Claims
- 1. A reel comprising a pair of spaced apart hub members mounted for rotation about a common axis and adapted to project into opposite ends of a central hole in a roll, a pair of discs adjacent the respective hub members, each disc having a continuous outer periphery, a first generally central hole and a larger second hole opening into the first hole, the second hole being larger in size than the exterior of the related hub member, each disc having a greater radial extent than the related hub member, means received in the first hole for mounting the respective disc, means defining a gap at the opening between the first and second holes of each which is less than the outside dimension of the related mounting means, the discs being capable of being installed by passing the hub member through the respective second hole and thereupon shifting the disc so that the disc is snapped onto the respective mounting means.
- 2. A reel comprising a pair of spaced apart hub members mounted for rotation about a common axis and adapted to project into opposite ends of a central hole in a roll, at least one disc adjacent one of the hub members, the disc having a continuous outer periphery, a first generally central hole and a larger second hole opening into the first hole, the second hole being larger in size than the exterior of the related hub member, the disc having a greater radial extent than the related hub member, means received in the first hole for mounting the disc, means defining a gap at the opening between the first and second holes of each disc which is less than the outside dimension of the related mounting means, the disc being capable of being installed by passing the hub member through the respective second hole and thereupon shifting the disc so that the disc is snapped onto the respective mounting means.
- 3. A reel as defined in claim 2, wherein the disc is composed of flexible transparent plastics material.
- 4. A reel as defined in claim 2, wherein the first hole is generally circular and extends for more than 180 degrees but substantially less than 360.degree., wherein there is a disc adjacent both hub members, wherein the discs are identical, wherein both discs are of uniform thickness.
