Claims
- 1. A pre-moistened cleaning pad for cleaning a hard surface with minimal filming and streaking, said cleaning pad comprising;a wet cleaning pad comprising at least an absorbent layer wherein said absorbent layer has a basis weight of from about 100 grams to about 500 grams per square meter and wherein said cleaning pad is impregnated with a cleaning solution, wherein said cleaning solution comprises: a. an effective amount to reduce the contact angle between said hard surface and water, of an hydrophilic polymer that renders the treated surface hydrophilic; b. from about 0.005 to about 0.5% by weight of an alkyl polyglucoside surfactant; c. optionally, an effective amount to provide increased cleaning, of one, or more, organic cleaning solvents; d. optionally, an effective amount to improve cleaning and/or antimicrobial action, of water soluble mono- or polycarboxylic acid; e. optionally, an effective amount to provide bleaching, cleaning, and/or antibacterial action; h. optionally, from about 0.005% to about 1%, of a thickening polymer selected from the group consisting of polyacrylates, gums and mixtures thereof; i. optionally, an effective amount of perfume to provide odor effects and/or additional adjuvants; j. optionally, from about 0.0001% to about 0.1%, of suds suppressor; and the balance being water, wherein said composition has a pH between about 2 to about 12.
- 2. The pre-moistened cleaning pad of claim 1 wherein said cleaning pad is wetted with said composition at a level from about 1.5 gram per gram of the dry weight substrate to about 15 gram per gram of the dry weight substrate.
- 3. The pre-moistened cleaning pad of claim 2 further comprising a perfume, wherein said perfume is directly or indirectly applied to said cleaning pad, and suds suppressor wherein said suds suppressor is directly applied to said cleaning pad at a level of from about 0.001 grams to about 0.01 grams of suds suppressor per gram of dry substrate.
- 4. The pre-moistened cleaning pad of claim 2 wherein said cleaning pad has a total fluid capacity of less than about 100 g.
- 5. The pre-moistened cleansing pad of claim 2 wherein said absorbent layer is substantially made of cellulosic fibers.
- 6. The pre-moistened cleansing pad of claim 5 wherein said cleaning pad comprises a laminate structure comprising a floor sheet and an inner absorbent layer which functions as a liquid reservoir.
- 7. The pre-moistened cleansing pad of claim 5 wherein said cleaning pad comprises a protective back layer.
- 8. The pre-moistened cleaning pad of claim 1 wherein said cleaning pad is attached to a cleaning implement comprising a handle and a mop head.
- 9. The pre-moistened cleaning pad of claim 7 wherein said alkyl polyglucoside comprises from about 1.0 to about 1.5 saccharide moieties, said saccharide moieties having a mixture of chain lengths with at least about 50% of the mixture having from about 10 carbon atoms to about 16 carbon atoms.
- 10. The premoistened cleaning pad of claim 1 wherein said hydrophilic polymer is selected from the group consisting of polystyrene sulfonate, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, polyvinyl pyrrolidone acrylic acid copolymer, polyvinyl pyrrolidone acrylic acid copolymer sodium salt, polyvinyl pyrrolidone acrylic acid copolymer potassium salt, polyvinyl pyrrolidone- vinyl imidazoline, polyvinyl pyridine, polyvinyl pyridine n-oxide, and mixtures thereof.
- 11. The pre-moistened cleaning pad of claim 10 wherein said hydrophilic polymer is a polyvinyl pyridine n-oxide wherein said polyvinyl pyridine n-oxide has a molecular weight of from about 5,000 to about 200,000 and wherein from about 50% to about 90% of the monomeric units comprise an amine oxide group.
- 12. A method of cleaning a hard surface comprising:contacting said hard surface with a pre-moistened pad according to claim 7.
