Claims
- 1. Pure enantiomeric forms, as well as enantiomeric mixtures wherein one enantiomer of 2-phenyl-1,2-ethanediol carbamate compounds represented by structural formula (I) predominates, wherein the phenyl ring is substituted with a chlorine atom at the ortho position and R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are both hydrogen ##STR10##
- 2. A pharmaceutical composition for treating disorders of the central nervous system which comprises as an active ingredient a central nervous system effective amount for treating disorders of the central nervous system of a compound of Formula (I) as defined in claim 1 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
- 3. Pure enantiomeric forms, as well as enantiomeric mixtures wherein one enantiomer of 2-phenyl-1,2-ethanediol carbamate compounds represented by structural formula (II) predominates, wherein the phenyl ring is substituted with a chlorine atom at the ortho position and R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are all hydrogen ##STR11##
- 4. A pharmaceutical composition for treating disorders of the central nervous system which comprises as an active ingredient a central nervous system effective amount for treating disorders of the central nervous system of a compound of Formula (II) was defined in claim 3 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
- 5. Pure enantiomeric forms, as well as enantiomeric mixtures wherein one enantiomer of 2-phenyl-1,2-ethanediol carbamate compounds represented by structural formula (I) predominates, wherein the phenyl ring is substituted with a chlorine atom at the ortho position, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are both hydrogen and said one enantiomer is present to the extent of 98% or greater ##STR12##
- 6. Pure enantiomeric forms, as well as enantiomeric mixtures wherein one enantiomer of 2-phenyl-1,2-ethanediol carbamate compounds represented by structural formula (II) predominates, wherein the phenyl ring is substituted with a chlorine atom at the ortho position, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are all hydrogen, and said one enantiomer is present to the extent of 98% of greater ##STR13##
