Claims
- 1. A method of applying heat to a selected object, comprising the steps of:
- (a) forming a heatable pad having a liquid and a liquid absorbing means sealed within an envelope in which the absorbing means is compressed within the envelope to less than its non-compressed size;
- (b) heating the pad; and
- (c) placing the heated pad proximate said object to heat said object.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein heating the pad comprises placing the pad in a microwave oven.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein placing the pad in a microwave oven comprises placing the pad in a microwave oven for approximately five minutes.
- 4. The method of claim 1 and including the step of placing said heated pad inside a cover.
- 5. The method of claim 1 wherein forming a heatable pad comprises the steps of:
- (a) applying pressure to said envelope to compress the contents thereof; and
- (b) closing and sealing said envelope while said liquid absorbing means remains compressed.
- 6. The method of claim 5 wherein applying pressure to said envelope comprises applying a vacuum pressure of twenty-four inches of mercury to said envelope.
- 7. A method of heating a selected object, comprising the steps of:
- (a) forming a heatable pad having a liquid and a liquid absorbing means sealed within an envelope in which the absorbing means is compressed withing the envelope to less than its non-compressed size;
- (b) heating said pad; and
- (c) allowing the heated pad to heat the object.
- 8. The method of claim 7 and including the step of placing said heated pad inside a cover.
- 9. The method of claim 7 wherein forming a heatable pad comprises the steps of:
- (a) applying pressure to said envelope to compress the contents thereof; and
- (b) closing and sealing said envelope while said liquid absorbing means remains compressed.
- 10. The method of claim 9 wherein applying pressure to said envelope comprises applying a vacuum pressure of twenty-four inches of mercury to said envelope.
