BACKGROUND
1. Field of the Invention

This invention relates to a cup holder and particularly one that can keep warm drinks hot and cool drinks cold.

2. Description of Prior Art

When it comes to mother nature people cannot control the climate, therefore it is difficult to have their drinks kept warm or cold. When it is warm out, it is hard to keep cold drinks cold and when it is cold out, it is hard to keep warm drinks warm. When it comes to drinks the outside climate does not affect each individual the same, when someone wants their drink cold or warm, they should have their drink just the way they like it.

In the current art, there are no cup holders that keep cold drinks cold and warm drinks warm.

There is still room for improvement in the art.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The current invention is a temperature regulating cup holder. The cup holder will maintain the proper temperature of drinks keeping warm drinks warm and cold drinks cool.

The temperature regulating cup holder acts as a cooling, heating, or neutral temperature for the drink that it is holding. The regulating cup holder allows for each individual to have the drink temperature they would like to enjoy no matter what the Climate or Environment may be around them. The Climate Cup has a switch that controls Hot, Cold, or Off/Neutral temperatures of the liquid that it is holding. The Climate Holder also fits into any tradition cupholder.

The regulating cup holder would heat using resistance based heating coils while using cooling condensers to keep the regulating cup holder cool.

It is an improvement over prior art.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

There are a number of significant design features and improvements incorporated within the invention.

The current invention is a temperature regulating cup holder 1. The cup holder 1 will maintain the proper temperature of drinks keeping warm drinks warm and cold drinks cool.

The temperature regulating cup holder 1 acts as a cooling, heating, or neutral temperature for the drink that it is holding.

The temperature regulating cup holder 1 has two basic structural components. As shown in FIGS. 1, 2, 3, and 4, it has a base 10 and a holder 20. The base 10 is on the bottom and it contains the hot/cold/neutral switch 30 which control whether the cup holder 1 is heating, cooling or off. A power source 100 like a battery or rechargeable battery is contained within the base 10. The power source can also be a power cord which can be plugged into an outlet 300 located on the base. This outlet can be a USB port or standard outlet configuration and can be used as the power source or a source to charge the rechargeable battery. The base 10 is circular in shape with a circumference that would fit into a standard size cup holder of a vehicle.

The holder 20 is on the top of the base 10. It is made of a heat transferable material on the inside. It is cyclical in shape with the cup or drink going into the middle of the holder 20. In one embodiment, the holder 20 would have a handle opening 25 so that containers like coffee cups can be place within the holder 20.

The temperature regulating cup holder 1 has a switch 30 that controls Hot, Cold, or Off/Neutral as the temperature of the liquid that it is holding. The switch 30 is connected to the power source 100 as well as the heat resistance coils 110 and compressor 200.

As shown in FIG. 5, the regulating cup holder 1 would be heated using resistance based heating coils 110 that are within the walls of the holder 20 and are turned on and heated when the switch 30 is set to heat.

As shown in FIG. 6, the regulating cup holder 1 would be cooled using cooling condensers 210 connected to a compressor 200. The compressor 200 is connected to the power source 100 and is turned on when the switch 30 is turned to cool. The cooling condensers 210 are in the walls of the holder 20. The cooling can also be done using one or more fans 250 as shown in FIG. 7 which can be turned on and off.

Other methods of heating and cooling can be used with the current invention, including chemical means.

The regulating cup holder 1 is made out of premium grade materials, designed to fit right into any standard sized cup holder and outfitted with the sliding hot/cold switch 30. It's lightweight, portable, dependable and versatile.

ADVANTAGES

The current invention of temperature regulating cups are extremely easy to use and they can be moved from vehicle to vehicle as desired. The temperature regulating cups fit most traditional cup holders in the majority of cars, in trucks, in SUVs, in RVs and on boats. The regulating cups can be used to keep coffee warm on a morning commute, to keep tea piping hot, use the cup to keep water ice cold on hot days or use it to prevent ice from melting and watering it down.

Although the present invention has been described in considerable detail with reference to certain preferred versions thereof, other versions are possible such as different tension means, bobber shapes and sizes and different colored lights. Therefore, the point and scope of the appended claims should not be limited to the description of the preferred versions contained herein.

As to a further discussion of the manner of usage and operation of the present invention, the same should be apparent from the above description. Accordingly, no further discussion relating to the manner of usage and operation will be provided. With respect to the above description, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of the invention, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by the present invention.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention.
