Claims
- 1. Heating apparatus comprising a body of conducting material having oppositely directed surfaces extending between said edges, a channel formed one of said surfaces and defined by a pair of walls upstanding from said one surface, and a cover cooperating with said walls to define an enclosed passageway to receive a heating cable.
- 2. Heating apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said surfaces converge from said channel toward an edge of said body.
- 3. Heating apparatus according to clam 2 wherein said surfaces are planar.
- 4. Heating apparatus according to claim 2 wherein said surfaces are curved.
- 5. Apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said cover is releasably secured to said walls.
- 6. Apparatus according to claim 5 wherein said cover and said walls are provided with inter-engaging formations to releasably secure said cover to said walls.
- 7. Apparatus according to claim 6 wherein said cover has a plurality of ribs formed on an outer surface thereof.
- 8. Apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said body is cranked adjacent one edge of said body and said channel is formed between said one edge and said crank.
- 9. Apparatus according to claim 8 wherein said surfaces converge from said crank toward the other of said edges.
- 10. Apparatus according to claim 9 wherein said crank forms an obtuse angle in said body.
- 11. Apparatus according to claim 9 wherein said cover is detachably secured to said walls.
- 12. Apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said channel is located centrally between said edges and said opposed surfaces extend to either side of said channel to define a pair of flanges.
- 13. Apparatus according to claim 12 wherein said flanges are inclined to one another.
- 14. Apparatus according to claim 13 wherein said flanges intersect at 90°.
- 15. Apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said conducting material is selected from the group comprising aluminium or aluminium alloys.
- 16. Apparatus according to claim 15 wherein a barrier material is applied to at least one of said surfaces to inhibit galvanic corrosion.
- 17. Heating apparatus comprising a body of thermally conducting material having a pair of laterally spaced edges and laterally directed surfaces between said edges, a channel defined by a pair of walls connected to but spaced from one of said surfaces and a cover co-operating with said walls to define an enclosed passageway to receive a heating cable.
- 18. Heating apparatus according to claim 17 wherein said channel is secured to a pair of supports extending from said one surface at spaced locations.
- 19. Heating apparatus according to claim 18 wherein a plurality of channels are secured to said supports is spaced parallel relationship.
