Claims
- 1. A heat exchange apparatus comprising:
- a heat transfer member having a heat transfer surface;
- a rotatable disk facing the heat transfer surface of said heat transfer member;
- a center aperture defined in a central portion of the rotatable disk for permitting air flow therethrough;
- at least one projecting blade disposed on the rotatable disk and radially extending from said central aperture of said rotatable disk to an edge portion of said disk which defines an air flow output, wherein said at least one projecting blade has a substantially uniform width along the air flow and outwardly extends from said disk in a direction toward said heat transfer surface of the heat transfer member to define an edge portion such that the edge portion of said at least one projecting blade faces said heat transfer surface of the heat transfer member for defining a constant distance between the edge portion of said at least one projecting blade and the heat transfer surface of the heat transfer member which is smaller than a value which corresponds to a rising point where an upward gradient of convective heat transfer coefficients rise as the distance decreases; and
- means for rotating said rotatable disk such that the rotation of said rotatable disk and the at least one projecting blade disposed thereon causes an air flow through said aperture and produces centrifugal forces to cause the air to flow from said central aperture radially outward along the heat transfer surface to said edge portion of said disk; wherein:
- a leading edge of said edge portion of said at least one projecting blade is made of a wearable resin which contacts said heat transfer surface; and
- said rotation of said rotatable disk wears away said leading edge of said edge portion of said at least one projecting blade to form said constant distance between said edge portion of said at least one projecting blade and said heat transfer surface.
- 2. A heat exchange apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the distance between the edge portion of said at least one projecting blade and the heat transfer surface of the heat transfer member is 3 mm or less.
- 3. A heat exchange apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said heat transfer surface is flat.
- 4. A heat exchange apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said wearable resin is a fluorine containing resin.
