Claims
- 1. A portable data processing device, comprising:
- input means for inputting numeric and alphabetic data, wherein said input means further comprises a plurality of alphanumeric keys for manually inputting numeric and alphabetic data and a decimal point key for inputting decimal point data associated with said numeric data;
- a mode key for changing operation of the processing device;
- a reading key, separate from a mode key, for selectively reading out either numerical or alphabetic data;
- memory means for storing said numeric and alphabetic data inputted through said input means;
- data processing means for performing numerical calculations and processing alphabetic data, said data processing means including a calculation mode for performing calculations and memorandum pad mode for storing data in said memory means for reading data stored in said memory means;
- actuation means separate from a mode key for selectively changing said data processing means from said calculation mode to said memorandum pad mode upon direct actuation of said reading key means;
- display means for displaying said alphabetic and numeric data stored in said memory means, wherein said display means further comprises decimal point display means responsive to said decimal point key for displaying decimal point data associated with said numeric data;
- means for displaying a cursor; and
- means for displaying a decimal point at the left side of the cursor when a decimal point is inputted.
- 2. A portable data processing device, comprising:
- input means for inputting numeric and alphabetic data, wherein said input means further comprises a plurality of alphanumeric keys for manually inputting numeric and alphabetic data and a decimal point key for inputting decimal point data associated with said numeric data;
- a mode key for changing operations of the processing device;
- a reading key, separate from a mode key, for selectively reading out either numerical or alphabetic data;
- memory means for storing said numeric and alphabetic data inputted through said input means;
- data processing means for performing numerical calculations and processing alphabetic data, said data processing means including a calculation mode for performing calculations and memorandum pad mode for storing data in said memory means for reading data stored in said memory means;
- actuation means separate from a mode key for selectively changing said data processing means from said calculation mode to said memorandum pad mode upon direct actuation of said reading key means;
- display for displaying said alphabetic and numeric data stored in said memory means, wherein said display means further comprises decimal point display means responsive to said decimal point key for displaying decimal point data associated with said numeric data;
- display means for displaying the decimal point when said decimal point input key is depressed a first time; and
- means for removing the decimal point when said decimal point key is depressed a second time.
- 3. A portable data processing device, comprising:
- input means for inputting numeric and alphabetic data, wherein said input means further comprises a plurality of alphanumeric keys for manually inputting numeric and alphabetic data and a decimal point key for inputting decimal point data associated with said numeric data;
- a mode key for changing operations of the processing device;
- a reading key, separate from a mode key, for selectively reading out either numerical or alphabetic data;
- memory means for storing said numeric and alphabetic data inputted through said input means;
- data processing means for performing numerical calculations and processing alphabetic data, said data processing means including a calculation mode for performing calculations and memorandum pad mode for storing data in said memory means for reading data stored in said memory means;
- actuation means separate from a mode key for selectively changing said data processing means from said calculation mode to said memorandum pad mode upon direct actuation of said reading key means;
- display means for displaying said alphabetic and numeric data stored in said memory means, wherein said display means further comprises decimal point display means responsive to said decimal point key for displaying decimal point data associated with said numeric data;
- display means for displaying the decimal point when said decimal point input key is depressed a first time; and
- means for removing the already displayed decimal point when another decimal point is input at a different position.
- 4. A portable data processing device, comprising:
- input means for inputting numeric and alphabetic data, wherein said input means further comprises a plurality of alphanumeric keys for manually inputting numeric and alphabetic data and a decimal point key for inputting decimal point data associated with said numeric data;
- a mode key for changing operations of the processing device;
- a reading key, separate from a mode key, for selectively reading out either numerical or alphabetic data;
- memory means for storing said numeric and alphabetic data inputted through said input means;
- data processing means for performing numerical calculations and processing alphabetic data, said data processing means including a calculation mode for performing calculations and memorandum pad mode for storing data in said memory means for reading data stored in said memory means;
- actuation means separate from a mode key, for selectively changing said data processing means from said calculation mode to said memorandum pad mode upon direct actuation of said reading key means;
- display means for displaying said alphabetic and numeric data stored in said memory means, wherein said display means further comprises decimal point display means responsive to said decimal point key for displaying decimal point data associated with said numeric data;
- display means for displaying the decimal point when said decimal point input key is depressed a first time; and
- means for removing the already displayed decimal point when a numeric data is corrected.
