2. Description of the Related Art
Many different hair-dryers are commercially available. These hair dryers include conventional hair dryers, negative ion hair dryers, far infrared hair dryers. Taiwan Patent 93221183 discloses a temperature regulation hair dryer, which comprises a hair dryer body, a temperature sensor, a control member, and a display screen. The hair dryer body has installed therein a fan and an electric heating net. The hair dryer body also has an air output port for sending out hot air. The temperature sensor is installed in the air output port of the hair dryer body and electrically connected to the display screen. The control member is installed in the hair dryer body for controlling the heating temperature of the electric heating net. The temperature sensor detects the temperature around the air output port, and then indicates the detected temperature through the display screen. The user operates the control member to adjust the heating temperature of the electric heating net to the desired level.
Further, Taiwan patent 94214346 discloses a negative ion hair dryer, which comprises a housing formed of two symmetrical half shells, an exhaust fan installed in the front side of the housing, a net installed in the rear side of the housing, and other parts including a control circuit device, an electric heating device, a motor, an induced-draft fan, and a negative ion generator mounted inside the housing. The control circuit controls the motor to rotate the induced-draft fan inducing currents of air toward the inside of the housing. At the same time, the electric heating device and the negative ion generator are driven by the control circuit to emit heat and to generate negative ions. Thus, hot air carrying negative ions is sent out of the housing for application.
Further, Taiwan Patent 94217138 discloses a far infrared hair dryer, which comprises a housing, which has a bottom handle and an air output port, a fan and a motor mounted inside the housing near the air output port, and a thermal module mounted inside the housing. The thermal module comprises a porous ceramic heating member supported on spacer rods, an inner conducting ring and an outer conducting ring respectively provided at the front and rear sides of the ceramic heating member, and elastic pads respectively sandwiched between the ceramic heating member and the inner conducting ring or outer conducting ring.
The aforesaid prior art designs do not have a high thermal efficiency because they do not use quarts glass tubes or ceramic tubes for producing heat. Therefore, the aforesaid prior art designs.
The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is therefore the main object of the present invention to provide a heating device, which emits far infrared rays when producing heat and, which has the advantages of high thermal efficiency, low electromagnetic wave, ease of fabrication, and recyclable materials.
To achieve this and other objects of the present invention, the heating device comprises an electric heating unit and an air delivery unit. The electric heating unit comprises a carrier made out of an electrically insulative material, the carrier having a first support member and a second support member respectively disposed at two distal ends thereof, the first support member and the second support member each have a plurality of retaining portions, a plurality of heating tubes supported between the first support members and the second support members, the heating tubes each having a first electrode and a second electrode disposed at two opposite ends thereof and respectively kept in contact with the retaining portions of the first support member and the second support member, and a voltage reducing line for conducting electricity to the heating tubes for causing the heating tubes to radiate heat, the voltage reducing line comprising a first lead wire and a second lead wire respectively coupled to the first electrodes and second electrodes of the heating tubes. The air delivery unit comprises a rack, the rack having a hollow protruding portion fastened to one end of the carrier, a motor mounted inside the hollow protruding portion, and a fan blade assembly coupled to the motor and suspending inside the rack for causing currents of air through the electric heating unit when the heating tubes are caused to radiate heat.

The electric heating unit 10 is comprised of a carrier 11, a plurality of heating tubes 12, and a voltage reducing line 17. The carrier 11 is made out of an electrically insulative material, for example, plastics, having a conical profile. The two distal ends of the carrier 11 are respectively mounted with a first support member 15 and a second support member 16. The first support member 15 and the second support member 16 each have a plurality of retaining portions 151 or 161. The heating tubes 12 are secured to the first support member 15 and the second support member 16, each having a first electrode 13 disposed at one end in contact with the associating retaining portion 151 of the first support member 15 and a second electrode 14 disposed at the other end in contact with the associating retaining portion 161 of the second support member 16. The heating tubes 12 can be quartz glass tubes or ceramic tubes coated with a layer of heating film, for example, nanometered electric radiant heating film. The number of the heating tubes 12 may be changed subject to actual requirements. According to this embodiment, the number of the heating tubes 12 is 6. Further, the first support member 15, the second support member 16, and the retaining portions 151 and 161 are made out of a metal material and kept in contact with the first electrodes 13 and the second electrodes 14 for electrical conduction.
The voltage reducing line 17 comprises a first lead wire 18 and a second lead wire 19 respectively coupled to the first electrode 13 and the second electrode 14 so that power supply can be coupled to the first electrodes 13 and the second electrodes 14 to cause the heating tubes 12 to generate heat.
The air delivery unit 30 is comprised of a motor 31, a rack 32, and a fan blade assembly 33. The rack 32 has a hollow protruding portion 34. The motor 31 is mounted in the hollow protruding portion 34 of the rack 32 and fastened to the fan blade assembly 33. The carrier 11 has one end tightly sleeved onto the hollow protruding portion 34 of the rack 32.
Further, wing members 35 are provided in the hollow protruding portion 34 and the rack 32. The wing members 35 each have a front V-notch 36 for securing the voltage reducing line 17.

When electrically connected, electric current goes through the heating tubes 12 via the first electrodes 13 and the second electrodes 14, thereby causing the electric radiant heating films of the heating tubes 12 to radiate heat. At the same time, the motor 31 is started to rotate the fan blade assembly 33, thereby causing currents of air to flow through the inside of the rack 32 and the heating tubes 12 toward the other side of the carrier 11 for application. Because the heating tubes 12 are made out of quartz glass or ceramics and respectively coated with a layer of electric radiant heating film, the heating tubes 12 emit far infrared rays when radiating heat. This design of heating tubes 12 has the advantages of high thermal efficiency, low electromagnetic wave, ease of fabrication, and recyclable materials. When compared to conventional hair dryers, the heating device of the present invention shows an inventive step.
Although a particular embodiment of the invention has been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
