Claims
- 1. A hand pressure abatement apparatus usable on a power tool, said hand pressure abatement apparatus comprising:
a hand pressure abatement pad adapted for placement on a power tool surface so that during operation of said power tool, said hand pressure abatement pad is established between said power tool surface and at least a portion of a power tool operator's hand; and a user engageable, user disengageable retention element to which said hand pressure abatement pad is responsive and that enables disengageable retention of said hand pressure abatement pad on said power tool surface during operation of said power tool.
- 2. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 1 wherein said user engageable, user disengageable retention element comprises an elastic user engageable, user disengageable retention element.
- 3. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 1 wherein said hand pressure abatement pad comprises an elastic hand pressure abatement pad.
- 4. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 1 wherein said user engageable, user disengageable retention element comprises a retention band adapted to retentively surround a part of said power tool.
- 5. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 4 wherein said retention band comprises continuous, retention band.
- 6. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 5 wherein said continuous, retention band comprises an elastic, continuous, retention band.
- 7. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 6 further comprising a retention band retention element that is operable to retain said retention band in a preferred retention position during tool operation.
- 8. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 7 wherein said power tool is a power tool selected from the group of power tools consisting of: circular saw and reciprocating saw.
- 9. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 5 wherein said power tool is a power tool selected from the group of power tools consisting of: power drill, air hammer, and air nail gun.
- 10. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 4 wherein said retention band comprises discontinuous, retention band.
- 11. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 10 wherein said discontinuous, retention band comprises a retention band attachment element that is operable to enable said retention band to retentively surround a part of said power tool.
- 12. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 10 wherein at least part of said discontinuous, retention band is elastic.
- 13. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 10 or 12 wherein at least part of said discontinuous, retention band is Velcro.
- 14. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 1 wherein said hand pressure abatement pad comprises part of said user engageable, user disengageable retention element.
- 15. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 1 wherein said hand pressure abatement apparatus is automatically reconfigurable to a substantially planar shape upon removal from said power tool.
- 16. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 4 wherein said hand pressure abatement apparatus is automatically reconfigurable to a substantially planar shape upon removal from said power tool.
- 17. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 16 wherein said substantially planar shape exhibits an arc-shaped opening that establishes said retention band.
- 18. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 17 wherein said arc-shaped opening comprises a closed arc-shaped opening.
- 19. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 17 wherein said arc-shaped opening comprises an open arc-shaped opening.
- 20. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 18 or 19 wherein said arc-shaped opening is of varying width along its arc length.
- 21. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 20 wherein termina of said arc-shaped opening have tear drop shapes.
- 22. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 4 wherein said retention band is adapted to retentively surround a power tool body portion located aft of a power tool hand grip.
- 23. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 1 wherein said power tool is a cordless power tool.
- 24. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 1 or 23 wherein said power tool is a power drill.
- 25. A hand pressure abatement apparatus as described in claim 1 wherein said power tool has a rear protruding section.
- 26. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method comprising the steps of:
creating a hand pressure abatement pad usable to abate pressure received by a power tool operator's hand; adapting said hand pressure abatement pad for placement on a power tool surface so that during operation of said power tool, said hand pressure abatement pad is established between said power tool surface and at least a portion of said power tool operator's hand; establishing a user engageable, user disengageable retention element to which said hand pressure abatement pad is responsive; and enabling disengageable retention of said hand pressure abatement pad on said power tool surface through the use of said user engageable, user disengageable retention element.
- 27. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 26 wherein said step of establishing a user engageable, user disengageable retention element comprises the step of establishing an elastic, user engageable, user disengageable retention element.
- 28. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 26 wherein said step of creating a hand pressure abatement pad comprises the step of creating an elastic hand pressure abatement pad.
- 29. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 26 wherein said step of establishing a user engageable, user disengageable retention element comprises the step of establishing a retention band and adapting said retention band to retentively surround a part of said power tool.
