Abstract
A hanging collapsible chair set may include a rack and a collapsible chair, wherein the collapsible chair can be hung on the rack. The collapsible chair has a main body, a seating unit, a plurality of supporting frames and a plurality of connecting units. In one embodiment, each supporting frame is curved with two ends, and each end is pivotally connected with the main body of the collapsible chair. The seating unit is also pivotally connected with the main body. The connecting units are configured to flexibly connect the seating unit with one of the supporting frames, two of the supporting frames, and one of the supporting frames with the main body. In one embodiment, the connecting unit can be a string.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates a hanging chair, and more particular to a hanging collapsible chair, the size of which can be significantly minimized when not in use.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Conventionally, the structure of furniture may be rigid so the size thereof cannot be easily minimized. If the furniture is structurally rigid, one has to evaluate the size of the room and make an area especially for the furniture before purchasing it. In such a case, when the furniture is not in use, the user may have to get rid of it or find another space to dispose the furniture because it may occupy too much space in the room.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

In one aspect, a hanging collapsible chair set may include a rack and a collapsible chair, wherein the collapsible chair can be hung on the rack with a supporting unit. One end of the supporting unit is fixed at the top portion of the rack, and the other end is detachably connected with the top portion of the chair.

The collapsible chair has a main body, a seating unit, a plurality of supporting frames and a plurality of connecting units. In one embodiment, each supporting frame is curved with two ends, and each end is pivotally connected with the main body of the collapsible chair. The seating unit is also pivotally connected with a lower portion of the main body.

The connecting units are configured to flexibly connect the seating unit with one of the supporting frames, two of the supporting frames, and one of the supporting frames with a top portion of the main body. In one embodiment, the connecting unit can be made by soft materials such as a string.

When the chair is in use or in its extended configuration, it has to be hung on the rack with the supporting unit, so the collapsible chair can be fully extended due to the existence of gravity, and the rack and the supporting unit collectively sustain the weight of the entire chair.

When the chair is not in use or in its collapsed configuration, it may have to be taken down from the rack. The chair may not totally collapse because it is supported by a wall or door when it is leaned on the wall/door. However, when the chair is moved away from the door, the chair immediately collapses because the seating unit and the supporting frames are pivotally connected with the main body of the chair. Moreover, the connecting units, which is made by soft materials, are used to connect the seating unit with one of the supporting frames, two of the supporting frames, and one of the supporting frames with the main body, so when the chair is disposed on the ground, the chair collapses immediately because the connecting units are too weak to sustain the weight of the chair and the size of the chair can be minimized because of the pivotal connections between the seating unit and supporting frames with the main body.

The publications listed or discussed above, below and throughout the text are provided solely for their disclosure prior to the filing date of the present application. Nothing herein is to be construed as an admission that the inventors are not entitled to antedate such disclosure by virtue of prior invention.

As used in the description herein and throughout the claims that follow, the meaning of “a”, “an”, and “the” includes reference to the plural unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Also, as used in the description herein and throughout the claims that follow, the terms “comprise or comprising”, “include or including”, “have or having”, “contain or containing” and the like are to be understood to be open-ended, i.e., to mean including but not limited to. As used in the description herein and throughout the claims that follow, the meaning of “in” includes “in” and “on” unless the context clearly dictates otherwise.

It will be understood that, although the terms first, second, etc. may be used herein to describe various elements, these elements should not be limited by these terms. These terms are only used to distinguish one element from another. For example, a first element could be termed a second element, and, similarly, a second element could be termed a first element, without departing from the scope of the embodiments. As used herein, the term “and/or” includes any and all combinations of one or more of the associated listed items.

In one aspect, referring to FIGS. 1 to 5, a hanging collapsible chair set 100 may include a rack 110 and a collapsible chair 120, wherein the collapsible chair 120 can be hung on the rack 110 with a supporting unit 111 as shown in FIG. 1. One end of the supporting unit is fixed at the top portion of the rack 110, and the other end is detachably connected with the top portion of the chair 120.

The collapsible chair 120 has a main body 121, a seating unit 122, a plurality of supporting frames 123 and a plurality of connecting units 124. In one embodiment, each supporting frame 123 is curved with two ends, and each end is pivotally connected with the main body 121 of the collapsible chair 120. The seating unit 122 is also pivotally connected with a lower portion of the main body 121.

The connecting units 124 are configured to flexibly connect the seating unit 122 with one of the supporting frames 123, two of the supporting frames 123, and one of the supporting frames 123 with a top portion of the main body 121. In one embodiment, the connecting unit can be made by soft materials such as a string.

When the chair 120 is in use or in its extended configuration, it has to be hung on the rack 110 with the supporting unit 111 as shown in FIG. 1, so the collapsible chair 120 can be fully extended due to the existence of gravity, and the rack 110 and the supporting unit 111 collectively sustain the weight of the entire chair 120.

When the chair 120 is not in use or in its collapsed configuration, it may have to be taken down from the rack 110. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the chair 120 is not totally collapsed because it is supported by the wall (FIG. 2) or door (FIG. 3) when it is leaned on the wall/door. However, when the chair 120 is moved away from the door, the chair 120 immediately collapses because the seating unit 122 and the supporting frames are pivotally connected with the main body 121 of the chair 120. Moreover, the connecting units 124, which is made by soft materials, are used to connect the seating unit 122 with one of the supporting frames 123, two of the supporting frames 123, and one of the supporting frames 123 with the main body 121, so when the chair 120 is disposed on the ground, the chair 120 collapses immediately because the connecting units 124 are too weak to sustain the weight of the chair 120 and the size of the chair 120 can be minimized because of the pivotal connections between the seating unit 122 and supporting frames 123 with the main body 121.

Having described the invention by the description and illustrations above, it should be understood that these are exemplary of the invention and are not to be considered as limiting. Accordingly, the invention is not to be considered as limited by the foregoing description, but includes any equivalent.