- 5. A portable data processing device, comprising:
- input means for inputting numeric and alphabetic data, wherein said input means further comprises a plurality of alphanumeric keys for manually inputting numeric and alphabetic data, and a decimal point key for inputting decimal point data associated with said numeric data;
- a mode key for changing operations of the processing device;
- a reading key, separate from a mode key, for selectively reading out either numerical or alphabetic data;
- memory means for storing said numeric and alphabetic data inputted through said input means;
- data processing means for performing numerical calculations and processing alphabetic data, said data processing means including a calculation mode for performing calculations and memorandum pad mode for storing data in said memory means for reading data stored in said memory means;
- actuation means separate from a mode key, for selectively changing said data processing means from said calculation mode to said memorandum pad mode upon direct actuation of said reasoning key means;
- display means for displaying said alphabetic and numeric data stored in said memory means, wherein said display means further comprises decimal point display means responsive to said decimal point key for displaying decimal point data associated with said numeric data;
- means for displaying a cursor on the display means; and
- means for moving the cursor by one figure when a character mode is changed.
- 6. A decimal point display device for use in an electronic apparatus, comprising:
- numerical information input means having ten input keys for inputting at least numerical and a decimal point key for inputting a decimal point; and
- display means including a numerical display segment of plural figures each one of said plural figures including seven segments having a shape of data character for displaying the numerical information inputted by the input means, and a decimal point display segment for displaying a decimal point between each of the plural figures;
- the display means displaying sequentially in the order of inputting from a left side the information inputted by the input means and a cursor for showing a position displaying the numerical information inputted and displaying a decimal point in the decimal point segment at a left side and directly next to the cursor displayed, so that the decimal point can be deleted only by actuation of said decimal point key to thereby facilitate such deletion.
- 7. A decimal point input amending device for use in an electronic apparatus, comprising:
- numerical information input means having ten input keys for inputting at least numerals and a decimal point key for inputting a decimal point;
- display means for displaying the numerical information inputted by the input means;
- decimal point presence memory means for storing the presence of a decimal point;
- decimal point lighting control means for controlling the lighting of a decimal point on the basis of memory of the decimal point presence in the memory means;
- detect means for detecting an actuated state of inputting a decimal point by the operation of the decimal point key of the input means; and
- means for reversing contents of said decimal point presence memory means upon every output of the detect means, so that decimal point is deleted from said decimal point presence memory means.
- 8. A display position changing device for use in an electronic apparatus, comprising:
- numerical information input means having ten input keys for inputting at least numerals and a decimal point key for inputting a decimal point;
- display means for displaying the numerical information inputted by the input means;
- decimal point position memory means for storing the display position of a decimal point;
- decimal point lighting control means for displaying a decimal point at the given position on the basis of memory the memory means;
- detect means for detecting an actuated state of inputting a decimal point by the operation of the decimal point key of the input means; and
- means for renewing a display position of a decimal point in said decimal point position memory means, so that a present position of a decimal point is changed.
- 9. A numerical amending device for use in an electronic apparatus, comprising:
- numerical information input means having ten input keys for inputting at least numerals and a decimal point key for inputting a decimal point;
- an amend key for amending the numerical information inputted by the input means;
- detect means for detecting the operations of the amend key;
- display means for displaying the numerical information inputted by the input means;
- decimal point presence memory means for storing the presence of decimal point; and
- a decimal point lighting control means for controlling the lighting of a decimal point on the basis of contents of the memory means;
- the output of the detecting means being employed to reset the memory means for cleaning an input of a decimal point.
- 10. A numeral amending device for use in an electronic apparatus, comprising:
- numerical information input means having ten input keys for inputting at least numerals and a decimal key for inputting a decimal point;
- an amend key for amending the numerical information inputted by the input means;
- detect means for detecting the operation of the amend key;
- display means for displaying the numerical information inputted by the input means;
- decimal point position memory means for storing the display position of a decimal point; and
- decimal point lighting control means for controlling the lighting of a decimal point on the basis of contents of the memory means;
- the output of the detecting means being employed to reset the memory means for clearing an input of a decimal point.
