. To meet this kind of need, toupees or hairpieces are on the market. However, a half-head wig, covering up to a frontal margin of wig wearer's head, has never been introduced on the market. In addition to meeting the needs of partially bald people, a half-head wig can satisfy various needs of style and fashion.
Therefore, to solve the above problems, there is a need for a half head wig having an upper wig base, a lower wig base and a plurality of attachment means. This invention is directed to solve these problems and satisfy the long-felt need.
The present invention contrives to solve the disadvantages of the prior art. The present invention provides a half head wig. The half wig is substantially symmetrical to right and left of the wig wearer's head. The half head wig extends to a vicinity of a frontal margin of the wig wearer's head, but it does not extend to a vicinity of bases of the wig wearer's ears such that wig wearer's temporal hair is exposed when the wig wearer wears the half head wig.
The object of the invention is to provide a half head wig having an upper wig base, a lower wig base and a plurality of attachment means. The upper and lower bases are connected to each other, each holding hair pieces. The upper wig base extends to a vicinity of a frontal margin of the wig wearer's head, but it does not extend to a vicinity of bases of the wig wearer's ears such that wig wearer's temporal hair is exposed when the wig wearer wears the half head wig. The lower wig base sits on a nape of the wig user's head.
Another object of the invention is to provide a half head wig having an upper wig base, a lower wig base and a plurality of attachment means. A front attachment means is attached to a front peripheral edge of the upper wig base and a side attachment means is attached to side strips of the lower wig base. In addition, a bottom attachment means is attached to a rear portion of the lower wig base.
Still another object of the invention is to provide a half head wig having an upper wig base, a lower wig base and a plurality of attachment means. The upper and lower wig bases respectively hold first and second hairpieces. A peripheral edge of the upper wig base holds a third hairpiece on the opposite side of the upper wig base from the first hairpiece. Side strips of the lower wig base hold a fourth hairpiece on the opposite side of the lower wig base from the second hairpiece. In addition, a rear portion of the lower wig base holds a fifth hairpiece on the same side of the lower wig base from the second hairpiece.
The advantages of the present invention are: (1) the present invention provides a half head wig to satisfy various needs of style and fashion; (2) the half head wig of the present invention satisfies the needs of partially bald people; and (3) the half head wig of the present invention has a simple structure and thus, it is easy and convenient to use and the manufacturing cost is low.

The half head wig 100 includes an upper wig base 10 adapted to hold a first hairpiece 11 and a lower wig base 20 adapted to hold a second hairpiece 21. The lower wig base 20 is fixedly attached to the upper wig base 10 by such as sewing. The upper wig base 10 sits on a top and a crown of a wig wearer's head whereas the lower wig base 20 sits on a nape of the wig user's head. Top, crown and nape of a person's head are illustrated in
The upper wig base 10 extends to a vicinity of a frontal margin of the wig wearer's head, but it 10 does not extend to a vicinity of bases of the wig wearer's ears such that wig wearer's temporal hair is exposed even when the wig wearer wears the half head wig 100. In case of a full head wig, the wig base arrangement extends to a vicinity of a frontal margin of the wig wearer's head and also extends to the base of his ears for covering substantially all of his hair. However, the upper wig base 10 of the half head wig 100 of the present invention only extends about half way to the base of his ears. The upper wig base 10 extends substantially symmetrically sideways to the left and right of the wig wearer's head and thus, the upper wig base 10 and the lower wig base 20 are substantially symmetrical to right and left of the wig wearer's head. Alternatively, the wig bases 10 and 20 may not by symmetrically to meet a wig wearer's preferences.
The wig bases 10 and 20 are constructed and configured to form a snug-fit or tight fit on the wearer's head. However, unlike a full head wig which does not require an additional attachment means, the half head wig 100 requires additional attachment means.
The wig bases 10 and 20 are generally lightweight and include wig network bands 12 and 22 to hold hairpieces 11 and 21. The wig bases 10 and 20 may be made out of a variety of types and styles of fabrics such as an elasticated. The fabrics may be synthetic or natural or a combination thereof such as lace, cotton, lycra, silk, wool, nylon, rayon, etc.
