Claims
- 1. A hearing aid enclosed in a gas-impermeable or substantially gas-impermeable package.
- 2. The hearing aid of claim 1, wherein the package is at least partially filled with an inert gas.
- 3. The hearing aid of claim 2, wherein the inert gas is nitrogen.
- 4. The hearing aid of claim 1, wherein a relative humidity of about 50% is maintained in the package.
- 5. The hearing aid of claim 1, wherein the package is gas-impermeable or substantially gas-impermeable to oxygen, carbon dioxide, and/or water vapor.
- 6. The hearing aid of claim 1, wherein the hearing aid is disposable.
- 7. The hearing aid of claim 1, wherein the hearing aid is insertable into an ear canal.
- 8. The hearing aid of claim 1, wherein the hearing aid includes a switch that shuts the hearing aid off in a first position and turns the hearing aid on in a second position.
- 9. A method of storing a hearing aid comprising sealing the hearing aid in a package that is gas-impermeable or substantially gas-impermeable.
- 10. The method of claim 9, wherein the package is at least partially filled with an inert gas.
- 11. The method of claim 10, wherein the inert gas is nitrogen.
- 12. The method of claim 9, wherein a relative humidity of about 50% is maintained in the package.
- 13. The method of claim 9, wherein the package is gas-impermeable or substantially gas-impermeable to oxygen, carbon dioxide, and/or water vapor.
- 14. A method of prolonging a storage life of a hearing aid comprising encasing the hearing aid in a package devoid or substantially devoid of detrimental gases.
- 15. The method of claim 14, wherein at least of one of the detrimental gases includes oxygen.
- 16. The method of claim 14, wherein at least one of the detrimental gases includes carbon dioxide.
- 17. The method of claim 14, wherein the package is at least partially filled with an inert gas.
- 18. The method of claim 17, wherein the inert gas is nitrogen.
- 19. The method of claim 14, wherein a relative humidity of about 50% is maintained in the package.
- 20. The method of claim 14, wherein the package is gas-impermeable or substantially gas-impermeable.