- 30. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 29 wherein said step of establishing a retention band comprises the step of establishing a continuous, retention band.
- 31. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 30 wherein said step of establishing a continuous, retention band comprises the step of establishing an elastic, continuous, retention band and wherein said step of adapting said retention band to retentively surround a part of said power tool comprises the step of adapting said elastic, continuous retention band to retentively surround said power tool.
- 32. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 31 further comprising the step of creating a retention band retention element that is operable to retain said retention band in a preferred retention position during tool operation.
- 33. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 32 wherein said step of creating a hand pressure abatement pad usable to abate pressure felt by an operator of a power tool comprises the step of creating a hand pressure abatement pad usable to abate pressure felt by an operator of a power tool selected from the group of power tools consisting of: circular saw and reciprocating saw.
- 34. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 30 wherein said step of creating a hand pressure abatement pad usable to abate pressure felt by an operator of a power tool comprises the step of creating a hand pressure abatement pad usable to abate pressure felt by an operator of a power tool selected from the group of power tools consisting of: power drill, air hammer, and air nail gun.
- 35. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 29 wherein said step of establishing a retention band comprises the step of establishing a discontinuous, retention band.
- 36. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 35 wherein said step of establishing a discontinuous, retention band comprises the step of establishing a retention band attachment element that is operable to enable said retention band to retentively surround said power tool.
- 37. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 35 wherein said step of establishing a discontinuous, retention band comprises the step of establishing a discontinuous, retention band that is at least part elastic.
- 38. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 35 or claim 34 wherein said step of establishing a discontinuous, retention band comprises the step of establishing a discontinuous, retention band that is at least part Velcro.
- 39. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 26 wherein said step of establishing a hand pressure abatement pad comprises part of said step of establishing a user engageable, user disengageable retention element.
- 40. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 26 wherein said step of creating a hand pressure abatement pad comprises the step of creating a hand pressure abatement pad that, upon user disengagement of said user engageable, user disengageable retention element, automatically reconfigures so as to lie in substantially the same plane as that plane into which said user engageable, user disengageable retention element lies upon user disengagement of said user engageable, user disengageable retention element.
- 41. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 29 wherein said step of creating a hand pressure abatement pad comprises the step of creating a hand pressure abatement pad that, upon user disengagement of said user engageable, user disengageable retention element and removal of said hand pressure abatement pad from said power tool surface, automatically reconfigures so as to lie in substantially the same plane as that plane into which said user engageable, user disengageable retention element reconfigures upon user disengagement of said user engageable, user disengageable retention element.
- 42. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 41 wherein said step of adapting said retention band to retentively surround said power tool comprises the step of establishing an arc-shaped opening.
- 43. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 42 wherein said step of establishing an arc-shaped opening comprises the step of establishing a closed arc-shaped opening.
- 44. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 42 wherein said step of establishing an arc-shaped opening comprises the step of establishing an open arc-shaped opening.
- 45. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 43 or claim 43 wherein said step of establishing an arc-shaped opening comprises the step of establishing an arc-shaped opening that is of varying width along its arc length.
- 46. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 45 wherein said step of establishing an arc-shaped opening that is of varying width along its arc length comprises the step of establishing an arc shaped opening whose termina have tear drop shapes.
- 47. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 29 wherein said step of adapting said retention band to retentively surround said part of a power tool comprises the step of adapting said retention band to retentively surround a power tool body portion located aft of a power tool hand grip.
- 48. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 26 wherein said step of adapting said hand pressure abatement pad for placement on a power tool surface comprises the step of adapting said hand pressure abatement pad for placement on a cordless power tool surface.
- 49. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 26 or 48 wherein said step of adapting said hand pressure abatement pad for placement on a power tool surface comprises the step of adapting said hand pressure abatement pad for placement on a power drill surface.
- 50. A power tool operator hand pressure abatement method as described in claim 26 wherein said power tool has a rear protruding section.
