HANGABLE BASKET

Abstract

A hangable basket for organizing items, such as dirty laundry at home. The hangable basket includes a basket and a hanger, wherein the basket is mounted to the hanger along a peripheral portion of an open top of the basket. The peripheral portion includes loops or a sleeve, and the hanger includes a pair of curved arms, wherein the pair of curved arms are secured within the loops.

Description

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention relates to a basket, and more particularly, the present invention relates to a hangable basket for clothes and the like items.

BACKGROUND

It is a common challenge in homes everywhere: clothes piling up in different corners, creating an ongoing battle for individuals and families. Dealing with the never-ending accumulation of clean and dirty laundry can be overwhelming. Laundry baskets are quite popular for keeping clothes organized in one place. However, placing the laundry baskets itself is a challenge. Many homes lack a suitable place to keep the laundry basket. As a result, the laundry baskets have to be placed somewhere that is not readily accessible for putting the clothes in the laundry basket.

Thus, a need is appreciated for a laundry basket that overcomes the limitations and drawbacks of conventional laundry baskets.

The following presents a simplified summary of one or more embodiments of the present invention in order to provide a basic understanding of such embodiments. The principal object of the present invention is therefore directed to a hangable basket that can be hung to a supporting structure.

It is another object of the present invention that the hangable basket can be used to keep clothes, dirty laundry, and the like items.

It is still another object of the present invention that the hangable basket can be adapted for different supporting structures.

It is yet another object of the present invention that the hangable basket is economical to manufacture.

It is a further object of the present invention that a basket of hangable basket is flexible.

It is an additional object of the present invention that the hangable basket allows good aeration within its interior volume.

It is still an additional object of the present invention that the opening of the basket remains wide open for easy access and retrieval of clothes from the hangable basket.

In one aspect, disclosed is a hangable basket and a method of use thereof. The hangable basket includes a basket having a base and a wall defining the interior volume of the basket, the basket has an open top, a plurality of loops disposed along the periphery of the open top; and a hanger comprising a neck, a pair of curved arms that extend from the neck, and a hook that extends upwards from a top of the neck. The hook is rotatably coupled to the neck. Each of the pair of curved arms comprises a curved portion that extends from the neck and curves downwards and a straight portion that extends from the curved portion. The straight portions of the pair of curved arms are inserted within the plurality of loops of the basket. The basket is made of mesh material.

The following detailed description includes the best currently contemplated mode or modes of carrying out exemplary embodiments of the invention. Disclosed is a hangable basket that can be mounted to any supporting structure, such as hooks, pipes, and the like. The disclosed hangable basket solves the very common problem in homes and commercial places to keep items in an organized manner, in particular, the dirty laundry before washing the same. The hangable basket is particularly advantageous in that it can be hung to any supporting structure, thus, not occupying any floor area. The disclosed hangable basket can be easily used in rooms having lesser space.

Referring to FIGS. 1-5 which show different views of an exemplary embodiment of disclosed hangable basket. The hangable basket 100 includes a basket 110 and a hanger 120. The basket is shown as cylindrical in shape; however, the basket of any other shape is within the scope of the present invention. For example, the basket can be rectangular in shape. The basket can have a base and a wall that define the interior volume of the basket. The top of the basket is open for gaining access to the interior volume of the basket. Clothes can be placed into the basket and taken out from the basket through the open top. The size of the basket can vary depending on the requirement and any size basket is within the scope of the present invention. Preferably, the length of the basket can be increased while keeping the width constant for increasing the size of the basket. The basket can be made from fabric material that offers both durability and flexibility. The fabric can be natural, synthetic, or semisynthetic. Similarly, the fabric can be knitted or woven. Preferably, the fabric may be meshed or have holes for the air to pass through. Along the periphery of the open top of the basket can be provided a sleeve. The sleeve can have openings as described below. Instead of the sleeves, loops 130 can also be provided along the periphery of the open top and the loops can be regularly spaced apart from each other.

The hangable basket further includes a hanger 120. The hanger has curved arms 160 that extends from a neck 1401 of the hanger. An upstanding hook 150 extends from a top of the neck, wherein the hook allows the disclosed hangable basket to be hanged from a supporting structure. Preferably, the hook can be rotatably coupled to the neck which allows the basket to be rotated relative to the hook.

The two curved arms extend sidewards and downwards from the neck in opposite directions. The two arms can be inserted into the sleeve or loops along the open top periphery of the basket. Thus, the basket can be mounted to the hanger through loops or sleeves, without blocking the access through the open top of the basket. This allows the clothes to be easily put into the basket and taken out from the basket. Also, the weight of the basket may be broadly distributed on an elongated section of the periphery of the basket. The hanger can be made from wooden, plastic, or metal materials.

In use, the disclosed hangable basket can be hung at any suitable supporting structure, Such as in the wall, closet, and the like. The hook of the hanger can be mounted to a nail, bracket, wall hook, pipe, and the like supporting structure. The hanger can swirl to hang anywhere easily. Moreover, the hanger can be removed from the basket for washing the basket easily, such as in a washing machine.

The end of the hangers overlaps with the loops, so it does not slip out easily. The removable hangers allow the basket to be replaced if required, such as replacing the damaged basket. It is to be noted that the term basket includes a bag or a sac, and can be made to be rigid, pliable, or flexible. Moreover, the hangable basket can be customizable and can be manufactured in various shapes, colors, sizes, and materials.

While the foregoing written description of the invention enables one of ordinary skill to make and use what is considered presently to be the best mode thereof, those of ordinary skill will understand and appreciate the existence of variations, combinations, and equivalents of the specific embodiment, method, and examples herein. The invention should therefore not be limited by the above-described embodiment, method, and examples, but by all embodiments and methods within the scope and spirit of the invention as claimed.

Claims

1. A hangable basket comprising: a basket having a base and a wall defining an interior volume of the basket, the basket has an open top, a plurality of loops disposed along a periphery of the open top; anda hanger comprising a neck, a pair of curved arms that extend from the neck, and a hook that extends upwards from a top of the neck.

2. The hangable basket of claim 1, wherein the hook is rotatably coupled to the neck.

3. The hangable basket of claim 1, wherein each of the pair of curved arms comprises a curved portion that extends from the neck and curves downwards, and a straight portion that extends from the curved portion.

4. The hangable basket of claim 3, wherein the straight portions of the pair of curved arms are inserted within the plurality of loops of the basket.

5. The hangable basket of claim 1, wherein the basket is made of mesh material.

6. A method for organizing dirty laundry, the method comprising: providing a basket having a base and wall defining an interior volume of the basket, the basket has an open top;coupling a plurality of loops along a periphery of the open top of the basket;providing a hanger comprising a neck, a pair of curved arms that extend from the neck, and a hook that extends upwards from a top of the neck; andinserting the pair of curved arms into the plurality of loops for mounting the basket to the hanger.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the hook is rotatably coupled to the neck.

8. The method of claim 6, wherein each of the pair of curved arms comprises a curved portion that extends from the neck and curves downwards and a straight portion that extends from the curved portion.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the straight portions of the pair of curved arms are inserted within the plurality of loops of the basket.

10. The method of claim 1, wherein the basket is made of mesh material. The method of claim 6, wherein the plurality of loops together forms a sleeve that runs around the periphery and has two openings for respectively receiving the pair of curved arms.
