Hangers for clothing have been known for many years. Many innovations for hangers for clothing have been disclosed in the prior art patent literature.
For example, WO2019242548 discloses a clothes hanger including a main body and two clothes supporting arms. The clothes supporting arm is rotatably disposed on the main body. The clothes hanger further includes a limiting member and a pressing member. A corresponding space is provided between the limiting member and the clothes supporting arm. The limiting structure enables the clothes supporting arm to be opened, and the pressing member can move the limiting member to cancel the restriction on the clothes supporting arm and close the clothes supporting arm.
U.S. Pat. No. 9,447,914 discloses a hanger for hanging an object from a generally vertical support rod includes a hanger body, a first set of one or more hooks on the hanger body defining a first hook-defined recess, and a second set of one or more hooks on the hanger body defining a second hook-defined recess. The first and second hook-defined recesses have different transverse dimensions for receiving support rods having respective first and second different diameters.
Nonetheless, prior art hangers are not suitable for hanging, storing, and/or drying all types of garments, and improved hangers are desirable for many types of garments which are not suitable for conventional hangers like sports jerseys, coats, and kimonos.
Therefore, the present invention provides a hanger which is useful for hanging and drying a variety of garments for which conventional hangers are suboptimal.
According to an aspect of the present invention, there is a hanger, comprising: a hook attached to a hanger base at a top; a hanger base extending outward from the hook; an adjustable piece attached to a first side of the hanger base and attached to a second side of the hanger base, wherein: the adjustable piece is configured to be adjustable between a closed position parallel to the plane of the hanger base and an open position perpendicular to the plane of the hanger base.
In
A hook is attached to a hanger base of the hanger at a top. The hook is intended to allow for the hanger to store clothes or dry clothes. I believe the hook is intended to suspend the other components of the hanger along with the garment. Also, to be optimized for both closet and door frames.
In a first preferred embodiment, there is a single adjustable piece attached to both sides of the hanger base.
The adjustable piece is configured to be adjustable between a closed position parallel to the plane of the hanger base and an open position perpendicular to the plane of the hanger base on the first side of the hanger base. The adjustable piece is also configured to be adjustable between a closed position parallel to the plane of the hanger base and an open position perpendicular to the plane of the hanger base on the second side of the hanger base.
The adjustable piece can be configured to be adjustable by snapping into the closed position and the open position, for example if the parts are manufactured in shapes and materials that are conducive to snapping.
The adjustable piece can also be configured to be adjustable by rotating attached to the hanger base. For example, there could be a lock, and the weight of the clothes themselves can rotate the hanger base. The weight of the clothes themselves can keep the hanger in the correct position.
The hanger according to the present invention consists of 4 parts.
The first part is detachable hammerhead hook which inserts into an opening at the top of a central base.
The second part is a central base extending outward from the hook, which could be in a straight triangle or curved elliptical fashion.
The third part is a rod connecting two sides of the central base and inserting into openings thereon.
The fourth part is an adjustable piece attached to the first side of the hanger base and attached to the second side of the hanger base.

This disclosure is intended to cover any and all adaptations or variations of various embodiments. Combinations of the above embodiments, and other embodiments not specifically described herein, will be apparent to those of skill in the art upon reviewing the above description. Therefore, it is intended that the disclosure not be limited to the particular embodiment(s) disclosed.
In particular, there are a variety of other manners in which the adjustable piece can be configured to switch between closed position parallel to the plane of the hanger base and an open position perpendicular to the plane of the hanger base. The present disclosure does not intend to limit the manners in which the switching may be accomplished.