Preferably, the upper wig base 10 extends to a vicinity of a frontal margin of the wig wearer's head, but it does not extend to a vicinity of bases of the wig wearer's ears such that wig wearer's temporal hair is exposed when the wig wearer wears the half head wig. The upper wig base 10 sits on the top and crown of a wearer's head and extends symmetrically sideways to the left and right. In addition, the lower wig base 20 sits on a nape of the wig user's head. The lower wig base 20 is symmetrical to the right and left of the head as well.
The upper wig base 10 comprises first wig network bands 12 and a peripheral edge 13 and the first wig network bands 12 hold the first hairpiece 11. The first wig network bands 12 may comprise a wig weft. The first hairpiece 11 includes a plurality of hairs which are natural, synthetic or both thereof. In addition, the peripheral edge 13 holds a third hairpiece 14 affixed thereto along the peripheral edge 13. The third hairpiece 13 includes a plurality of hairs which are natural, synthetic or both thereof. Preferably, the first and third hairpieces 11 and 13 are affixed to opposite sides of the upper wig base 10. The third hairpiece 13 prevents the wig 100 or the peripheral edge 13 from being exposed or visible to others.
The peripheral edge 13 comprises a front peripheral edge 15, side peripheral edges 16 and a bottom peripheral edge 17 and the bottom peripheral edge 17 is attached to the lower wig base 20. The front and side peripheral edges 15 and 16 hold the third hairpiece 14 and the bottom peripheral edge 17 may or may not hold the third hairpiece 14.
The front attachment means 18 is fixedly attached to the front peripheral edge 15 and preferably, the front attachment means 18 comprises a pair of combs or head fixing pins.
The lower wig base 20 comprises second wig network bands 22, inner strips 25 and side strips 26 and the second wig network bands 22 hold the second hairpiece 21. The second wig network 22 may comprise a wig weft. The inner and side strips 25 and 26 are elastic and expandable.
The side strips 26 hold a fourth hairpiece 14 affixed thereto along the side strips 26. The fourth hairpiece 14 prevents the wig 100 or the side strips 26 from being exposed or visible to others. Preferably, the second and fourth hairpieces 21 and 24 are affixed to opposite sides of the lower wig base 20. The second and fourth hairpieces 21 and 24 are natural, synthetic or both thereof
The inner and side strips 25 and 26 are fixedly attached to the peripheral edge 13. A pair of side attachment means 28 are respectively fixedly attached to the side strips 26, preferably, near the peripheral edge 13. The pair of side attachment means 28 may be combs or head fixing pins.
The lower wig base 20 may further comprise a rear portion 30 and the inner, and side strips 25 and 26 terminate at and are fixedly attached to the rear portion 30. The rear portion 30 holds a fifth hairpiece 31.
A bottom attachment means 38 is fixedly attached to the rear portion 30. The bottom attachment means 38 may be combs, head fixing pins or a wig clip, but preferably, it 38 may be a wig clip because the bottom attachment means 38 requires the strongest attachment.
A pair of expandable bands 32 may be respectively fixedly attached to the side strips 26 and detachably attached to the rear portion 30 for adjusting peripheral length of the lower wig base 20 to fit the size of a wearer's head so that the wearer can have a good wearing sensation. Alternatively, the bands 32 may be fixedly attached to the rear portion 30 and detachably attached to the side strips 26. The bands 32 may be made of a flexible and expandable material.
An elasticated net may be fixedly attached along to the peripheral edge 13 and the first wig network bands 12 may be attached to the elasticated net. Or, the upper wig base 10 may further comprise an expandable mesh and a hair weft is attached to the expandable mesh in a continuous spiral form. A weft is a strip of hairs sewn side by side and may be attached to the wig base 10 or 20 in any desired pattern.
While the invention has been shown and described with reference to different embodiments thereof, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that variations in form, detail, compositions and operation may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined by the accompanying claims.
