Claims
- 1. A method of combating unwanted vegetation which comprises applying to such vegetation or to a locus from which it is desired to exclude such vegetation a herbicidally effective amount of a halogenoalkoxyphenylsulphonylisothioureidoazine of the formula ##STR45## in which R.sup.1 represents difluoromethoxy or trifluoromethoxy,
- R.sup.2 represents hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -halogenoalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -halogenoalkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylthio, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -halogenoalkylthio, amino, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylamino or di-(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl)-amino,
- wherein
- R.sup.5 represents hydrogen, halogen, hydroxyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylthio, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylamino or di-(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl)-amino, and
- R.sup.3 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 -alkyl (which is optionally substituted by fluorine, chlorine, bromine, cyano, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, carboxyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxycarbonyl, aminocarbonyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylaminocarbonyl or di-(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl)-amino-carbonyl), or represents C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 -alkenyl (which is optionally substituted by fluorine, chlorine and/or bromine) or C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 -alkinyl, or represents phenyl-C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkyl (which is optionally substituted in the phenyl part by fluorine, chlorine, bromine, nitro, cyano, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxycarbonyl).
- 2. The method according to claim 1, in which
- R.sup.2 represents hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, trifluoromethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, difluoromethoxy, methylthio, ethylthio, amino, methylamino, ethylamino, dimethylamino or diethylamino,, and
- R.sup.5 represents hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, propoxy, isopropoxy, methylthio, ethylthio, methylamino, ethylamino, dimethylamino or diethylamino, and
- R.sup.3 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl (which is optionally substituted by fluorine, chlorine, bromine, cyano, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkoxy, carboxyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkoxycarbonyl, aminocarbonyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkylamino-carbonyl or di-(C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkyl)-amino-carbonyl) or represents C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 -alkenyl (which is optionally substituted by fluorine, chlorine and/or bromine) or C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 -alkinyl, or represents benzyl or phenethyl (which are optionally substituted in the phenyl part by fluorine, chlorine, bromine, nitro, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkoxy or C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkoxycarbonyl).
- 3. The method according to claim 1, in which
- R.sup.2 represents hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, trifluoromethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, difluoromethoxy, methylthio, ethylthio, amino, methylamino, ethylamino, dimethylamino or diethylamino, and
- R.sup.5 represents hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, ethyl, methoxy, ethoxy, propoxy, isopropoxy, methylthio, ethylthio, methylamino, ethylamino, dimethylamino or diethylamino, and
- R.sup.3 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkoxycarbonyl-methyl or benzyl.
- 4. The method according to claim 3, in which R.sup.1 represents trifluoromethoxy.
- 5. The method according to claim 1, wherein such compound is N'-(4-methoxy-6-methyl-triazin-2-yl)-N"-(2-trifluoromethoxy-benzenesulphonyl)-S-methyl-isothiourea of the formula ##STR46##
- 6. The method according to claim 1, wherein such compound is N'-(4-ethoxy-6-methyl-triazin-2-yl)-N"-(2-trifluoromethoxy-benzenesulphonyl)-S-methyl-isothiourea of the formula ##STR47##
