Claims
- 1. A method for producing heat-resistant, high-voltage lead wires for direct current comprising:
- forming an insulating layer over a high-voltage lead wire for direct current, wherein said insulating layer comprises a polyolefin based resin composition, said polyolefin resin composition being a resin composition made by adding more than 1 part by weight and less than 10 parts by weight of an organic silane compound during the mixing of more than 100 parts by weight and less than 200 parts by weight of a metal hydroxide and more than 5 parts by weight and less than 50 parts by weight of a halogen containing flame retardant to 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin, said organic silane compound having the formula: ##STR2## where, R stands for an alkyl group containing an acryl or methacryl group, and X.sup.1, X.sup.2 and X.sup.3 represent a member selected from the group consisting of alkoxy, alkyl and halogen.
- and irradiating said insulating layer with ionizing radiation.
- 2. The method according to claim 1 wherein the polyolefin is selected from the group consisting of polyethylene, ethylene-.alpha.-olefin copolymers, ethylene-vinylacetate copolymers, ethylene-methyl acrylate copolymers, ethylene-ethylacrylate copolymers, ethylene-methylmethacrylate copolymers, ethylene-1-butene copolymers, ethylene-1-hexene copolymers and ethylene-propylene rubbers, the halogen containing flame retardant is selected from the group consisting of perchloropentacyclodecane, brominated diphenylether derivatives, brominated bisphenol derivatives, brominated epoxy resin derivatives, brominated phthalimides, and brominated phosphates, the metal hydroxide is selected from the group consisting of aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide and calcium hydroxide and the organic silane is selected from the group consisting of .gamma.-methacryloxpropyltrimethoxysilane, .gamma.-acryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane, .gamma.-methacryloxypropyldimethoxymethylsilane, and .gamma.-methacryloxyethyltrimethoxysilane.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein the heat-resistance of the lead wires is above 125.degree. C.
- 4. A method for producing heat-resistant, high-voltage lead wires for direct current consisting essentially of:
- forming an insulating layer over a high-voltage lead wire for direct current, wherein said insulating layer consists essentially of a polyolefin based resin composition, said polyolefin resin composition being a resin composition made by adding more than 1 part by weight and less than 10 parts by weight of an organic silane compound during the mixing of more than 100 parts by weight and less than 200 parts by weight of a metal hydroxide and more than 5 parts by weight and less than 50 parts by weight of a halogen containing flame retardant to 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin, said organic silane compound having the formula: ##STR3## where, R stands for an alkyl group containing an acryl or methacryl group, and X.sup.1, X.sup.2 and X.sup.3 represent a member selected from the group consisting of alkoxy, alkyl, and halogen,
- and irradiating said insulating layer with ionizing radiation.
