Claims
- 1. An N-isopropyl-(1,2,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)oxyacetanilide of the formula ##STR17## in which R.sup.1 stands for hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, cyano, nitro, for C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl which is optionally substituted by fluorine and/or chlorine, for C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy which is optionally substituted by fluorine and/or chlorine, or for C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylthio which is optionally substituted by fluorine and/or chlorine,
- R.sup.2 stands for hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, trifluoromethyl or methoxy and
- R.sup.3 stands for fluorine, chlorine, bromine, cyano, for C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl which is optionally substituted by fluorine and/or chlorine, for C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy which is optionally substituted by fluorine and/or chlorine, for C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylthio which is optionally substituted by fluorine and/or chlorine, for C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylsulphinyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylsulphonyl.
- 2. A compound according to claim 1,
- in which
- R.sup.1 stands for hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, methyl, trifluoromethyl or methoxy,
- R.sup.2 stands for hydrogen, and
- R.sup.3 stands for chlorine, difluoromethyl, trifluoromethyl, chlorodifluoromethyl, fluorodichloromethyl, dichloromethyl, trichloromethyl, methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, methylthio, ethylthio, propylthio, methylsulphonyl, ethylsulphonyl, propylsulphonyl, methylsulphinyl, ethylsulphinyl or propylsulphinyl.
- 3. A compound according to claim 1, wherein such compound is N-isopropyl-(5-dichlorofluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-oxyacetanilide of the formula ##STR18##
- 4. A compound according to claim 1, wherein such compound is N-isopropyl-(5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-oxyacetanilide of the formula ##STR19##
- 5. A compound according to claim 1, wherein such compound is N-isopropyl-(5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-(4'-fluoro-oxyacetanilide) of the formula ##STR20##
- 6. A compound according to claim 1, wherein such compound is N-isopropyl-(5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-(2'-fluoro-oxyacetanilide) of the formula ##STR21##
- 7. A compound according to claim 1, wherein such compound is N-isopropyl-(5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-(4'-chloro-oxyacetanilide) of the formula ##STR22##
- 8. A herbicidal composition comprising a herbicidally effective amount of a compound according to claim 1 and a diluent.
- 9. A method of combating unwanted vegetation which comprises applying to such vegetation or to a locus from which it is desired to exclude such vegetation a herbicidally effective amount of a compound according to claim 1.
- 10. The method according to claim 9, wherein such compound is
- N-isopropyl-(5-dichlorofluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-oxyacetanilide,
- N-isopropyl-(5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-oxyacetanilide,
- N-isopropyl-(5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-(4'-fluoro-oxyacetanilide),
- N-isopropyl-(5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-(2'-fluoro-oxyacetanilide) or
- N-isopropyl-(5-trifluoromethyl-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-(4'-chloro-oxyacetanilide).
