Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to clothing, more specifically but not by way of limitation, a baseball hat wherein the baseball bat of the present invention includes a visor that is movable from a first position to a second position wherein in the second position the visor has been extended outward from the head portion of the baseball hat.

BACKGROUND

As is known in the art there are numerous different styles of hats that are worn by individuals for various reasons and while engaged in alternate types of activities. One type of hat that is the most popular is commonly referred to as a baseball cap or baseball hat. While the baseball cap is worn during the play of baseball by many individuals, the baseball cap is worn by many individuals during all types of outdoor activities that include but are not limited to golf, hiking and fishing. The structure of the baseball cap has gone larger unchanged for decades and includes a dome shaped head portion that has a visor integrally formed therewith.

The conventional visor extends outward from the dome shaped head portion wherein the visor is generally perpendicular to the base of the head portion. The visor extends generally about six inches outward from the head portion and is operable to provide shade and protection from the sun for the wearer's face. One issue with conventional baseball cap visors is that full protection or privacy of the face is not always achieved. Depending on the sun angle and other factors the wearer of the baseball cap may not have complete coverage and/or protection of the face, Conventional baseball cap visors have no technique to provide any adjustability thereof and as such the user is left with diminished protection and/or privacy.

Accordingly, there is a need for a baseball cap that includes a visor that is adjustable between a first position and a second position so as to provide alternate levels of protection for a wearer's face.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

It is the object of the present invention to provide a baseball cap that is configured to provide alternate levels of protection for a wearer's face wherein the present invention includes a dome shaped head portion.

Another object of the present invention is to provide a baseball cap operable to provide protection and/or privacy of a wearers face wherein the present invention includes a visor movably secured to the head portion.

A further object of the present invention is to provide a baseball cap that is configured to provide alternate levels of protection for a wearer's face wherein the visor of the present invention is configured to move between a first position and a second position.

Yet a further object of the present invention is to provide a baseball cap operable to provide protection and/or privacy of a wearers face wherein in the first position the rearward edge of the visor is adjacent the head portion.

Still another object of the present invention is to provide a baseball cap that is configured to provide alternate levels of protection for a wearer's face wherein in the second position of the visor the rearward edge of the visor has been extended outward away from the head portion.

An additional object of the present invention is to provide a baseball cap operable to provide protection and/or privacy of a wearers face wherein in its second position the visor extension member is exposed between the rearward edge of the visor and the head portion.

Yet a further object of the present invention is to provide a baseball cap that is configured to provide alternate levels of protection for a wearer's face wherein the visor is returned to its first portion utilizing a control mechanism that comprises a control knob and a control wire.

To the accomplishment of the above and related objects the present invention may be embodied in the form illustrated in the accompanying drawings. Attention is called to the fact that the drawings are illustrative only. Variations are contemplated as being a part of the present invention, limited only by the scope of the claims.
