Claims
- 1. A secretolytic pharmaceutical dosage unit composition consisting essentially of an inert pharmaceutical carrier and an effective secretolytic amount of a compound of the formula ##STR36## wherein X is chlorine or bromine;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, chlorine or bromine;
- R.sub.2 is isopropyl; tert.butyl; tert.pentyl; mono-, di or tri-hydroxy-substituted branched alkyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms; cyclohexyl; or hydroxycyclohexyl; and
- R.sub.3 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or, when R.sub.2 is other than cyclohexyl, also hydrogen;
- or a non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
- 2. The method of stimulating the secretion of respiratory fluids in a warm-blooded animal, which comprises perorally, parenterally or rectally administering to said animal an effective secretolytic amount of a compound of the formula ##STR37## wherein X is chlorine or bromine;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, chlorine or bromine;
- R.sub.2 is isopropyl; tert.butyl; tert.pentyl; mono-, di- or tri-hydroxy-substituted branched alkyl of 3 to 5 carbon atoms; cyclohexyl; or hydroxycyclohexyl; and
- R.sub.3 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or, when R.sub.2 is other than cyclohexyl, also hydrogen; or a non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
