Claims
- 1. An herbicidal composition comprising
- (a) an herbicidally effective amount of a thiolcarbamate having the formula ##STR7## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkyl; and
- (b) an amount of a carbamate having the formula ##STR8## in which R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 conjointly form C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylenedioxy,
- the amount of said carbamate being sufficient to extend the soil life of said thiolcarbamate; and
- (c) an inert carrier.
- 2. A composition according to claim 1 in which the weight ratio of thiolcarbamate to carbamate is from about 1:1 to about 20:1.
- 3. A composition according to claim 1 in which the weight ratio of thiolcarbamate to carbamate is from about 1:1 to about 10:1.
- 4. A composition according to claim 1 in which the weight ratio of thiolcarbamate to carbamate is from about 1:1 to about 5:1.
- 5. A method of controlling undesirable vegetation comprising applying to the locus where control is desired both
- (a) an herbicidally effective amount of a thiolcarbamate having the formula ##STR9## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkyl; and (b) an amount of a carbamate having the formula ##STR10## in which R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 conjointly form C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylenedioxy,
- the amount of said carbamate being sufficient to extend the soil life of said thiolcarbamate.
- 6. A method according to claim 5 in which the weight ratio of thiolcarbamate to carbamate is from about 1:1 to about 20:1.
- 7. A method according to claim 5 in which the weight ratio of thiolcarbamate to carbamate is from about 1:1 to about 10:1.
- 8. A method according to claim 5 in which the weight ratio of thiolcarbamate to carbamate is from about 1:1 to about 5:1.
- 9. A method of extending the soil life of a thiolcarbamate having the formula ##STR11## in which R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkyl; which comprises applying to the soil containing said thiolcarbamate or to which said thiolcarbamate is to be applied an effective amount of a carbamate having the formula ##STR12## in which R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 conjointly form C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylenedioxy.
- 10. A method according to claim 9 in which the weight ratio of thiolcarbamate to carbamate is from about 1:1 to about 20:1.
- 11. A method according to claim 9 in which the weight ratio of thiolcarbamate to carbamate is from about 1:1 to about 10:1.
- 12. A method according to claim 9 in which the weight ratio of thiolcarbamate to carbamate is from about 1:1 to about 5:1.
