- 2. The heat exchanger of claim 1 wherein a plurality of coils shares the inter-tube space between each of said tubes.
- 3. The heat exchanger of claim 1 wherein the diameter of the wire forming each said support coil is essentially equal to an amount that is within the range between essentially being equal to one-half of the predetermined inter-tube spacing and essentially being equal to the predetermined inter-tube spacing and wherein said support coils partially overlap with each other.
- 4. The heat exchanger of claim 1 wherein the diameter of the wire forming each said support coil is essentially equal to an amount that is one-half of the predetermined inter-tube spacing and said support coils make point contact with each other.
- 5. The heat exchanger of claim 2 wherein each coil is wound in either a clockwise or counterclockwise orientation and each coil overlaps only with other coils that are wrapped in an orientation that is different from said each coil.
- 6. The heat exchanger of claim 3 wherein each coil is wound in either a clockwise or counterclockwise orientation and each coil overlaps only with other coils that are wrapped in an orientation that is different from said each coil.
- 7. The heat exchanger of claim 4 wherein each coil is wound in either a clockwise or counterclockwise orientation and each coil makes point contact only with other coils that are wrapped in an orientation that is different from said each coil.
- 8. The heat exchanger of claim 1 wherein said tubes are positioned in an in-line pitch orientation with respect to one another.
- 9. The heat exchanger of claim 1 wherein each coil is essentially the same longitudinal length as each of the tubes.
- 10. The heat exchanger of claim 1 wherein said each coil is comprised of a plurality of partial coils extending along a portion of each said tube and said partial coils along said tubes are intermittently positioned along the length of said tube with gaps present there between.
- 11. The heat exchanger of claim 1 wherein each coil is formed from wire with a circular cross section.
- 12. The heat exchanger of claim 1 wherein each coil is formed from wire with a rectangular cross section.
- 13. The heat exchanger of claim 1 wherein each coil is formed from wire with a square cross section.
- 14. The heat exchanger of claim 1 wherein each coil is formed from wire with an elliptical cross section
- 15. A heat exchanger comprising:
(a) a plurality of tubes having opposite ends and being spaced apart according to a predetermined inter-tube spacing amount, each such end being in contact with a tubesheet; (b) a support structure means for supporting said tubes, said support structure means further comprising a plurality of support coils, said support coils comprising helically wound material wherein a first set of said tubes are contained within the interior circumferences of said support coils and a second set of said tubes are supported by at least one surface formed by the exterior circumference of said support coils; and (c) wherein the diameter of the wire forming each said support coil is essentially equal to the predetermined inter-tube spacing between the tubes.
- 16. The heat exchanger of claim 15 wherein said tubes are positioned in a triangular pitch orientation with respect to one another.
- 17. The heat exchanger of claim 15 wherein the diameter of the wire forming each said support coil is essentially equal to an amount that is within the range between essentially being equal to one-half of the predetermined inter-tube spacing and essentially being equal to the predetermined inter-tube spacing and wherein said support coils partially overlap with each other.
- 18. The heat exchanger of claim 15 wherein the diameter of each said support coil is essentially equal to an amount that is one-half of the predetermined inter-tube spacing and said support coils make point contact with each other.
- 19. The heat exchanger of claim 15 wherein each coil is wound in either a clockwise or counterclockwise orientation and each coil overlaps only with other coils that are wrapped in an orientation that is different from said each coil.
- 20. The heat exchanger of claim 18 wherein each coil is wound in either a clockwise or counterclockwise orientation and each coil overlaps only with other coils that are wrapped in an orientation that is different from said each coil.
- 21. The heat exchanger of claim 15 wherein each coil is essentially the same longitudinal length as each of the tubes.
- 22. The heat exchanger of claim 15 wherein said each coil is comprised of a plurality of partial coils extending along a portion of each said tube and said partial coils along said tubes are intermittently positioned along the length of said tube with gaps present there between.
- 23. The heat exchanger of claim 22 wherein the winding of each said partial coil along each said tube is the opposite of the winding of the adjacently disposed partial coil positioned along the longitudinal length of each said tube.
